"An unmissable experience in Mexico City"
We had a very nice experience at this hotel. The property itself is lovely, and the service was consistently attentive. Alejandro and Marcelo stood out for their excellent care and attention, ensuring everything ran smoothly during our stay. Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable!
"Historic hotel on the Zocalo"
The JW Marriott Hotel Mexico City delivers a consistently high-quality experience. The recent renovations make both the rooms and common areas feel fresh, modern, and upscale. The bar and restaurant are excellent, offering convenient options for both drinks and meals. Service throughout our stay was attentive and professional, and the location is ideal—close to all that Polanco has to offer. Overall, a comfortable and well-positioned choice for both business and leisure travelers in Mexico City.
"Good view on the terrace"
The rooms at this hotel are comfortable and well-maintained, making for a pleasant stay. However, the food was disappointing. Many dishes seemed focused more on presentation than taste or quality. The salted soup was overly thick, the creams lacked flavor, and the stuffed turkey was particularly poor—hard, dry, and far below expectations. While the accommodations were enjoyable, the dining experience left much to be desired.
"Best restaurant in town"
Alexander and Mary were excellent—friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The food at the hotel was also delicious, adding to an overall wonderful experience.
"Wonderful experience !!!"
We knew we wanted a historic “Old Mexico” experience, and the Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico did not disappoint! From check-in to check-out, everything was exceptional. The doormen—especially Abraham in his striking red uniform—were more than helpful; their friendly smiles made us feel welcome every day. The front desk team, including Adrian and Cynthia, were incredibly accommodating, assisting with currency exchange, transportation, and any questions day or night. Pictures of the hotel barely capture its beauty. The stained glass ceiling is breathtaking, and the first ride in the classic elevator is unforgettable. We stayed in Suite 204, which looked out over the square. The room was perfectly comfortable, with excellent air conditioning and a cozy electric fireplace. Noise was never an issue, and sometimes we even opened the doors to enjoy the lively square below. The hotel’s location is incredible, right on the same square as the Presidential Palace. One evening we watched the soldiers perform the ceremonial lowering of the massive flag, complete with all the pomp and pageantry—a truly memorable experience. Breakfast was another highlight. The covered, open-air buffet offered amazing food, and the service was attentive, especially Maria. A unique bonus was watching the falcons being trained—used to keep other birds away—a fascinating and unexpected spectacle! Everything we wanted to see or do in Mexico City was within easy walking distance or a short Uber/taxi ride. The vendors around the square were fun to explore, and the nearby Hop-On Hop-Off red bus made it easy to see the city at night. We loved our stay so much that we wish we had booked longer. Returning to Mexico City, we’ll be sure to stay at the Gran Hotel again!
"Great luxury experience in historic center of city. On par with Famous Moscow Metropol, including massive beautiful stained glas"
The stained glass ceiling is absolutely beautiful, reminiscent of the iconic Metropol Hotel. From here, you also get fantastic views of the central square, which is nearly as expansive as Red Square. A truly impressive combination of architecture and scenery.
"Good stay"
Nice historic place, good treatment from Emanuel Guerrero, food could improve
"Beautiful hotel with great service and extras!"
Emmanuel Guerrero was an outstanding assistant—helpful and attentive throughout our stay. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the location is ideal, right across from the President’s residence and the central Zócalo. We’re very happy with our experience and look forward to returning on our next trip!
Gran Hotel Ciudad de México
A historic landmark hotel right on the Zócalo with ornate architecture and sweeping views of the city’s main square. Excellent for first-time visitors eager to be in the heart of the action.
