"Not as good as we expected"

For a restaurant with three Michelin stars, I expected more. We chose the five-course menu and were seated at the bar, which felt noticeably darker and less inviting than the main dining area. While the food was very good, it didn’t strike me as being significantly better than what I’ve experienced at two-star establishments. Beyond the dishes themselves, the overall ambiance and service lacked that elevated, memorable touch I was hoping for. To make matters worse, the small gift we received at the end of the evening contained ingredients my husband is allergic to, despite us mentioning this at the start of dinner. All in all, I’ve had more complete and enjoyable dining experiences at several two-star restaurants.

"Underwhelming"

My friends and I were really looking forward to dining here, but sadly the evening fell flat. The vegetarian menu lacked creativity and inspiration — there was none of the color, brightness, or playfulness you’d expect from a high-end plant-based dining experience. Overall, it felt underwhelming and forgettable. Unfortunately, we won’t be coming back.

"To do but not to do again"

The dining room felt more like a train station café—lacking personality, atmosphere, or distinctive décor. Being right next to the bar with no partition wall, the loud music only added to the sense of disconnection. Even the dishes and cutlery seemed ordinary, not what one expects from a three-Michelin-star establishment. The chef never came out to greet the guests, which was disappointing. As for the food itself, it was indeed quite good—exceptional even—but still felt overpriced for what was offered. Overall, it’s surprising this restaurant holds three stars. Worth experiencing once, but not a place I would return to.

"Eleven Madison Park – just OK"

Expensive dining can be intimidating — from what to wear to how much the evening will cost — but as someone in the hospitality industry, I’ve always dreamed of visiting Eleven Madison Park. To their credit, the team immediately put me at ease. Everyone was warm, kind, and welcoming. Watching the different staff in varied uniforms — from suits to vests to aprons — added an interesting element of theater to the service. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the anticipation. The first course of tomato consommé with a tomato tart was excellent and set high expectations. But as the meal progressed, the courses became less memorable. A dish of cold fava beans with coriander blossoms felt uninspired, and another course, while beautiful on the plate, tasted like an “old plant” — so much so that we left it untouched. Dessert was equally underwhelming: sliced strawberries with a marshmallow-like whipped cream and a fruit mochi that arrived ice-cold and still frozen. For a three Michelin-starred restaurant, I expected much more refinement. Having recently experienced The Ranch Hudson Valley’s vegan menu, which was truly exceptional, I know that plant-based cuisine can be inventive, flavorful, and extraordinary. By comparison, Eleven Madison Park’s vegan tasting menu felt overpriced (about $48 per course) and lacking in creativity. In the end, the most memorable part of the evening was the kind hospitality and the small granola gift at the end — tasty, yes, but hardly justification for such a steep price. This experience taught me that Michelin stars don’t always guarantee magic on the plate, and I’ll be looking elsewhere for my next fine dining splurge.

"Great experience but a bit overpriced"

Overall, dining at Eleven Madison Park was a memorable experience. The service was truly top tier—every waiter and staff member was impeccably coordinated, and I even had the chance to visit the kitchen at the end, which was a special touch. Unfortunately, I can’t give it five stars. For a vegan restaurant, the price felt excessive considering it was only nine courses with no pre-bites. While it was fun to experience once, I don’t see myself returning.

"Overrated, Overpriced, & Not Worth a Special Journey"

I really struggled to write a review of our experience at Eleven Madison Park because it was so uneven. The bottom line is that it’s overpriced and overrated. While the setting was interesting and the service good, the food — which should be the centerpiece — was disappointing. For the price, I expected more exotic vegetables, but the menu mostly featured beets, peas, mushrooms, artichokes, and asparagus. Visually, the dishes were underwhelming and among the least stunning I’ve encountered at high-end restaurants. The only real standouts were the mushroom soup and the bread courses. Unfortunately, the experience was further diminished by the lack of any takeaway card or detailed list of the dishes and wines we enjoyed. The small granola sample at the end was a nice gesture, but it hardly made up for the rest. Overall, this was not value for money and definitely not worth a special journey.

"Pure Bliss!"

