"Best best best"

We had an amazing 3-night stay at this lovely resort. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the views were absolutely stunning. The buffet restaurant offered a wide variety of delicious and authentic Thai dishes that we thoroughly enjoyed. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay even more memorable. Overall, we loved every moment and would highly recommend this resort for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

"Lovely staff, but the hotel is just ok"

I wasn’t entirely impressed with the Four Seasons Koh Samui. While the resort offers stunning views from its hillside location, navigating the steep terrain can be inconvenient unless you rely on the buggy service. The property felt expensive for the low season, and I was surprised there were only two restaurants. The Mediterranean restaurant by the beach had a limited menu, lacked ambiance, and felt lifeless, though the Thai restaurant served quite good food. Another downside was that both the main pool and the private room pool were uncomfortably cold; a slight heating would have made a big difference. Overall, it’s not a bad hotel, but for the price, I expected more. Given these factors, I probably wouldn’t return.

"Perfectible"

Our family had high expectations for the Four Seasons in Koh Samui, hoping it would be the pinnacle of luxury and service. While the resort impressed in many ways, there were a few challenges during our stay. On the first day, pool service was slower than expected, and we had to approach staff to place our orders. Our room was spacious but lacked light, had an average view, and was surrounded by heavy vegetation, which unfortunately meant we dealt with numerous mosquito bites despite using the provided mosquito net. Dining was mixed—Thai cuisine was flavorful but sometimes too pungent, and breakfast service was slow at times. However, when we shared our concerns at check-out, the management responded quickly. Mosquito treatment was provided, excellent breakfast and pool service were ensured, and thoughtful touches were made for our daughters’ room. Staff attentiveness and little details like food, juices, and massages throughout the day truly enhanced the experience. The beach was beautiful but pebbly, and I had a minor injury while walking on it. Despite these minor setbacks, all were due to the environment rather than the staff, who were professional, friendly, and attentive throughout. Overall, we had a great stay and are grateful to the Four Seasons team for their hospitality.

"Beautiful place but many things to improve."

The Four Seasons Koh Samui is undeniably a heavenly and breathtakingly beautiful resort, surrounded by stunning nature and a picturesque beach. However, our 6-day stay was marred by a series of service and facility issues that detracted from the experience. During lunch by the pool, two dishes were wrong, and it took 1.5 hours to receive them. The first dish served, a hamburger, arrived in pieces. While the manager later apologized and waived the charge, incidents like this set a frustrating tone. Throughout our stay, we faced repeated problems: faulty alarms, unresponsive buggy service, bathroom safety issues, low water pressure, malfunctioning phones, a dirty pool, and a non-working coffee machine. While each issue may seem minor individually, combined they made our holiday stressful. These problems highlighted a lack of proactive maintenance, which is especially disappointing for a luxury resort. Some staff members, including Peter at reception, Simone, and the arrivals team, were helpful and kind, assisting us with requests like changing flights. Breakfast was excellent with high-quality offerings, but other meals, including lunch at the beach restaurant, were below expectations for a 5-star property. Overall, while the natural beauty and setting are remarkable, service shortcomings, noise from children, and maintenance issues made the stay less relaxing than expected. For the price and promises of luxury, these issues were unacceptable, leaving us disappointed despite the stunning surroundings.

"Magical hotel but some minor improvements needed"

This hotel is truly magical—the location, staff, rooms, pool, beach, and food all exceeded our expectations. While luxury comes at a price, it is definitely worth it. The buggy team is very helpful, the check-in staff are lovely, and it’s wonderful to be greeted by name. However, a few things could be improved. I had emailed the hotel before check-in to mention that it was my wife’s birthday two days after our arrival, but nothing was arranged—not even a small gesture like a slice of cake. This was disappointing, given that almost everything else was perfect. Clearer communication across all channels would help the hotel fully live up to the high standards expected of Four Seasons.

"Gorgeous resort but with some major problems"

My husband and I stayed here for three nights during our honeymoon, hoping to splurge and relax. The resort’s location and facilities were everything we had dreamed of—spectacular views, a beautiful beach, and incredible guest rooms with private pools overlooking stunning scenery. Unfortunately, several aspects of the resort were stressful and disappointing. The food was both overpriced and mediocre. The Thai restaurant, in particular, served dishes that tasted like they were not made with fresh ingredients—one chicken dish was even undercooked. Meals were shockingly expensive, with a single dish for each of us costing at least $70, not including drinks. Breakfast was not included, and even the a la carte options were small and overpriced, leaving us frustrated. Additionally, the remote location made leaving the resort for meals difficult. Staff often refused to call local taxis, pushing the resort’s more expensive transport instead. This left us feeling trapped and taken advantage of, which overshadowed what should have been a relaxing and luxurious experience. While the resort itself is stunning and the rooms are absolutely worth the price, the dining setup and lack of flexibility made our stay stressful. If money is no object, the experience may still be enjoyable, but for those who have saved for a special trip, the food and accessibility issues can leave a lasting sense of frustration.

"Lovely."

This Four Seasons property is absolutely gorgeous, offering stunning views and top-tier luxury, just as expected. Our room was beautifully designed, impeccably maintained, and featured a private lap pool, all overlooking the sparkling sea. Even though I didn’t use the bath with a sea view, I often stepped inside just to admire it. A truly memorable and visually spectacular stay.

"AMAZING BEAUTIFUL HOTEL, BUT I GOT BED BUGS"

The hotel itself was absolutely amazing, featuring private pools, beautiful surroundings, and friendly staff, making for a gorgeous stay. Unfortunately, I experienced bed bugs during my visit. While bed bugs can appear anywhere, the way Four Seasons handled the situation was disappointing. The hotel did wash all my clothes, but I had to borrow clothing from fellow travelers in the meantime, and there seemed to be little concern from the staff. Attempts to contact Four Seasons corporate were unsuccessful, leaving me frustrated and dissatisfied. Despite the beauty and luxury of the resort, the inadequate handling of this issue significantly affected my overall experience.

"Great resort BUT…"

The Four Seasons offers a wonderful location, exceptional accommodations, and outstanding staff, making for a truly luxurious stay. However, the limited restaurant options became noticeable after four days, as the menus started to feel repetitive. Given the brand’s reputation for luxury, expanding the dining choices would enhance the experience and encourage guests to spend more time enjoying the property.

"But for the mosquitoes…"

We generally love the Four Seasons brand in Asia—premium rates, but consistently excellent service and facilities. This stay in Koh Samui largely upheld that reputation, though some issues impacted our experience. The standout problem was the mosquitoes and bugs. My two young children each had over 40 bites in just a few days, while my wife and I each had around 20. Despite understanding that the resort is built in a rainforest, the sheer number of bites made some moments almost unbearable. Another issue was the in-villa F&B service. The villa supervisor, Gitty, lacked sufficient training, leading to billing confusion that resulted in multiple calls to our room late at night—disturbing our children. While Alvin, the director of rooms, apologized and tried to make amends, the disruption was frustrating and unexpected at a Four Seasons property. Minor inconveniences included reliance on resort buggies, which occasionally required waiting even when the resort was not full. On the positive side, the family pool villa was excellent and well-maintained, the overall service was top-notch, the app for room service and spa bookings was convenient, the spa and food offerings were very good, and the pool rivaled other luxury Four Seasons properties. In conclusion, we truly enjoyed our stay and appreciated many aspects of the resort. However, the bug situation, combined with service glitches, was significant, especially with young children. For those paying premium rates, these issues are important to note.
