"Superb Steak, But Disappointing Experience for a Two-Star Michelin"
One of the best steaks we've ever had and an impressive wine selection—those were the standout positives from our evening. Unfortunately, beyond that, our experience at this two Michelin-star restaurant fell short of expectations. The setting is tasteful and rooted in a charming family history. We were informed that the dining experience typically begins with an amuse-bouche served by the toll table to introduce guests to the restaurant’s story and ambiance. Sadly, this was skipped in our case due to “too many bookings,” which was disappointing for such a highly rated venue. Service also lacked consistency. Our table was given different instructions on the sequence of dishes compared to the table beside us, which created confusion. It was also surprising that there was no dedicated sommelier—one staff member handled wine service, food delivery, and table clearing, and unfortunately, he wasn’t able to provide much insight into the wines. To top it off, a moment of unexpected clumsiness occurred when a staff member mistakenly set cutlery on the wrong side of the table, a detail that felt out of place in this caliber of restaurant. In the end, while the food quality—especially the steak—was undeniably high, the overall experience didn’t justify the price or the Michelin prestige.
"Memorable Dining with Excellent Food, but Service Had a Blemish"
We visited this restaurant during a family trip to Barcelona and had high expectations. The night before, we dined at a 3-Michelin-star venue—but to our surprise, we actually preferred this one! Every dish was crafted with care and creativity, and the majority of the service was warm and attentive. Unfortunately, one interaction with a manager left a sour note. When I asked a simple question, he responded by saying I was interrupting him, which made me feel quite uncomfortable. Because of this, I can only rate the service three stars, despite the rest of the team being excellent. Overall, a wonderful meal with beautifully executed dishes—but the experience would have been flawless with a more respectful approach from all staff members.
"Delicious Food and Great Wine, but Slow Start to Service"
The food was consistently excellent, with a mix of amazing and good dishes that made for a truly enjoyable meal. The service was friendly and knowledgeable throughout, but we experienced a frustrating delay right at the beginning—waiting 45 minutes after being seated before we could even order wine and an aperitif. On a positive note, the wine list was particularly impressive, featuring only Spanish selections at very fair prices. Overall, a great culinary experience that could have been even better with a smoother start to the service.
"A Truly Unforgettable Family Dining Experience"
Our lunch was nothing short of unforgettable. The cuisine was outstanding—refined, flavorful, and expertly crafted. What truly made the experience exceptional, however, was the warmth and kindness of the staff and the chef, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We dined with our two young children (7 and 8), and the entire family was met with thoughtful attention and genuine hospitality. It’s rare to find such a balance of top-tier cooking and heartfelt service. Thank you again for everything—we’ll definitely be back soon!
"Creative Cuisine and Outstanding Wine Pairing"
We chose the light menu, and as promised, the dishes were creative—thankfully, without sacrificing flavor. The true standout of the experience, however, was the wine pairing. Each wine was not only delicious and unexpected but also came with an engaging story that added depth to the meal. While the entire experience does come with a hefty price tag, it delivers on quality and originality, especially when it comes to the thoughtfully selected wines. Highly recommended for those looking to indulge.
"Spectacular Food, But an Experience That Misses the Mark for the Price"
I have mixed feelings about our evening at Cinc Sentits. There were definitely standout moments, but others fell short—especially given the high price point. To start, there was a surprising price increase. When we booked, the full tasting menu was listed at €169 per person. By the time of our visit, it had jumped to €220, without any advance notice or indication on the website that prices vary seasonally. A “light menu” option was available for €20 less, with three fewer courses and a roughly three-hour duration. On the positive side, the food was absolutely phenomenal—some of the most innovative and flavorful dishes I’ve ever had. The wine pairing was thoughtfully curated, featuring Catalan wines, and the service—particularly when presenting the dishes—was informative and polished. Our water glasses were never empty, and the pacing showed great attention to detail. However, there were notable drawbacks. Despite choosing the shorter menu, we still spent three hours at the table, with long pauses between courses. The wine pairing, priced at over €100, included just 2.5 glasses—notably lacking during the appetizer and most dessert courses. The ambiance was also disappointing. The absence of background music created an awkward silence, making the space feel cold and overly formal. Conversations felt almost out of place. In the end, while the food was exceptional, the overall atmosphere and value didn’t quite live up to expectations. For such a high price, the experience needs to be more immersive and cohesive.
