"Lack of entertainment"

I chose China Airlines for my trip from London to Brisbane via Taipei mainly because it was the most affordable option. All segments were on the Airbus A350, which was spacious, modern, and clean. I had pre-ordered a vegetarian meal, which was decent, and the crew were friendly and attentive throughout. One major downside was the in-flight entertainment. On such a long journey—especially the 15-hour 20-minute leg from Taipei to London—the lack of variety was noticeable. There were no Bollywood movies or content in Indian regional languages, which made the flight feel longer and a bit dull. Overall, I’d fly China Airlines again if budget is the top priority, but would love to see improvements in the IFE selection.

"China Airlines is a professional carrier, and exceeds expectations in quality for economy"

Excellent service from a top-quality carrier. The experience far exceeded expectations for an economy booking, offering much more comfort and space than anticipated. The professional staff, along with great food and entertainment, made for a highly enjoyable flight.

"China Airlines does it right. P.S. They are not Chinese"

I absolutely love China Airlines and have flown with them every summer for about 10 years. Their service makes it difficult to go back to mediocre American flights. I highly recommend them! Just to clarify, they are Taiwanese, not Chinese.

"Slow"

While the service was generally pleasant, every single part of the process was delayed — from check-in to boarding to taxiing. These cumulative delays caused me to miss my connecting flight. Had just one step in the process been on time, I would have made it. Extremely frustrating and disappointing experience.

"Recommended…"

The staff are very accommodating, the food is delicious, and the airport in Taiwan is spacious, clean, and offers plenty of seating while waiting for the next flight.

"Flight to Manila"

The flight was very long, and we had a 5-hour stopover at Taiwan airport. Unfortunately, because of the timing, all the shops were closed, which made the wait feel even longer. It would have been much more enjoyable if there were more things to do during the layover.

"The best economy"

There was plenty of legroom, which made the flight more comfortable. The cabin crew was very attentive, not just chatting amongst themselves like with some other airlines. The food quality was also great, adding to an overall enjoyable experience.

"Very good service"

The flight and service were very good, and the extra we paid for Premium Economy was definitely worth it for a long journey. However, we booked through Expedia and, whether it was their error or the airline's, our tickets didn’t include a middle name. This ended up costing us $100 each at check-in — which felt like a bit of a cash grab. A frustrating end to an otherwise great experience.

"Faultless"

First and foremost, it's important to clarify that this airline is the national carrier of Taiwan and has no connection to the PRC, despite what the name may imply. The cost of business class is highly competitive, yet the experience easily rivals that of the world’s top carriers. Ground and cabin staff were consistently helpful, efficient, and courteous. The comfort, amenities, and overall cabin experience were excellent, and the food was truly outstanding. Highly recommended.

"Pleasantly surprised"

We booked this flight after spotting a great deal online, not quite sure what to expect—but we were genuinely impressed. The aircraft was spotless, including the restrooms, and the crew were welcoming and attentive throughout. We had two seats in the second-last row and were amazed by the generous legroom. The in-flight entertainment offered a great range of movies and games, and the food was quite decent too. We're now looking forward to our return flight and would definitely recommend flying with China Airlines.
