"Terrible Experience with Chedchai Tour – Missed Bus and Refund Hassle"

On an unfortunate day, we booked a bus ride with Chedchai Tour without checking reviews beforehand, and it turned out to be a big mistake. Our tickets, booked online, clearly showed the bus number, seat numbers, and the 6:45 PM pick-up time at Na Yai Am (Chanthaburi). We waited at their official station, but the bus never arrived. After repeatedly calling their customer service, we were passed from one phone number to another—six in total. Eventually, we were told that another bus had already passed our stop, but that was untrue; several locals waiting with us confirmed that no bus had stopped. When confronted, the staff apologized but told us to wait until midnight for the next bus, which we declined. We then requested a refund, but the company kept bouncing us between different departments and even personal numbers, each shifting responsibility to someone else. Finally, one representative said they would ask the manager, who never called back until we chased them again the following day. By then, we had already booked another company’s bus in the rain, leaving at 9 PM and arriving in Bangkok after midnight instead of 10 PM as planned. The manager eventually admitted they would process a refund, but said it would take two weeks. Overall, the experience was incredibly frustrating, with poor service, dishonesty, and no accountability.

"Affordable but Disappointing Changes"

The price is fair and certainly better than being herded into tourist buses, but I was disappointed by the recent changes. Previously, there was a meal stop at a local restaurant, which has now been replaced by a full McDonald’s takeover. It began with offering passengers free burgers (which I didn’t want), and has now escalated to a strict rule of no outside food on board. I can no longer bring my own bread, fruit, or coffee—only McDonald’s meals or water are allowed. This shift takes away from the experience and feels unnecessarily restrictive.

"Worst Bus Experience in Thailand"

This was the worst bus company I encountered in Thailand. The staff were rude, especially on the bus supposedly bound for Mae Sot but incorrectly labeled as Chiang Mai. To make matters worse, the blankets provided were not sealed in plastic, unlike those offered by other bus companies, which raised concerns about cleanliness.

"Dependable Service but Poor Toilet Facilities"

I took the bus from Bangkok (Ekamai) to Rayong (Ban Phe), which took about four hours one way. Overall, the service was reliable, and I would recommend it. However, there are areas for improvement. The bus stopped at a McDonald’s for burgers but did not allow passengers to get off for the restroom. The tiny onboard toilet was unbearably smelly, making it unusable. Thankfully, about an hour before reaching the destination, the bus stopped at a fuel station, which provided a much-needed bathroom break.

"Unpleasant Experience at Chatuchak Bus Terminal (Booth 31)"

At the Chatuchak Bus Terminal in Bangkok, ticket booth 31 for buses to Korat should be avoided. The lady at the counter refused to sell me a ticket simply because I didn’t have a Thai phone number and even threw my money back at me. It was a rude and unnecessary experience. If you’re traveling this route, I recommend going with Nakhonchai 21 instead—they actually value customers.

"Fast Service with Amenities, but Poor Conduct Onboard"

The ride was fast, and I appreciated the charging ports—just be sure to bring noise-canceling headphones. Unfortunately, there was plenty of room for improvement. The bus assistant stopped the bus whenever he pleased, whether to pee by the roadside or to spend 15 minutes shopping at a market, while passengers had to wait onboard. He also smoked cigarettes during the ride and spoke loudly, adding to the discomfort. On top of that, there were no rules enforced about passengers making video calls on speaker. One person carried on a loud, hours-long video call, even pointing the camera at foreigners, which disturbed half the bus. Short calls are fine, but this kind of disruption shouldn’t be allowed.

"Misleading Service from Bangkok to Koh Chang"

We booked a trip from Bangkok to Koh Chang, but instead of taking us there, they dropped us off in Trat—about 30 minutes away. We were then forced to pay 600 baht for a private taxi and cover the ferry fare ourselves, which was not included. The company’s promises were misleading, and we felt completely lied to.
