"Be aware of cancelled flights"

It was extremely disappointing that our flight was cancelled, resulting in our original 6-hour layover turning into a 13-hour wait — with no accommodation or meaningful support provided. For an airline of this size, it's unacceptable to leave passengers in such a situation without offering even basic comfort or rest arrangements.

"Etihad needs to try more , Emirates wins hands down"

Decent Long-Haul Option, but Lacks the Polish of Emirates Etihad offers a solid, middle-of-the-road experience for long-haul travelers. Their Boeing Dreamliner fleet features well-designed interiors, but seat comfort, pitch, and legroom in economy may not suit taller or larger passengers. Food and drink offerings are satisfactory, though there seems to be inconsistency in the vegetarian vs. non-vegetarian meal ratio. Where Etihad notably falls short is in service. Cabin crew appear either overstretched or undertrained, and while courteous, they sometimes lack the polish seen in top-tier competitors. Limited English proficiency among some staff may pose minor communication hurdles. Overall, Etihad is a reasonable choice—especially if tickets are discounted. However, for those willing to spend a bit more, Emirates consistently delivers a superior experience in both comfort and service.

"Deeply Disappointed – Never Flying Etihad Again"

I had high expectations from Etihad Airways, especially given its reputation and the glowing reviews I’d heard. Unfortunately, my experience—on what was supposed to be the longest and most comfortable leg of our journey—was nothing short of miserable. Traveling with my young son and retired parents, comfort and quality service were a priority. We chose Etihad believing it would deliver a reliable, premium experience. Instead, it turned out to be the worst flight of our entire trip. Even before boarding, the issues began. I contacted Etihad’s customer service twice prior to the flight and was met with confusion and indifference both times. The representatives seemed poorly trained and uninterested in helping—making the process frustrating and unprofessional. The aircraft itself felt outdated and run-down. The food was bland and forgettable, and legroom was extremely limited, which made things especially uncomfortable for my elderly parents. To make matters worse, the in-flight entertainment system didn’t function for the first two hours—and once it did, it was underwhelming at best. While the cabin crew weren’t exactly rude, they were robotic and disengaged. Not a single interaction felt warm or hospitable, which is something I’d expected from a top-tier airline. On the same trip, we also flew with Emirates, Singapore Airlines, and Air New Zealand—all of which delivered outstanding service. Etihad, in contrast, was a letdown on every front. We paid a premium for what felt like a budget airline experience. Disappointed is an understatement. Etihad may have once been a great airline, but based on our recent experience, they’ve clearly lost their edge. We won’t be flying with them again.

"Everything went well from boarding to landing in Phuket. Hingly recommend to anyone who wants to fly with a quality airl"

The Best Flight of My Life! This was hands down the best flight experience I’ve ever had. The food was absolutely amazing, the staff were incredibly helpful, and the seats were super comfortable. I highly recommend flying with this airline — in fact, I found it even better than Qatar Airways, which says a lot. Truly exceptional from start to finish!

"Shocking Airline!"

We booked our holiday in November 2024 and specifically requested window seats for our flight, as our son had difficulty flying during a previous trip six years ago. We explained this in every interaction we had, and although there were no guarantees, we were assured multiple times that as a family of three, the chances of getting window seats were high. We were also told that if we needed to change seats, we could do so at check-in without any extra charge. However, upon check-in, we were assigned central seats. When we contacted Etihad, they informed us that we had been booked on a 'value' fare, meaning we had to pay extra to change seats, even from one standard seat to another. We were unaware of this 'value' fare distinction at the time of booking. Additionally, there was no mention of this on any of our booking confirmations—only on the boarding passes for the flight from the UK to Abu Dhabi. The lack of transparency regarding the fare class was frustrating. When we checked in for our return flights, we faced the same issue: central seats were allocated, and we were again required to pay to change to window seats. At Abu Dhabi airport, we visited Etihad Guest Services, but the receptionist just called the contact center, where we received the same response: we had the 'value' fare, and therefore, we had to pay to change seats. Once again, the staff showed no empathy and were rude, leaving us feeling upset. We reached out to our travel agent, who informed us that Etihad had introduced a new ticket system in February with varying fare levels that affected seat selection. Unfortunately, Etihad never informed us of this change, and as a result, we had no flexibility with our seat choices. We were further frustrated by a system glitch that prevented us from booking seats via the app for our return flight. We spent an entire afternoon trying to get our seats moved, and the contact center was unhelpful, repeatedly refusing to acknowledge the error. Ultimately, we felt penalized for booking early, which seems unfair. The treatment we received from Etihad was deeply frustrating and upsetting, especially considering our efforts to book early and ensure a comfortable experience for our family. We will no longer consider flying with Etihad and will be sharing our experience widely. After providing feedback through Etihad’s channel, we received a call asking us to call back and make an official complaint. However, the response we've received so far has been inadequate and not reflective of good customer service.

