Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City

"Slightly dated four seasons"
I would agree with other reviews suggesting this property feels more like a 3.5-star experience rather than what one typically expects from a Four Seasons. The Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City has undeniable strengths, but at its current price point, it does not fully deliver the level of luxury associated with the brand. The lobby and central courtyard are absolutely gorgeous and remain the standout features of the hotel. Service during our stay was also consistently good and professional. However, the hallways, guest rooms, and especially the bathrooms feel dated and in need of a comprehensive refresh. The gym is quite small for a hotel of this category, and the pool area would also benefit from renovation to bring it in line with modern luxury standards. Overall, while the property has charm and strong service, it currently falls short of the elevated experience many guests expect from a Four Seasons stay.
"Big 5-OH in the City of Mexico"
This is a fantastic hotel. The friendliness and genuine attention to service from every single team member was simply outstanding. We have stayed at many Four Seasons properties around the world, and the team at the Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City truly ranks among the very best. From every role and at every level of experience, the people were warm, professional, and absolutely spectacular. The hotel itself is on the older side and could certainly benefit from a facelift. That said, it still delivers everything one expects from a Four Seasons stay: exceptionally comfortable beds and high-quality bedding, quiet rooms with excellent air conditioning, plush bathrobes and linens, and fantastic water pressure in the bathrooms. We were told that renovations and updates are planned in the near future, which will no doubt elevate the experience even further. But honestly, there’s no need to wait — if you’re considering staying here, go for it. The remarkable service alone makes it more than worthwhile.
"fine"
The highlight of the Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City is undoubtedly its stunning courtyard and enjoyable breakfast setting. The central garden creates a lovely atmosphere and remains the property’s strongest feature. Unfortunately, beyond that, the experience was fairly underwhelming. The bathrooms in particular are in serious need of a proper refresh, as they feel outdated compared to the standards expected of the brand. While the rooms themselves are still comfortable and pleasant overall, the bathroom condition detracts from the experience. Service was inconsistent, with some staff members coming across as less welcoming than expected. The concierges were especially hit or miss — some helpful, others not particularly engaged. The lunch restaurant and bar did not stand out in terms of quality, and the pool area was also unimpressive. Overall, while the courtyard and breakfast are definite positives, the hotel would benefit from updates and more consistent service to fully meet luxury expectations.
"Central and confortable"
We stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City while visiting Mexico, and the location proved to be very central and convenient for exploring the city. The highlight of the property is undoubtedly the stunning central courtyard — a beautifully maintained garden that creates a peaceful and elegant atmosphere in the heart of the bustling city. We particularly enjoyed the bar and restaurant, both of which offered a great ambiance and enjoyable dining experiences. The staff throughout the hotel were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and eager to assist, making us feel well taken care of during our stay. However, the rooms were somewhat disappointing. They felt a bit old-fashioned and in need of updating. Unfortunately, our room also had a lingering smell of smoke, as if someone had previously smoked there. That said, the hotel responded promptly and did its best to eliminate the odor, handling our requests with professionalism and genuine willingness to help. Overall, while the service and common areas were excellent, the rooms would benefit from a refresh to fully align with the luxury expectations of the Four Seasons brand.
"Poor quality for the price."
We recently stayed for nine nights at the Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City and, unfortunately, left feeling genuinely disappointed. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations — which are clearly necessary — but we were not informed of this prior to arrival and only found out at check-in. We arrived around 9:00 PM after a long international flight and were greeted by a large, loud Fashion Week party taking place in the courtyard. While the event ended around 11:00 PM, it was hardly the peaceful welcome one expects from what is often described as a “city sanctuary.” The event-driven atmosphere continued over the following days, including Women’s Day and Mother’s Day celebrations, with more loud courtyard functions and BBQ events. At times, it felt as though the hotel was prioritizing event revenue over the comfort and overall guest experience. The room itself was also below expectations. Carpets were dated, worn, and visibly dirty. The couch and cushions were tired and in need of replacement or removal. Having stayed at many Four Seasons properties over the years, this was by far our most disappointing experience. We communicated our dissatisfaction to staff, including concerns about concierge services and the poolside team. We were asked, “What would you like us to do?” — but what we truly wanted was a noticeable improvement in service and overall standards. We were told to expect a “BIG SURPRISE,” which turned out to be complimentary Four Seasons–branded bags, hats, and luggage tags left in our room. While the gesture was polite, it did not meaningfully address the concerns. Branded merchandise is not much comfort when the experience itself falls short. To be clear, this was not a minor investment — we spent approximately £7,500 GBP over nine days, including meals and drinks. Yet many interactions throughout our stay were marked by missed items, rushed service, cold food, miscommunication, or a general lack of the service excellence synonymous with the brand. While many team members were individually friendly, the overall experience has unfortunately left us reconsidering our loyalty to the Four Seasons brand.
