"Terrible and unacceptable customer care"

The customer care at this hotel was absolutely terrible. We were there for a wedding, and many guests had serious issues that were handled in an unacceptable manner. One guest had to go out and purchase a mattress for a crib that had been reserved six months in advance—the hotel refused to refund the full cost of the mattress, which was left behind for their use. Another horrifying incident involved sewage coming out of the sink and flooding the bathroom. Not even a simple courtesy was offered after these episodes. I used to love this hotel, but after these experiences, I will never return.

"The perfect accommodation in Lima"

This is truly the best option for staying in Lima. The hotel is beautiful, very welcoming, and full of charm. The rooms are super spacious with incredibly comfortable beds, and the breakfast is delicious. The bar is lovely, with a consistently great atmosphere. A special mention goes to the service, which is both highly professional and genuinely friendly. In particular, Nelson Espinal, the Concierge, deserves recognition—he’s one of those people who makes life easier at any moment. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful. We’re already looking forward to coming back soon!

"Loved this hotel!"

The customer service and hospitality at this hotel are truly top-notch. My suite was impressive, impeccably cleaned and staged daily. The linens were crisp and comfortable, and the plush bath sheets were wonderfully absorbent. I especially enjoyed the aromatic bubble bath with a lit candle—a thoughtful touch that made my stay even more relaxing. The only hiccup was that the hotel hosted an event on the last night of my stay, which caused some inconvenience. Advanced notice would have been appreciated so I could have made any necessary accommodations. Aside from this, it was an excellent experience overall.

"Beautiful historic hotel"

This is a beautiful and historic hotel, but unfortunately, our room was located in the basement in the newer section, which offered essentially no view. We had a dehumidifier in the room, which was helpful, but it was never emptied by the staff. Our first night, we were awoken by the beeping unit because it was full, and from then on, we emptied it ourselves daily. On the positive side, the room itself was spacious, modern, clean, and quiet, with a very comfortable bed. A special mention goes to Mario Meza, the concierge, who was absolutely excellent. He assisted us with complex transportation logistics and shared helpful information about Lima, all while genuinely taking the time to get to know us. Thank you, Mario, for making our stay much better.

"Beware of non standard expectations"

As a loyal fan of LHW, I booked a suite at this hotel expecting the same exceptional standards and attention to detail I’ve come to appreciate. Unfortunately, my experience fell short. Upon my very late arrival, the room was 75 degrees despite being set to 65. I called the front desk immediately, and an attendant came up with a thermo gun, confirming the air coming out was cold. I suggested it might be a fan issue and was told they would check with a supervisor and call me back—no call ever came. The next morning, I reported the problem at the front desk and asked them to either fix the AC or move my belongings to another room. After returning from a day out, I was told my room was “now 68 degrees.” However, it was still 75. Frustrated, I requested the manager come immediately or at least call me if she could not. She arrived 15 minutes later, understood the issue immediately, and moved me to another room where the AC worked properly. Unfortunately, it was not a suite and had an odd furniture layout, leaving me disappointed with the downgrade. Overall, this is a beautiful hotel with very pleasant staff, but the lack of consistent standards was unacceptable and not what I expect from an LHW property.

"Nice large room unfortunately smelled like stale shower drain water"

The room was large and well-equipped with amenities like a safe, coffee maker, mini fridge, iron and ironing board, umbrella, slippers, robes, sewing kit, shower cap, toiletries, hairdryer, blackout curtains, and both 110 and 220V outlets. Unfortunately, the room had an unpleasant smell of stale shower drain water, which was off-putting. Rooms facing the country club pool next door also suffer from loud music and noise, making it difficult to relax. While the area around the hotel seems fairly safe, there isn’t much to do nearby. The swimming pool is very small, and the gym is only moderately sized. On the positive side, the breakfast buffet was excellent and a real highlight of the stay.

"Nice hotel with exceptions"

The hotel itself is beautiful, with exceptionally spacious rooms and excellent cleanliness. The food at the restaurants was good, and most of the service staff were outstanding—especially Mario, who went above and beyond helping with bags, walking directions, and taxi arrangements. Unfortunately, the front desk receptionists came across as rather snooty and not very friendly, which was disappointing. Additionally, the pool is extremely small and underwhelming, especially given the hotel’s “Country Club” title. Overall, it’s a nice place, but these exceptions did take away from the experience.

"Great location in the best residential part of San Isidro with views of the Golf course."

This is a fabulous hotel located in the best area of Lima, and the service overall was great. However, it was disappointing that my requests for early check-in and late check-out, which I had booked in advance, were ignored. Additionally, the 20% restaurant discount offered at the time of booking was not applied. That said, I still enjoyed my stay and appreciated the quality of the hotel despite these oversights.

"NOT worth the high price"

We booked this hotel for our last night after a long trip around the country, but it turned out to be extremely disappointing. Our initial room faced a loud party at the club next door that was going until 11 pm. After waiting half an hour and calling back, the concierge finally showed us another room—only to find it was directly above another party hosted by the hotel, also lasting until 11 pm! When I told the front desk this was unacceptable, they seemed surprised that the "upgraded" room wasn't good enough. After another 10 minutes, we were finally given a room with no view and a bathroom half the size just to avoid the noise. From checking in a little before 8 pm, we didn't settle into a room until 9:30 pm, and there was no offer of compensation whatsoever—which is shocking considering the price we paid. Breakfast was mediocre, and the pool was completely empty! Granted, it’s winter, but for a hotel of this level, the pool should at least be mildly heated and functional. The staff were friendly and tried to help, but they clearly lacked the knowledge or authority to properly manage these situations. Overall, this hotel is absolutely not worth the price they charge.

"Beautiful, historic, 5* luxury hotel."

This is your classic luxury hotel where everything is perfectly done. Fresh flowers adorn the lobby, the service is both friendly and professional, and the rooms are beautiful with thoughtful turndown service. We were even greeted with a glass of sparkling wine upon arrival. The restaurant was delightful, with gorgeous china and flawless service—there’s truly nothing more you could ask for. However, be aware that the hotel has two very different sides: a quiet side and a noisy side. My room was on the quiet side, and I had a wonderful stay. Unfortunately, my friend’s room was on the other side of the building, which overlooks a covered children’s hockey field. The field creates an echo, and the kids start screaming at 6:30 a.m. and continue all day until 5:30 p.m. If you choose this hotel (which I highly recommend), make sure to request a room on the quiet side for the best experience.

"I’d hoped for better"

I had hoped for a better experience from this hotel, which was the last stop on our trip to Peru. Pros: Access to the Golf Club, which was the main reason we stayed, and it was very enjoyable Large, comfortable rooms Lovely building with a good central location Concierge was very helpful Cons: Breakfast was pretty poor Restaurant food was average, especially compared to hotels outside Lima Staff didn’t seem particularly attentive The spa is very small, so I’d recommend booking well in advance Overall, I’d rate the stay 7.5/10.

"Emblematic hotel that must honor its tradition"

The amenities of the hotel and the room leave much to be desired. As a property that represents us to tourists from around the world, its services did not live up to its reputation or the standards I expected. As a member, I was particularly disappointed with this experience.
