"Disappointing"
We stayed at the hotel from 10 to 31 July and had an exceptional experience with Fram and the animation team—their energy, friendliness, and engagement truly made our stay memorable. The restaurant also impressed us, offering different themed nights and waiters who were remarkably attentive and professional. However, despite these highlights, the overall hotel experience was disappointing. Our room had a leaking shower due to poor drainage, which caused flooding. Housekeeping service was frustratingly inconsistent; our room was only properly cleaned once in three days, and towels were often not replaced despite repeated requests. Many of the towels and sheets provided were worn out and full of holes, and the housekeeping staff were extremely unpleasant and unhelpful. Given the price of the stay, these basic standards should be met. While we loved the Fram team and the entertainment they provided, we cannot recommend this hotel itself. We would happily return for the activities but would choose different accommodations next time.
"Fantastic Family-Friendly Stay at Elba Carlota Hotel"
We had a fabulous time at the Elba Carlota Hotel! The resort is perfect for families, though solo travelers or couples won’t feel out of place. The entertainment team was outstanding—busy all day and engaging with guests to make every moment fun. Food options were plentiful, with good variety at all times. A few downsides: staffing levels seemed a bit low, though the staff in the bars and restaurants worked incredibly hard and were very friendly. Cocktails were basic mixed drinks, nothing fancy. The beach isn’t private, so beds and umbrellas come at a cost, but the area is beautiful and feels safe for walks day or night. Would we return? Absolutely—but probably out of peak season to avoid the crowds. Overall, a highly enjoyable stay with a great mix of fun, relaxation, and family-friendly vibes.
"Food problems"
Our stay at the hotel had some positives, but several issues made the experience disappointing. The pools and kids’ entertainment were excellent, keeping the whole family engaged and happy. However, the food in the restaurant was a major problem and unfortunately made several family members ill. As a chef from the UK, I noticed basic hygiene and cross-contamination issues, such as frying eggs alongside ham and cheese toasties on the same grill, which could have been easily avoided using separate equipment. Additionally, the food lacked seasoning, and there were no salt and pepper on tables, which was frustrating. While most staff were rude and unhelpful, one exceptional staff member treated us with kindness, respect, and even humor, making a small positive difference. The front desk staff were responsive and helpful when approached. This hotel has potential with its entertainment and facilities, but to achieve a proper four-star experience, the management needs to address food hygiene, seasoning, and staff professionalism. Until then, I cannot fully recommend it for families.
"A lovely hotel spoilt by penny pinching."
We stayed at the hotel in February, booking two suites. Unfortunately, our suites were in separate buildings, very far apart, which was particularly challenging for me as an elderly, disabled guest needing family support. Although the late buffet on arrival was a thoughtful touch, the absence of drinking water in the rooms due to the hotel’s no-plastic policy was frustrating. Suggestions to buy bottled water from a supermarket seemed ironic, and it took three days to get a usable solution from management. The suites themselves were lovely, and the pool area was wonderful. Food quality was good, but limited serving times caused long queues, and table service was slow, with drinks often taking over 30 minutes. Pool bar service also had long waits. Some suite issues, such as a dribbling shower, brown hot water, and an uncomfortable camp bed, caused additional frustration. Staff often lacked information, and junior staff seemed powerless to resolve problems. While the hotel has charm and potential, strict policies, additional charges for basic amenities, and poorly empowered staff made the experience less enjoyable. With better management, more staff, and proactive problem-solving, this hotel could easily become exceptional. Sadly, as it stands, it felt expensive for the level of service provided. Would recommend for the ambiance and facilities, but not for seamless service.
"Amazing time at the Elba Carlota"
We just returned from 10 incredible days at the Elba Carlota, and it was the perfect family holiday for our group of 12. The location is ideal—right on the beach, close to shops, and conveniently near the airport. The food exceeded our expectations, with plenty of choice every day. We especially enjoyed the Asian and Mexican theme nights, as well as a visit to the Italian restaurant. The hotel itself is spotless, well-maintained, and the staff are consistently friendly and helpful. The animation team was absolutely brilliant! They worked tirelessly, made everyone feel welcome, and kept both kids and adults entertained. The foam and pool parties were a highlight, and the shows, including the music show and Lion King performance, were spectacular. With so much to do for everyone, excellent dining, and top-notch service, we would definitely return. Elba Carlota is a fantastic choice for a family-friendly holiday full of fun and memorable experiences.
"Some disappointments…"
Ten days in Elba Carlota from 4 to 14 August with the family. Very disappointed with the restaurant! Very repetitive proposals, overcooked meat, little dessert, some waiters not very pleasant (look up when asked something for example) And a management that does not apply the same rules for all customers! The cleanliness of the rooms leaves something to be desired, you should not look in the corners, they do not wash them! It is a shame because the rooms are nice and the bedding comfortable. Mercî osmani Garcia for his professionalism and kindness Axel, lenient and Leijah you are top!
