"Lovely hotel, Great location, TERRIBLE room!"
The hotel is lovely and in a fabulous location, but we were assigned a terrible room (103). When I complained, the staff agreed it was completely unsuitable for guests. The room sits in the main hub of the hotel along a cobbled corridor beside the breakfast courtyard, which leads to the more secluded guest rooms. This meant constant disturbances—from late-night arrivals to early-morning departures, guests dragging suitcases across the cobbles, and staff setting up breakfast from 5 a.m., including the noise of crockery, cutlery, coffee machines, and breakfast chatter. This was our last night in Peru before a 28-hour journey back to the UK, and we couldn’t get any undisturbed sleep. If you are allocated this room, insist on a switch immediately!
"Arequipa"
This is a very nice colonial-style hotel in an excellent location, with a spectacular breakfast. The staff were exceptionally friendly, especially Don Juan, whose attentiveness and helpful recommendations made my stay much more enjoyable. The excellent service is truly appreciated.
"Definitely one of the best hotels in Arequipa"
This hotel, not far from the central square, is housed in an ancient and stately home, giving it a charming and pleasant first impression. The restaurant offers nice dinners with good dishes. Rooms are well appointed, though soundproofing is poor. Breakfast is good, though not outstanding, and the service is friendly. Overall, a pleasant stay at a reasonable online price.
"Not what you expect from a 5* hotel"
This hotel is unfortunately let down by the attitude of the staff. If you encounter a problem, it is often ignored. The breakfast selection is poor for a 5-star hotel, with dirty cups and even a fly in the milk (see photos). On a positive note, Ricardo in the bar was very friendly and had a pleasant nature, offering some relief during the stay.
"Great service, I would have liked variety in the buffet."
From the moment we arrived, the staff were very attentive. The buffet was a highlight, especially the freshly made tacos, which were rich and delicious. The only downside was the limited variety of drinks—no soda or cappuccino—but I should have asked. Achilles, who attended us, was extremely friendly and precise, offering excellent recommendations and making us feel confident to enjoy everything we wanted. Thanks for a lovely afternoon!
"Nice place"
I visited the tea buffet and, honestly, the taste was disappointing—around 3/10. However, the service was excellent, scoring 10/10. Achilles, our very friendly and helpful antitrion, made the experience much more pleasant, and overall, all the staff were very friendly.
"Breakfast"
Achilles was a wonderful host, and it was great to meet him again—congratulations on your attentive service! However, the quality of the breakfast has noticeably declined compared to previous years, with less variety and less appeal. My suggestion is to maintain consistent quality in meals over time; cutting corners may save costs, but it doesn’t necessarily lead to long-term profitability.
"Location Top rest well"
The hotel is well-located if you want quick access to the old town, but our room faced the street and was extremely noisy. At 6:00 a.m., it felt like being next to a construction site. The rooms themselves are decent, but the heavy traffic in front of the hotel makes it difficult to enjoy a quiet stay.
"It’s not worth paying that price for the rooms they have, and the quality of service is not good."
I found this stay very disappointing. Despite being labeled as a premium hotel, the rooms are small, poorly lit, and overlook a skylight—quite unattractive. Only the suites offer better views and lighting. The televisions are small and lack internet access. While the staff are not rude, they aren’t particularly friendly either. The price does not reflect the quality of the rooms or the basic products offered, which are of low quality. There are no additional services available. The only positives were the convenient location and the breakfast buffet.
"Beautiful Arequipa"
The hotel is beautiful, featuring a varied breakfast and charming harp music that adds a special touch. The staff were very friendly, especially Don Juan, who greeted us every day with joy, a great vibe, and a willingness to help with anything—from recommendations on places to visit and eat, to tours and taxis. We are very grateful for this wonderful trip! 😊