Whether you’ve been vegan or vegetarian for decades or are simply curious to explore Michelin-starred plant-based cuisine, this is an extraordinary experience not to be missed. Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the elegant ambience and the impeccable staff, who deliver thoughtful, detailed explanations of each dish (you’ll wish you could record them to recreate the recipes at home!). The wine pairing is highly recommended, with a phenomenal selection that complements the courses beautifully—though you can also order by the glass or bottle if you prefer. Dietary restrictions? No problem. Whether you’re gluten-free, soy-free, celiac, or even vegan no-oil, the team seamlessly customizes the menu to accommodate, ensuring every guest enjoys a personalized dining journey.

"You don’t have to be vegan to fall in love with this restaurant."

I first dined at Eleven Madison Park a year ago with a vegan friend, and the experience was unforgettable. The ambiance was perfect — lively but not loud — and the service was stellar, attentive without being intrusive. The food was both delicious and innovative. I’m thrilled to report that my recent visit, this time with my daughter and son-in-law (a self-proclaimed “burger guy”), was just as exceptional. From the “butter” to the poblano peppers, the fried eggplant, and the corn soup — every dish was absolutely delicious, and we enjoyed every single bite. Eleven Madison Park continues to impress in every way. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to return again soon.

"Lovely But Eat First!"

Food was flavorful and inventive, though the theme of “finger food” (hinted at only by the warm hand towel at the start) came as a surprise—utensils appeared only for peas and asparagus. Portions were extremely small, leaving us heading to Wagamama afterward, and the single bread choice (a croissant) felt underwhelming compared to what’s teased online. While the tastes impressed, some dishes leaned salty and the udon was overcooked, so definitely don’t arrive starving. Service was attentive but inconsistent, with each table receiving different stories about dishes like the clay urn and asparagus, and our server, Ben, made it clear he wasn’t thrilled about presenting coriander flowers at the table. We missed out on the cocktail carafe other tables enjoyed, and questions about their new breakfast croissants went unanswered. Finally, while the evening began in pleasant light, rock music and a dim dining room didn’t suit the delicate tasting menu. Overall: Food 4 stars, Service 4 stars, Atmosphere 3 stars.

"Fine dining"

Fine dining at its finest! The atmosphere was thoughtfully designed and visually stunning. While the meal didn’t fully live up to its beautiful presentation in terms of taste, it was still an enjoyable and memorable dining experience.

The food was absolutely delicious, and our server was so kind, going out of their way to make my friend’s birthday feel special. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches and warm service. I’ll definitely be coming back again soon, this time with my husband!

"Stunning setting, but service and food fell short of expectations"

My wife and I are vegan and had been looking forward to dining at Eleven Madison Park for quite some time. When we finally secured a Friday lunchtime booking for the full tasting menu, our expectations were high. The setting is stunning — sunlight pouring through the large windows and art placed with care made the room feel truly special. It created the perfect backdrop for what we hoped would be an extraordinary meal. Unfortunately, the service didn’t meet the same standard. The experience felt mechanical at times, lacking the warmth one expects from a restaurant of this caliber. The hostess abruptly cut off my wife during small talk to hand us off to a waiter, which set an awkward tone. Throughout the meal, different servers rotated at our table, leading to inconsistency — some were engaging and knowledgeable, while others seemed disengaged. Even the manager’s presence felt selective, as nearby guests had to specifically request a visit. As for the food, presentation and creativity were impressive, with dishes that were visually stunning and clearly well thought out. However, the execution was uneven. A tempura dish, for example, had inconsistent seasoning — overly salty in some bites, bland in others. That said, a few plates stood out and highlighted the kitchen’s potential. Overall, it was a lovely afternoon in a beautiful space, but the uneven service and hit-or-miss flavors left us underwhelmed. In a city like New York, with its abundance of innovative vegan dining, we left feeling that Eleven Madison Park simply didn’t deliver the value or magic we had anticipated.

"A place for unforgettable memories"

I’ve had the pleasure of visiting twice—once for my birthday and another time with my daughter for the alumni Alex Sanchez dinner—and both experiences were truly unforgettable. The service and presentation are impeccable, and every dish reflects the passion and care of the chefs behind it. It’s not an everyday dining spot, but when you do visit, it leaves a lasting impression. While it is on the pricier side, every moment and bite is worth it for the memories created.