"Not for families. Not for business passangers."

Please do not fly Etihad Airways if you're traveling with a baby. Our experience was an absolute nightmare. We booked round-trip business class tickets from Tokyo to Barcelona because my wife—who is Spanish—wanted our child to be born in Spain. Before booking, we confirmed with Etihad that once the baby was born and had a passport, there would be no issue adding him to our return flight. Fast forward to now: we are in Barcelona, the baby is born, we have the passport—and we cannot get in touch with Etihad at all. We've spent hours, days, trying to reach someone via chat and phone. The customer service is non-existent. No responses, just endless waiting in queues with no outcome. To ensure safety and comfort for our newborn, we even purchased business class tickets and reserved seats together. Etihad cancelled our assigned seats without any notice and scattered us across the cabin—as if someone else on board is going to care for our one-month-old baby. It’s not just unacceptable; it’s outrageous. We continue to try every possible way to reach them, but this kind of service is simply not tolerable—especially at business class prices. Families, be warned: Etihad Airways is

"Very good"

Smooth Trip with Great Service! Had a very nice trip with Etihad. The service was excellent, the airplane was clean, and the food tasted great. Departure was on time, and the crew was professional throughout. Boarding was quick and easy, with no delays. Thanks, Etihad, for a smooth and pleasant journey!

"Must consider enhancing baby-based facilities."

Short-Haul Flights Could Use Better Baby-Friendly Amenities On shorter connecting flights, baby-friendly facilities seem to take a back seat compared to long-haul journeys. For a smoother experience and consistent service, airlines could improve essentials like baby meals and cutlery, access to infant milk, cleaner blankets, and a more proactive attitude from the crew. Small changes can make a big difference for traveling families.

"terrible exp"

I recently flew from New Delhi to Barcelona via Abu Dhabi with Etihad Airways, and the experience was deeply disappointing. Our flight from New Delhi departed an hour late — understandable, as delays happen — but what followed was far worse. During the meal service, both my friend in the middle seat and I (in the aisle seat) were completely ignored. While the rest of the cabin had finished eating and the crew was already collecting trash, we still hadn't been served. We had to call out and ask why we were overlooked. Eventually, they returned with two food packets and a very unconvincing, cold apology. The crew throughout the flight had a visibly haughty attitude, with forced smiles that felt anything but welcoming. On the connecting flight from Abu Dhabi to Barcelona, the same issue occurred — while passengers around me were served juice and Oreos, I was again skipped. When I requested something, a flight attendant handed me two small cheese cracker packets without any explanation. Later, during the breakfast service, I requested a vegetarian meal and was told the French toast was finished. Instead, I was handed a reheated Indian vegetarian dinner pack — not ideal for a morning meal, but I ate it out of hunger. The only positive aspect of the journey was the ground staff at New Delhi airport, who were professional and genuinely courteous. Overall, this experience fell far below expectations, especially for an international carrier that claims to offer premium service.

"nice flight"

A Great Experience with a Top International Airline It was truly nice to fly with such an excellent airline—definitely one of the best for international flights. From the check-in counter to the in-flight crew, everyone was kind and professional. There were plenty of entertainment options onboard, and the food and drinks were great. A smooth and enjoyable travel experience all around!

