"Seat change"

I recently booked my flight online with EVA Airways and specifically requested an aisle seat, which was confirmed at the time of booking. However, upon check-in at the airport, I was surprised to find that my seat had been changed to a middle row seat without any prior notice. I immediately raised this concern with the check-in staff, but they could not offer any explanation for the change. They informed me that the aircraft was fully booked and that no aisle seat was available. Several other passengers near me also mentioned that their seat assignments had been changed, which added to the confusion. After my flight, I reached out to EVA Airways' Customer Services Department, seeking an explanation for the seat change, but to date, I have not received a satisfactory response. This lack of communication and proper explanation from the airline has been frustrating, and I’m hoping for some clarity on why this happened.

"Eve Air is a great airline."

Top-Notch Airline – A Truly Pleasant Experience This airline is a cut above the rest—better than any Western airline I’ve flown with. The staff were incredibly courteous and professional throughout the journey, and the aircraft was well maintained. We were served two delicious meals, and there was a great selection of movies to help pass the time. Despite the 14-hour duration, the flight was smooth and comfortable, making it a very good experience overall. I really appreciate the hard work of the flight attendants and crew who take on these long Pacific routes—it can’t be easy, and yet they remain kind and attentive. Thank you for making every trip feel safe and pleasant.

"My Love-Hate relationship with EVA"

Eva Air: The Rollercoaster Romance of Airlines Oh Eva... where do I even begin? First, you completely stress me out with your absurdly strict 7kg carry-on policy. Seriously? The luggage itself weighs two kilos empty! And don’t get me started on your so-called Premium Economy—it’s not worth the hype. Like a toxic ex, I swore I was done with you for good. But then… I gave in. Just one more try—this time in Economy, because the timing worked. And what do you do? You win me over again. A mostly empty Pacific crossing, doting flight attendants, and what I can only describe as Poor Man’s lie-flat seating. I had an entire row to myself, with all the pillows and blankets I could ever want. Heaven. I know it was a rare treat. I know you’ll probably break my heart again. But after such an unexpectedly amazing 14-hour flight… how can I stay mad?

"Good Flights"

Check-in was smooth with very helpful staff, and I had the chance to use the EVA Air Lounge in Bangkok—an excellent lounge experience overall. My flight on the BKK–TPE–SFO route was operated by a Boeing 777-300ER. EVA Air has a few different configurations for their 777s, and unfortunately, mine had the 3-4-3 layout in Economy. The cabin felt quite cramped, especially in the center section, where legroom was further limited by the placement of the IFE (in-flight entertainment) box under the seat—making it tight when all four seats were occupied. Despite the cabin layout, the crew were fantastic—professional, attentive, and friendly throughout the flight. The IFE system had a great selection, and the food was also very good. Overall, a solid experience thanks to the excellent service and amenities, though the seating configuration leaves room for improvement.

"Top notch business class"

Underrated Business Class Experience – Truly Impressive This airline’s business class is definitely underrated. From start to finish, the experience exceeded expectations. The flight attendants were attentive, professional, and genuinely committed to providing excellent service. The in-flight dining was a standout—easily one of the best I’ve had in the air. I pre-ordered the lobster, and it was perfectly cooked: juicy, tender, and flavorful, especially impressive considering in-flight meal standards. The food and drink selection overall was top-notch. Also, a special shoutout to the cozy pajamas provided—they’re not only comfortable for the flight but also a fun little souvenir to take home. All in all, a refined and comfortable journey. Highly recommend this business product!

"Could make experience more enjoy"

Mixed Experience on First Direct Flight – Room for Improvement This was my first time flying direct (LHR to BKK), as I normally fly Emirates from Birmingham. While there were some positives, there were also a few major frustrations. Check-in Experience: Check-in online was fine, but once I got to Heathrow, it was chaos. The self-service kiosks for printing luggage tags were a disaster—most weren’t working, and the few that were had massive queues. Staff were trying to direct passengers, but with about eight airlines using the same setup, it was just not efficient. Unfortunately, the same issues happened again on the return leg. Onboard Experience: The plane itself was clean and comfortable, and I have to say the cabin crew were excellent—friendly and attentive throughout the flight. However, the seat recline is excessive and makes things uncomfortable, especially if the person in front of you goes full tilt. Entertainment System: This was one of the biggest letdowns for a long-haul flight. The movie selection was poor, the music options were extremely limited, and the TV programs were honestly shocking. Definitely not up to the standard expected on international routes. Food and Drink: No complaints here. The food and drink selection was actually quite good. Final Thoughts: Even though I’ll have to fly with them again due to limited options, I’m looking forward to returning to Emirates in the future—they just offer a more consistent and polished experience overall.

"Super tight economy seats"

It’s been over three years since I last flew EVA—from Toronto to Manila via Taipei—and I was shocked to find the economy seats on BR035 (Toronto–Taipei) even tighter than before. I weigh just 140 lbs, yet I had to get up and stretch 7–8 times during the flight. Anyone with a larger frame would surely struggle. By contrast, the Taipei–Manila segments (BR271/272) were much more comfortable, with noticeably better seat width and legroom. The two-piece baggage allowance is a welcome bonus if you need it. If economy-class comfort is your top priority, you may want to consider an alternative carrier for the Toronto–Taipei leg.

"great flights"

I recently flew business class with EVA Air from Toronto to Taipei, continuing on to Ho Chi Minh City—and the entire experience was fantastic. The service was top-notch, with attentive and cheerful attendants, and the food was both delicious and well-presented. On my return journey from Hanoi to Taipei and back to Toronto, the high standard was consistently maintained. From the comfortable seating to the thoughtful onboard amenities, EVA Air made long-haul travel feel effortless. I would absolutely fly with them again.

"Not bad"

I flew with this airline after visiting Yellowstone National Park in Montana, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The service stood out—flight attendants were kind, helpful, and attentive throughout the journey. One big plus was the spacious overhead cabin, which easily fit my large camera bag—a rare win for travelers with bulky gear. On the downside, the seats felt a bit narrow, and the food was just average. Still, the friendly service and storage space made it a solid option for my post-adventure flight.

"Exceptional Service Above the Clouds"

I had the pleasure of flying on flight BR392 from Toronto (YYZ) to Taipei (TPE) on December 30, 2023, and I want to highlight the exceptional service I received from crew member Tran Nhu Yen (Salim). Seated at 25G, I was truly impressed by her genuine care and attentiveness. She made sure my dietary needs were met with a special meal, and throughout the flight, her kindness, patience, and timely service stood out. Salim went above and beyond to make my journey as enjoyable as possible, and I’m deeply grateful for her dedication. This experience truly elevated my flight, and I appreciate the outstanding service provided.
