"Overhyped Experience at Chocolatería San Ginés"

Despite all the buzz, the churros at Chocolatería San Ginés didn’t quite live up to the hype for me. They felt more like plain breadsticks dipped in chocolate than something truly special. While the spot has history and charm, the overall experience felt underwhelming. Next time, I’d probably opt for a regular churros café without the long wait or inflated expectations.

"Iconic Churros with Room for Service Improvement"

Chocolatería San Ginés lives up to its legendary status in some ways—especially with its rich, thick hot chocolate and crunchy churros. I particularly enjoyed the smaller churros, which felt lighter and less greasy. The person who took our order was friendly, helpful, and fluent in English, which added a warm touch to the experience. However, the outdoor service left much to be desired. Staff seemed disengaged, and despite open tables, a person on crutches had to wait unnecessarily. Once seated, we received no follow-up service. It’s a shame, as this lack of attentiveness takes away from an otherwise iconic experience. Would I recommend it? Yes—as a one-time visit for the churros and chocolate, it’s worth it. But with over 50K reviews, better service shouldn’t be too much to ask. I might try sitting indoors next time to see if the experience improves.

"Iconic Churros Spot in Madrid – A Must-Try Experience"

This is arguably the most famous and historic churros place in Madrid, and for good reason. While it was understandably crowded, the line moved quickly, and we only waited about 5–10 minutes. The churros were perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside, soft inside—and the chocolate was rich and indulgent. If you're a fan of dark chocolate, you'll absolutely love it. A classic Madrid experience that's definitely worth trying!

"Disappointing Churros Experience – Not Worth the Hype"

Having tried churros in Barcelona, I found these to be a letdown. They didn’t taste freshly made and were noticeably greasier than expected. The chocolate was also underwhelming—it felt more like a cocoa-based sauce than authentic melted chocolate. Overall, the experience didn’t live up to the reputation, and there are definitely better churros to be found elsewhere.
