"Rather fancy"

I dined here as a solo traveler, and while the experience was enjoyable, I think it would be even more fun with a group. There were a few slightly awkward moments at the start, just sitting and waiting for things to unfold. That said, the food was absolutely fantastic. The flavors were new and exciting—particularly the Rosella sorbet, which I’d never encountered before. The combination of the sorbet with the crunchy bits was a delightful surprise. Full credit to the kitchen for such creativity! One tip for solo diners: avoid sitting all alone together. When everyone is focused on their food and phones, it can feel a bit uncomfortable or like a silent competition from table to table. Overall, the food was spectacular, and I would happily return—next time, I’ll bring company!

"Brilliant food for those who can wait"

I visited on February 1st for their monthly menu and spent three hours dining alone for nine courses. Unfortunately, the slow pacing between dishes—at least 15 minutes between each—made the experience feel longer than necessary, especially given there were only two menu options: vegetarian and non-vegetarian. The manager mentioned it was the first day of this menu, but it was disappointing that the restaurant hadn’t addressed this issue despite previous reviews. Some staff members need additional training. One forgot the menu during explanation, while another had difficulty communicating in English, which affected the flow of service. The food itself was excellent. I started with cocktails and small bites, then enjoyed a homemade seabass spring roll with marvelous smoke and texture—though the second piece became soggy due to the long wait. The squid dish was the highlight: perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The pork belly was good, though I would have preferred it slightly more tender. The tamarind palate cleanser with rice liquor was refreshing. Dessert, particularly the coconut rice waffle with Bantei Srey ice cream, was a lovely pairing. Overall, I paid $72 USD for the meal plus a mocktail, still water, and 10% tax. Superb food for those who can be patient, but service timing and staff training need improvement.

"Taste is good but waiting too long"

We enjoyed the taste of every dish—truly a valuable experience for authentic Khmer cuisine. However, the wait between courses was quite long, which affected the overall flow of the meal. Despite this, the quality and flavors made it worthwhile.

"Excellent service and environment. Food lacking."

We were excited to try this highly rated restaurant, and the service truly lived up to expectations. The kitchen was spotless and efficiently run, and the ambiance, with its Cambodian mid-century modern design, was stunning. Unfortunately, the food fell short. None of us enjoyed it, despite being accustomed to high-end dining. Compared to other modern Cambodian restaurants like Malis and 1932, Embassy just didn’t measure up. That said, the team seemed genuinely dedicated, and perhaps we simply had an off night.

"Unexpected…but recommended"

This restaurant pleasantly surprised us with its fine dining setting, attentive service, and beautifully presented plates. While some of the younger staff could use a bit more experience, their professionalism and friendliness were evident and will surely improve over time. A couple of points to note: there is only a single set menu, and the waiting time between courses felt excessively long—2.5 hours is more suited to a Michelin-star tasting menu with ten courses, not this menu. The cuisine is creative and of good quality, but we would recommend avoiding dishes commonly found elsewhere, such as beef Massaman, to make the experience more unique.

"Nice packaging for average content"

The menu was unique and tempting, but in the end, few dishes truly stood out. Our appetizer, supposedly scallop, had the texture of tofu and lacked the expected flavor. When questioned, the waitress checked and returned saying there had been a mistake—though no further clarification was given. The marinated duck with squash, jackfruit puree, and pineapple caramel sauce was overpowered by the pineapple, masking the accompanying flavors. On the positive side, the roselle flower sorbet and the desserts were enjoyable. Wine pairing was underwhelming: four glasses included sparkling, one sweet, and another sweet wine, offering little variety. Prices exclude VAT, so expect an additional 10%. The service was pleasant and attentive, though the ritual of placing napkins on knees felt unnecessary. Arriving at 7:30 p.m., we didn’t leave until 11 p.m.—3.5 hours is a long time for dinner.

"A great place to dine"

We visited this restaurant after reading excellent reviews online, and it lived up to the hype. The venue is beautiful and perfect for a special occasion, with attentive service and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. The food was overall delicious—most courses were fun and flavorful, though a few dishes had a slightly fishy taste for my liking. Highlights included complimentary top-up ice cream and fancy glass-bottled still water at no extra cost. On the downside, the kids’ steak was a bit dry and chewy, and the cocktail selection was limited. It’s also impressive that the restaurant is wholly run by women—a definite #supportgirlpower bonus. Overall, we highly recommend giving this place a try!
