"Beautiful Setting, Underwhelming Tasting Experience"

The food was good, but at this price point, I definitely expected more. The culinary approach leaned heavily on sauces and liquid-based elements, which led to a repetitive texture throughout the tasting menu. After a few similarly styled courses, the excitement began to fade—I would have appreciated more variety and contrast in both texture and composition. The restaurant itself is housed in a beautiful building, and the iconic Bibendum stained glass adds to the visual charm. However, the insulation leaves much to be desired. It was noticeably cold inside, and the temperature dropped further as the evening progressed. For such a refined space, I would recommend that the restaurant consider improving the thermal comfort of the dining area to enhance the overall experience.

"Great Ambience and Food, Let Down by Service"

The food and wine were enjoyable, and the restaurant's ambience was warm and inviting. However, the service left much to be desired. It was disappointing to see servers return to the table directly after multiple smoking breaks, which detracted from the overall experience. A setting as lovely as this deserves a more polished and professional service team to match the quality of the cuisine.

"A Night to Remember at Claude – Exceptional in Every Way"

My wife and I had an amazing dining experience at Claude. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable—truly unlike anything we’ve experienced before. The staff take immense pride in their work, offering detailed explanations of each dish and maintaining a perfect balance of attentiveness without being intrusive. Everyone we encountered was warm, friendly, and always smiling. The food was an absolute delight, each course presented like a piece of art. Even the cutlery was elegant and unique, adding to the overall aesthetic. We spent nearly three hours dining, and it flew by in the best possible way. A special highlight was being invited into the kitchen to meet Chef Claude himself—a wonderful gesture that made the evening even more memorable. We even got to take a few photos, which we’ll treasure. An unforgettable evening from start to finish. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a refined and heartfelt dining experience. ❤️

"A Memorable Experience at Bibendum – Stellar Value for a Two-Star Lunch"

I arrived on a cloudy, wet Saturday afternoon and was immediately greeted with warmth at what must be one of the most charming and refined dining rooms in London. The atmosphere was calm, elegant, and quietly luxurious—perfect for a relaxed fine dining experience. Opting for the £75 blind 'market' menu, which is crafted daily from seasonal ingredients, I was excited to see what Chef Bosi’s kitchen would create. Given the restaurant’s two Michelin stars and longstanding reputation, it felt like a great value—and it delivered. Service was attentive in the best possible way. With the restaurant not yet half full when I arrived, the staff were able to give their full attention to every detail. A quick glance was all it took for a waiter to approach—discreet yet proactive. The food was largely excellent. My starter, a pumpkin velouté with shaved black truffle and yoghurt, served alongside a bacon-glazed brioche, was rich, balanced, and deeply satisfying. The main course—a perfectly cooked chicken breast stuffed with foie gras—was equally delightful, served with a deep, flavorful jus, an artichoke salad (slightly underseasoned for my taste), and some deliciously crisp potato elements. Dessert was the only slight letdown. A white chocolate tart with vanilla pearls and lemon ice cream sounded promising but was overly sweet. A crisper, more neutral base like pastry would have balanced the dish better. A couple of minor notes: the wine service could be improved—my glass had bits of cork despite filtering (twice). And while the bread tasted good, it was served only tepid. Still, the whole experience—from the thoughtful amuse-bouches like the Bibendum egg to the petits fours and the bill delivered in a vintage Michelin guide—made for a truly special outing. It felt part fine dining, part homage to culinary history. For £126 (including two glasses of wine, coffee, and service), this was a fantastic experience and one I’d gladly recommend—especially to those who appreciate Michelin-level dining with a sense of history and hospitality. ⭐ 4.5/5 – A few small slips, but great value and a memorable meal.

"Underwhelming Experience – Needs Improvement for the Price"

Visited recently and found the overall experience to be disappointing, especially considering the high prices. The food was okay—nothing particularly memorable—and didn’t quite justify the premium cost. A few comfort issues stood out. The chairs were not particularly comfortable, which made the meal feel longer than it should have. Additionally, the general cleanliness of the restaurant left something to be desired. At this level of dining, you expect immaculate surroundings, but that wasn't the case here. Given the price point, I had higher expectations for both the ambiance and the culinary experience. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t be in a rush to return.

"Excellent Mains, Some Starters Miss the Mark"

Had lunch at the Oyster Bar recently and overall enjoyed the experience. The restaurant itself has a pleasant atmosphere and a menu that’s both classic and enticing. The food was generally good, but a couple of starters were underwhelming. The steak tartare lacked seasoning and was served with a whole egg rather than just the yolk, which felt out of place. The prawn cocktail was similarly under seasoned and somewhat disappointing in portion—six halved prawns (effectively just three) felt a bit like a visual trick. That said, the main courses were outstanding—well-executed and full of flavour. Despite the uneven start, the quality of the mains makes me keen to return and explore more of the menu.