"Great location next to beach"
Just returned from an amazing 10-day holiday! Our side sea view room was clean and comfortable, and the pool area was spacious and well-maintained. The all-inclusive menu offered plenty of options, and while the hotel was busy due to school holidays, everything ran smoothly. The location couldn’t have been better—right next to the beach—and the entertainment team was simply brilliant, keeping everyone, especially children, engaged and happy throughout the day. The only drawback was the issue with sunbeds. Many were “reserved” with towels early in the morning but left unused for hours, making it difficult for other guests to find shade. It would be great if the hotel could manage this better to ensure fair use for all visitors. Overall, a fantastic holiday with just a small improvement needed regarding sunbed management.
"Lovely hotel, let down by complaints not being resolved efficiently or at all."
We are halfway through our 7-day stay at the Elba Carlota, and while the hotel has many positive aspects, a few issues have caused significant disappointment. The hotel’s eco-friendly approach to bottled water is commendable, but with only three refill stations on the ground floor and no containers to carry water to upper floors, it created an inconvenience, especially overnight. Our family’s rooms are far apart, and despite requesting closer accommodation, we were told this was not possible. Our junior suite’s whirlpool bath has also been a major issue. On the second day, the water appeared brown, and despite multiple reports over 48 hours, there was confusion about the cause and no clear assurance of safety. Additionally, the jets in the bath do not work. Dining has been mixed as well. The Italian a la carte restaurant was unavailable on several days, which we weren’t informed about at check-in. While the buffet food is good with plenty of choice, the restaurant staff are overworked, making it difficult to get drinks and sometimes encountering rudeness—likely due to being stretched too thin. Finally, the bed setup in our junior suite is not suitable for teenagers, with a camp bed for our nearly 17-year-old son and makeshift arrangements for our daughter. Overall, the hotel is clean, well-maintained, and offers lovely facilities and entertainment. However, these issues—especially water, dining, and sleeping arrangements—have affected our stay. With better staff support and attention to these details, it could be truly excellent.
"Great holiday at Elba Carlota, Fuerteventura"
The Elba Carlota hotel offered a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, with staff always approachable and ready to assist. Our room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with air conditioning, a fridge, and plenty of storage for clothes, making it comfortable for a family stay. The hotel provided a variety of entertainment options. The animation team put on excellent shows, while the casino and games room offered alternative activities for guests. The pools were fantastic, and activities such as water aerobics and the foam party were highlights of our stay. The restaurant could benefit from air conditioning as it became quite hot, and the food quality was variable—some nights were fine, while others were mediocre. The children’s section was limited, mostly featuring pasta, pizza, and chips. Sun loungers were plentiful, and guests generally respected them, although some left cups lying around despite the many containers provided. The only minor downside was the 15–20 minute walk into the main resort, which might be challenging for those with mobility issues. Overall, it was a very pleasant holiday with excellent entertainment, pools, and a friendly staff.
"Great Stay at a Well-Located and Friendly Hotel"
I completely agree with YANN’s observations. This hotel offers a very pleasant stay with attentive and hardworking staff who make guests feel welcome. The rooms are comfortable and well-maintained, while the swimming pool provides a relaxing spot to unwind. The beach is conveniently located right in front of the hotel, making it easy to enjoy the sea. Despite planes passing overhead occasionally, it was never more than a minor distraction. The nearby shopping center is very convenient, adding to the ease and enjoyment of the stay. Overall, this hotel is highly recommended for a comfortable, well-located, and enjoyable holiday experience.
"Family holiday EN"
Catering at the hotel was top-notch, with a wide variety of delicious dishes, but the dining room itself was far too small and noisy given the number of guests. Finding a table at any time felt nearly impossible, making mealtimes stressful rather than enjoyable. The pool and deckchair situation was equally frustrating. Guests pre-book deckchairs very early in the morning—sometimes before 6 am—leaving little chance for others to find spots, and by 9 am there was essentially no room available. With only a limited number of pools and an oversized guest list, the hotel’s infrastructure clearly struggles to accommodate everyone comfortably. Despite these issues, the Fram staff were excellent. Their friendliness, professionalism, and attentiveness made a positive impression and softened some of the hotel’s shortcomings. While the food and staff were highlights, the overcrowding, uncomfortable bedding, and lack of space for relaxation significantly impacted the overall experience. Families looking for a more spacious, peaceful stay may be disappointed.
"Upgrade your room if you can to premium, its worth it"
We’ve just returned from a one-week stay at this hotel, and overall it was a pleasant experience. The property is very clean and well-maintained, with beautiful garden areas and hardworking, friendly staff who go out of their way to help. We stayed in an upgraded premium room, which was comfortable and well-equipped with bathrobes, slippers, beach towels, a bottle of wine, and hot and cold drinks. Housekeeping did an excellent job keeping the room tidy. The bed was very comfortable, making for restful nights. However, there are some areas that need improvement. The air conditioning in the room was ineffective, leaving it warmer than expected, and WiFi connectivity was poor in several areas, including the restaurant. The A La Carte restaurant was a nice addition, but the noise from nearby mini disco clashed with the indoor music, making it less relaxing. The pool area was pleasant but had missing tiles in the colder pool, and the sunbeds were old, uncomfortable, and some even broken. Paying 5 euros for a cabana bed was worth it, as it was much more comfortable. In summary, it’s a lovely hotel with excellent staff, but upgrades to air conditioning, WiFi, and pool facilities would make it a truly outstanding stay.
