"Get the Branzino"

This restaurant is extremely popular, so reservations are a must—plan at least a week or two in advance. The atmosphere is lively, and while the specials remain fairly consistent, the menu shines in its entree section, which features dishes portioned for sharing or enjoying solo. The branzino was the highlight for me, with the roasted poblanos in the carne asada a close second. Ideal for birthdays or date nights, don’t miss the tres leches cake to share and a frozen watermelon margarita to sip while enjoying the vibrant ambiance.

"Top Notch Restaurant"

The service here was top-notch, but the real star was the food. There were six of us, and we shared a variety of dishes, including Tacos Pastor, Tacos Carne Asada, and Chorizo Tacos—all absolutely delicious. The Rajas con Crema was rich, creamy, and bursting with a wonderful corn flavor. With so many tempting options, sharing allowed us to sample a bit of everything, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We finished the meal with flan, easily one of the best I’ve ever had. I’ll be thrilled to return and try more!

"Nice restaurant"

This restaurant offers a pleasant and relaxed dining experience. I enjoyed one of the best margaritas I’ve ever had—though a bit pricey, it was worth it. The food was solid, starting with a great appetizer of fresh tortillas and guacamole. For the main course, I had the enchiladas, which were enjoyable. The highlight was the dessert—delicious ice cream that rounded out the meal perfectly. Overall, a nice spot to unwind and enjoy good food and drinks.

"Incredibly delicious and authentic"

Incredibly good Mexican food served in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The Michelin star, earned for many years in a row, is truly well-deserved. We’ve never had such authentic and delicious Mexican cuisine outside of Mexico—an exceptional dining experience from start to finish.

"Good Mexican restaurant with room for improvement God willing"

Located at 40.74357, -73.95434, this popular one-Michelin-starred restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. While the indoor space is stylish, the ceiling soundproofing isn’t great, making it less than ideal for a quiet, romantic dinner. That said, the lively atmosphere adds charm, and expectations are high for the food. In May 2023, we enjoyed the carne asada medium rare, a double “R” ranch skirt steak with roasted poblanos and beans ($38). Marinated in tequila, it was perfectly cooked—juicy, flavorful, and tender—a dish that keeps guests coming back. Dessert, the chocolate mousse ($10), was an excellent ending to the meal. Wine selection required guidance from a knowledgeable waiter. The white Pinot Grigio Pitars 2020 “Braida Santa Cecilia” from Italy ($15 a glass) was underwhelming, tasting more like a Chianti Blanco. Switching to the Misión Blanco 2020, Santa Tomas, Baja California, Mexico ($14 a glass) offered much better flavor and proved a good reminder to try local wines at a Mexican restaurant. Service was personal, attentive, and efficient. A special moment occurred when the owner and chef said goodbye to a departing local priest, receiving his blessing—a unique touch. Casa Enrique delivers truly tasty Mexican cuisine. With upgraded soundproofing and a refreshed wine list, it could be even better. Highly recommended.

"Exceptional"

We enjoyed fresh guacamole, perfectly cooked steak tacos, and rich mole, finishing off with a light and delightful tres leches. The service was exceptional—our server even made us a virgin margarita. Considering the quality, the prices are incredibly reasonable, especially for New York City.

"Tasty Mexican food"

If you’re planning to dine here, I highly recommend starting with the guacamole—it’s fresh, vibrant, and absolutely delicious. The menu offers a great variety of starters, enchiladas, and tacos, with generous portions that are perfect for sharing—especially dishes like the Chamorro de Borrego, which is simply outstanding! The cocktail selection is impressive, featuring a wide array of margaritas and creative drinks. The staff is warm and welcoming, and our waitress guided us through the menu with great recommendations. Everything we ordered was flavorful and satisfying—definitely a memorable dining experience.

"Good but Over-Priced"

I can see why they lost their Michelin star. The food is good, but it feels overpriced. It seems they rely on their previous Michelin recognition to keep busy, rather than standing out on their own merits today.

"Pretty Good"

I happened to stop by while getting my car fixed in the area, and although I probably wouldn’t have traveled here otherwise, the restaurant was worth it. The service was quick and professional, and the brisket tacos were hands-down the best I’ve ever had. The lamb shank entrée was a bit too salty for my taste, though it paired fine with the taco wraps—I wish I could’ve enjoyed it on its own with rice. The cocktails were all solid. The place fills up quickly, even at the bar, as the local regulars clearly love coming here. I didn’t feel like I ordered an excessive amount, but I left feeling completely full—probably a sign I over-ordered.

"A bit underwhelming"

After reading many reviews, I was eager to see how they crafted Michelin star–worthy tacos. Unfortunately, I found the tacos a bit bland—the lime was the most prominent flavor in the brisket—and I recently enjoyed a tastier version at a small family restaurant in Antwerp. The main dishes were solid, with generous portions, and my wife particularly enjoyed the Mole de Piaxtla. Overall, though, I left feeling slightly disappointed given the very high expectations I had.
