CHERN Hostel

"simple but so much comfort"
This is a simple yet well-located hotel in central Bangkok. The room with a king-size bed was very comfortable, and the pool added a nice touch. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. Getting around was easy using the Grab app, which works like Uber with private taxis at great prices. Cars arrived within minutes, were new and well-kept, and the drivers—like most Thai people—were very kind and patient, even in Bangkok’s chaotic traffic. A 20-minute ride for four people cost only about 2 euros, making it an excellent and affordable option.
"To be avoided"
The hotel’s location is convenient for exploring the city, but overall the experience was disappointing. Reception service was poor, and the room on the ground floor had a bad smell with cleanliness that left much to be desired. The pool was dirty, and considering the money spent, you can easily find better options. Check-in was also frustrating, with zero flexibility—we had to wait four hours for the room to be ready. I do not recommend this place.
"Good value for money. Hotel has a lovely pool🥰"
A really nice hotel with comfortable beds, a lovely pool, and a perfect location for exploring Bangkok. The atmosphere was clean and pleasant, making it a great base for a city stay. Breakfast is available to order, though we personally enjoyed having breakfast out in Bangkok instead.
"Beautiful pool and well located but really average rooms…"
The pension is in a great location—close to the temples yet tucked away in a quiet alley. The staff were very welcoming, and the spacious pool was definitely a highlight. However, the family rooms for four people were quite small, and the bathrooms were outdated with visible mold. We stayed in two different rooms during our trip after returning from getaways in the North and South, and unfortunately, both had the same issues.
"Nice hotel with pool"
This hotel offers big, clean rooms and a lovely pool, making it a comfortable place to relax. Its location is excellent, with three beautiful temples and several great restaurants just nearby. The staff are very friendly and helpful, which adds to the overall experience. A wonderful place to stay when visiting Bangkok.
"1st stay at a Hostel with family"
The service here was excellent, with staff who were always helpful and accommodating. I stayed with my wife and two teenage sons in a room with two bunk beds (Room 104). While the AC worked, it struggled to keep the room cool, and overall the space wasn’t very clean or well-maintained—it really could use fresh paint and some upkeep. That said, it was still a convenient base; we caught taxis easily from the property to the street market and also walked to nearby temples. For us, it was mainly just a place to rest our heads, but the staff truly made the experience better.
"Excellent Hostel"
I had a very nice stay here. The pool was lovely and provided a calm escape from the busy streets outside. The location is excellent, right next to a beautiful temple, and within walking distance to another district. The only downside was that breakfast wasn’t included, and the price felt a bit high for what was offered, which is why I rated it 4 stars.
"more like a hotel"
I was expecting more of a hostel atmosphere, but this place feels more like a hotel. During my four-day stay, it was very quiet, and despite having a community room with games, there wasn’t really any social interaction like I’ve seen in other hostels. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, though, this is the right spot. The rooms were clean and spacious enough, and the staff were friendly, though a bit reserved. Breakfast isn’t included and costs around THB 120. The location is convenient, with plenty of attractions and great street food nearby, plus an ATM and 7-Eleven close at hand. Don’t expect much of a view, as the surrounding buildings are about the same height and not in the best condition.
"Decent hotel in good location"
The hotel provided everything we needed for our stay in Bangkok. Our private double room was comfortable and perfect for the three nights we spent there. The pool was a good size, and the location was convenient for getting around. Staff at reception were helpful and even gave us some great recommendations. For the price we paid, it was excellent value and hard to complain.
"Not bad for budget hostel"
My friends and I chose this hostel for an affordable overnight stay before our early flight. The lobby looked fine, and the receptionist at check-in was very accommodating. The room itself was simple—each person received a bottle of water, a bed with one pillow, plus shampoo and shower gel. However, no toothpaste or conditioner was provided. When we asked for a cup or mug in the evening, the receptionist said they didn’t have any, which seemed unusual for a hostel. Overall, it was an okay stay if you just need a cheap place to sleep, but don’t expect much beyond the basics.