"Avoid Etihad if you can"

My experience with Etihad Airways was extremely disappointing. The service was poor and the food quality was terrible. Despite assurances that alcohol would be served later in the flight, it never came. Additionally, I was shocked by the excessive charge of $300 for one extra bag. To make matters worse, the flight took off earlier than the scheduled time, which could have caused serious issues for late-arriving passengers. Overall, it felt like a premium airline in name only, with little regard for basic customer expectations.

"Don’t waste your money !"

Save your money—Etihad Airways was a major disappointment. The plane was dirty, the staff seemed miserable and disengaged, and customer service was severely lacking. I waited over half an hour just to get a drink, even though the crew could clearly see the call button was on. On such a long flight, receiving only two drinks is unacceptable. The food was barely lukewarm, and the beverages were so stewed they required so much milk they ended up cold. To make matters worse, the blankets and pillows provided were stained and unclean. Alcoholic drink options were extremely limited—apparently brandy was available, but only if paired with coffee. While the return flight had slightly more pleasant staff and included a slice of pizza as an extra, it did little to improve the overall experience. I was told Etihad was on par with other top airlines, but I wouldn’t even rate it as basic economy.

"Good to fly with etihad"

Pleasant Flight Experience with Great Service I had a good flying experience overall. The in-flight ambiance was very pleasant, the food was tasty, and the cabin crew were attentive and responsive throughout the journey. The aircraft was well-maintained and impressively clean, which made the trip all the more comfortable. A solid experience—thank you!

"A nice airline to fly with."

Smooth Journey with Great Service and Lounge Experience It was a good experience overall. The inflight crew were very pleasant and cooperative, making the journey comfortable. The lounge at Abu Dhabi was also a highlight—relaxing, well-arranged, and a great place to unwind before the flight.

"What stood out most was the flight’s punctuality"

An Unforgettable Journey with Etihad Airways From the moment I stepped on board, Etihad Airways transformed what could have been just another flight into an exceptional travel experience. Everything—from the comfort and elegant cabin design to the impeccable hospitality—was thoughtfully curated. The crew’s warm and attentive service truly made this journey memorable. A perfect blend of luxury and care that sets Etihad apart.

"Premium service for economy prices"

Impressive Economy Experience with Etihad This was my first time flying economy with Etihad, and it truly exceeded expectations. The service was impeccable, and the new Dreamliner offered a premium feel with spacious seating and elegant fittings. It evoked a sense of air travel from a more refined era. For a long-haul journey, it was remarkably comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone seeking comfort and quality, even in economy.

"Standard of service"

I would like to share my experience during my journey from Singapore to Abu Dhabi (connecting flight). Unfortunately, I felt that I was treated differently compared to other passengers by one of the female flight attendants, who was wearing a pant suit. While I was queuing for the washroom in the waiting area where most of the flight attendants were standing, this particular female attendant approached me and asked me to leave the waiting area, stating that “you need to wait outside as the room is packed and not getting enough oxygen.” She said this in front of all the staff. I respected her suggestion and stepped out into the walkway behind the waiting area. However, when other passengers from the opposite direction arrived and waited in the exact same spot I had been in, she had no issue with them. Later, a male flight attendant, who was pushing the trolley, noticed I was blocking the way and offered to let me rejoin the queue. His approach was polite and considerate, which I appreciated. The part that left me disappointed was the explanation about the oxygen. It felt odd to me since the entire area is connected with open spaces, and there was no indication that the area was particularly suffocating. I would have appreciated it more if the flight attendant had suggested stepping outside calmly, rather than addressing me in a firm manner in front of others. The service I received from this particular flight attendant made me feel uncomfortable and disappointed. This is not the level of customer service I expect, and I hope Etihad will review this situation to improve the quality of service.

Exceptional Long-Haul Experience with Etihad A great travel experience from start to finish.