"Something to improve"
My experience at the Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City was marked by truly excellent service. The staff were attentive, professional, and consistently willing to assist with any request, reflecting the high hospitality standards the brand is known for. The building itself has significant character, and the central courtyard is particularly beautiful—peaceful, elegant, and full of charm. That said, the rooms did not fully meet expectations. They felt noticeably outdated and did not reflect the contemporary luxury typically associated with a Four Seasons property. The bathrooms were especially underwhelming, both in terms of design and functionality. Additionally, the hallways showed visible signs of wear, with a somewhat tired appearance. While certain updates have clearly been implemented, the hotel would greatly benefit from a more comprehensive renovation to bring the overall experience in line with the brand’s usual world-class standards.
"Elegance and lightness"
The Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City is truly an iconic property located in one of the most prestigious areas of the city. Its elegant architecture, excellent service, and very comfortable facilities create a refined and memorable experience from the moment you arrive. The breakfast restaurant is set around a stunning central atrium filled with lush plants and trees, offering a beautiful and serene atmosphere that enhances the start of the day. The décor is contemporary yet thoughtfully accented with subtle Mexican details, adding character and local charm to the overall ambiance. We genuinely enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking elegance, comfort, and attentive service in Mexico City.
"Elegant breakfast with room for improvement"
I recently visited the Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City with my family for breakfast. The setting is undeniably beautiful: refined, impeccably maintained, and surrounded by lush greenery. The outdoor terrace, where breakfast is served, is particularly charming and creates a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere that makes the experience feel special from the moment you arrive. The savory selection was varied and satisfying, offering a good range of options. However, the sweet offerings did not entirely meet expectations for a hotel of this caliber. Packaged jams, for example, felt somewhat out of place in such a prestigious setting. Homemade preserves, high-quality artisanal honey, or more refined pastry preparations would have been more in line with the brand’s luxury standards. The croissants were also slightly disappointing, lacking the softness and quality one would anticipate from a property of this level. Overall, the experience was enjoyable thanks to the elegant environment and pleasant ambiance. That said, at the Four Seasons, one naturally expects an exceptional level of attention to detail—especially when it comes to the finer elements that elevate a good breakfast into a truly memorable one.
"amazing"
We had an incredible stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City. From start to finish, the experience was seamless and truly memorable. A special thank you to Isabela at reception for her exceptional service — she was warm, professional, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. The food was excellent, the public areas were beautifully maintained and inviting, and the room itself was superb — comfortable, elegant, and thoughtfully appointed. Overall, a flawless experience that we would happily repeat.
"A good stay overall, the hotel needs some improvements."
I stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City for four nights in December 2025, and overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The property is expansive and centered around a stunning interior courtyard filled with lush greenery. This serene space hosts the main breakfast restaurant, as well as another restaurant and bar that occasionally serves breakfast. The atmosphere throughout the courtyard is peaceful and inviting, making it a lovely setting to start the day. The rooms are generously sized and thoughtfully equipped with amenities such as a Nespresso machine, kettle with a selection of teas, and a Dyson hair dryer. The lobby is particularly charming in the evenings, when the fireplaces are lit, creating a warm, cozy, and welcoming ambiance. Breakfast offered a good variety of fresh, high-quality products, and the service across the hotel was consistently professional, attentive, and polished. However, for a hotel of this caliber, there are areas that could benefit from improvement. Sleep quality is a fundamental element of luxury hospitality, yet the mattresses and pillows feel somewhat outdated and could be upgraded to meet modern five-star expectations. Additionally, the rooms lack a proper heating system. The only option is the air conditioning unit, which is quite noisy and does not heat efficiently, leaving the room uncomfortably cold at times. Installing a modern, dedicated heating system would significantly enhance guest comfort. Lastly, while the hotel maintains a classic charm, parts of the interior design feel dated and would benefit from a thoughtful refresh to better align with contemporary luxury standards.
