"Appalling Experience on Sturovo-Budapest Train"

I reserved first-class seats on the Sturovo to Budapest route, only to find them already occupied. There was no water available, our luggage had no proper space, and disgusting chewing gum was left on the side. To make matters worse, when I arrived at my hotel, I discovered chewing gum stuck to my coat from the overhead storage, effectively ruining it. No staff checked tickets, no service was provided, and the train was so poorly cleaned that it caused damage to my belongings. Absolutely appalling!

"Disappointing Experience with České dráhy"

České dráhy has unfortunately been a frustrating experience for me. Compared to other providers, it is far too expensive, and the pricing model often makes little sense—sometimes first-class tickets are even cheaper than standard ones. The trains themselves are often uncomfortably cold due to the air conditioning, and the seating is not ideal for longer journeys. What bothers me most is the reliability: delays are far too common, and the service does little to compensate for them. Overall, the experience feels outdated and disappointing, especially when compared to modern alternatives like RegioJet.

"Sleeper Service Failure on Prague–Bratislava Overnight Train"

I specifically chose the overnight train from Prague to Bratislava so I could sleep, expecting the advertised sleeper cars. However, it was impossible to purchase a bed ticket—either online or in person. At the main station, I was told to speak to the conductor on board, only to be informed that sleeper tickets weren’t available at all. It’s frustrating and ironic that České dráhy, a company whose core business is running trains, cannot manage to sell a proper sleeper ticket. I was stuck in a regular seat all night, unable to rest before driving the next day. This was a huge disappointment and a complete failure on České dráhy’s part. They urgently need to improve—or risk losing customers entirely.

"First Class Disappointment on Berlin–Prague Train"

The train from Berlin to Prague itself was comfortable, but our first class experience was a letdown. Despite booking first class tickets, there was nothing premium about it. The carriage was noisy, filled with students and families, and aisles cluttered with luggage from young travelers. It was clear that not everyone in first class actually had the correct ticket, and the conductor made no effort to enforce it. The website promises attendants and food service at your seat, but none of that happened. Even a simple bottle of water required me to navigate through the luggage and pay 3 euros in cash—for a bottle marked “not for sale.” Overall, the first class experience was misleading and disappointing.

"Living Nightmare with České dráhy"

Returning to Czechia after traveling through France and Switzerland—where every train was punctual and clean—felt like stepping into a bizarre reality show. With České dráhy, every journey turns into an absurd experience. Trains are overbooked repeatedly. Air conditioning is broken in summer, and in winter the arctic-level heating is impossible to adjust. Mysterious banging and squealing sounds echo throughout the carriages. Toilets rarely work, and the cars you get are often completely different from what you booked. Delays seem guaranteed, usually starting from the very first stop, and the list of issues goes on. It’s a pitiful display for a “national carrier.” Traveling with České dráhy feels like a guaranteed encounter with frustration and discomfort every single time.

"Frustrating Technical Issues on Berlin–Prague Train"

On our train from Berlin to Prague, the Wi-Fi was completely broken throughout the journey, and on the return trip, none of the chargers in our carriage worked. It’s hard to understand how such basic issues are allowed on a running train. The only positive was that the train ran mostly on time, with only minor delays—surprisingly good for Deutsche Bahn. Nevertheless, these technical problems made the journey inconvenient and frustrating.

"Chronic Delays Undermine České dráhy’s Premium Services"

The fact that flagship SC trains and other premium services are rarely, if ever, on time highlights the persistent shortcomings of České dráhy. Frequent delays make even the supposedly superior trains unreliable, undermining any sense of quality or professionalism. For passengers expecting punctuality and efficiency, this is a continual disappointment.
