"A Magical Gem!"
I stayed here for three nights in November and cannot recommend this stunning property enough. I booked a Garden Suite and absolutely loved it. The staff were kind, helpful, and professional throughout my stay. The property even features a beautiful chapel, adding to its charm. The location is fantastic—just a short walk to Trastevere’s restaurants and shops, along the Tiber River, and close to Janiculum Hill with its panoramic views and stunning fountain. A truly memorable stay!
"Great place to stay in a typically Italian part of the city."
We had a very comfortable stay with clean, well-appointed rooms and courteous, helpful, and attentive service throughout. The location is ideal, with excellent Italian dining options nearby that offer great value for money and an authentic local experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and will definitely return.
"Mixed experience…"
We have very mixed feelings about this hotel. The building itself is absolutely stunning and very well preserved, and the location is perfect for exploring Rome—especially with teenagers, as bars and restaurants are just a five-minute walk away. However, there are some critical issues that impacted our stay. The front office staff during the daytime was surprisingly unfriendly—by far the most arrogant and unwelcoming we’ve encountered in our many trips to Rome. One staff member even shook his head in frustration when I expressed discomfort with room 507, raising his voice and making us feel unwelcome. Overall, several staff seemed tired or disengaged, which might indicate a general work environment issue. Rooms 506 and 507 should be avoided; they feel basement-like, with no windows and a noticeable musty smell. We eventually received room 503, which was very nice, but each morning we were startled awake by trolleys carrying glass and plates for breakfast being pushed right past our door—a noise issue that management should address. Overall, while the hotel is beautiful and well-located, the combination of service shortcomings, noisy mornings, and certain rooms detracts from its value. You may find better options for the price in Rome.
"Relaxing stay, relaxed hotel. Excellent service and space maintenance."
The rooms are very well equipped, featuring excellent mattresses and exceptionally thorough cleaning. The hotel is wonderfully quiet, offering a peaceful stay. Breakfast served in the monastery garden is a true delight, complemented by excellent, attentive service throughout.
"Slow service but great location."
The hotel itself is stunning, with beautiful interiors, breathtaking views, and a fantastic central location. Unfortunately, the service falls short in all departments. Requests for extra towels and an ironing board were ignored despite calling twice, making it difficult to fully relax and enjoy the stay. A gorgeous property let down by poor and inattentive service.
"A quiet hotel away from the hustle and bustle of Trastevere."
I truly enjoyed my stay at this hotel — the historic monastery building gives it a wonderfully special atmosphere. Breakfast in the beautiful courtyard garden was a delightful experience. A special thanks to the two lovely waitresses, both named Marina, whose kindness, professionalism, and warm energy made my stay even more memorable.
"Don’t bother with breakfast"
The hotel is lovely, with well-maintained rooms and a pleasant atmosphere. However, the breakfast, though visually appealing, is cold, greasy, and not worth the cost—better to skip it. The property is located up a hill on cobblestones, requiring a 5–10 minute walk to restaurants and other sites. While charming, there are other options I would consider for a return visit.
"Hotel has charm and location"
This hotel is quite interesting, set in an old convent, which gives it unique character. It’s very well located, with plenty of restaurants nearby. Our room was great, and the service was good. Breakfast was reasonable, though there’s room for improvement. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.
"Excellent"
I received a warm and pleasant welcome that set the tone for a fantastic two-day stay. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully appointed. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and attentive throughout. The grounds were stunning, adding to the overall charm of the hotel. I truly could not find any faults!
"Perfection"
We recently returned from a 3-night stay at The Donna Camilla Savelli and were absolutely delighted. From the warm welcome on arrival to the friendly and attentive staff throughout our stay, everything was exceptional. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean and breathtakingly beautiful—truly a wow factor! Breakfast was excellent, offering a wide variety to cater to all dietary needs. This remarkable hotel made our first trip to Rome (and Italy) incredibly special. Heartfelt thanks to every member of staff for their kindness and helpfulness. We can’t wait to return!
