"Fabulous without unnecessary extravagance"

We were delighted to discover this fabulous restaurant on my birthday. Having read many glowing reviews (and a few less favorable ones), I arrived full of anticipation — and left completely impressed. From the moment we entered, the experience was flawless. The welcome was warm yet discreet, the setting refined and elegant without being ostentatious — the perfect stage for the gastronomic journey ahead. The presence of Guy Savoy himself was a true pleasure, adding a personal touch to an already remarkable evening. The service was impeccable: the butler, sommelier, and waiters were all attentive, professional, and perfectly timed in every course, like conductors of a culinary symphony. As for the food — simply exceptional. Each dish was a masterpiece of precision, originality, and harmony. The ingredients were of outstanding quality, the flavors balanced and deeply rooted in French tradition yet elevated to a new level of sophistication. Every plate reflected immense thought, craftsmanship, and creativity. The wine pairing was also noteworthy — not necessarily the most prestigious labels, but each wine had character, complementing the menu beautifully. Portions, while appearing modest at first, were perfectly judged — leaving us fully satisfied yet never overwhelmed. Guy Savoy has truly mastered the art of transforming dining into an emotional and sensory journey. From discovery to discovery, from emotion to emotion, we were taken to new heights of culinary delight. Thank you, Mr. Guy Savoy, for this unforgettable experience — worth every moment and every euro.

"Big kitchen …"

It’s hard not to be captivated by the decor — the majestic staircase, the young host greeting you, and the automatic door leading into a polished vestibule where you’re received with professional care. A dark corridor guides you into one of the lounges, elegantly dressed in gray with striking contemporary artworks on the walls and a stunning view of the Right Bank. The menu is undeniably tempting, and the cuisine is exquisite. The artichoke soup with truffle and its sublime brioche is exceptional and generously portioned. The Bresse poultry terrine with foie gras and artichoke is refined, and the game partridges are superbly cooked, though not unforgettable. The deconstructed millefeuille is more demonstrative than engaging, while the appetizers are exquisite and the delicate sweets, particularly the mandarin sorbet, are unforgettable. The Savoy champagne is flawless, the wine list sumptuous, and the sommelier’s recommendation of a Gevrey Chambertin proves inspired. The only minor downside lies in the slightly hectic service — frequent passages from one room to another, though attentive and friendly, can feel on edge. A room manager spending long moments with regular guests, offering gifts in view of others, also slightly disrupts the flow. There seems to be a small gap between the mastery of the kitchen and the orchestration of service, which ideally should be seamless in a house of this caliber. Yes, it is expensive, but the gastronomic quality justifies the investment, leaving truly exquisite memories.

"Thank you Mr. Savoy, I love you"

I was born in Normandy, in the land of Calvados apples, and my wife in German Saxony. We are both epicureans deeply attached to our roots and the flavors of our terroirs. One day, I watched a documentary about Mr. Guy Savoy in his chalet in Villars-sur-Ollon — the very place where our son once learned to ski — and I was struck by his authenticity, his joy in cooking for friends. Right then, I promised myself that one day we would experience his cuisine in Paris. That moment came for my wife’s birthday — the perfect occasion. This was to be our very first Michelin-starred restaurant. We are not people of luxury; we live humbly in Gennevilliers, without Rolexes or extravagance. But that day, we treated ourselves to a lunch at Guy Savoy’s restaurant at the Monnaie de Paris, and it became a memory we will carry forever. Our journey began with the metro: Line 13, then Line 14 to Châtelet, followed by a walk through the elegant streets of the “Louis Vuitton” district, past the White Horse Café and a Rolls Royce Cullinan proudly bearing a German plate from Regensburg. Crossing the Pont Neuf, we already felt as if we were ascending into a higher realm. At the Monnaie de Paris, we were graciously welcomed by the doorman and a chef — and then, to our astonishment, Mr. Guy Savoy himself stood at the entrance. Time seemed to stop. I was speechless, overwhelmed by emotion. I had imagined perhaps seeing him at the end of our meal, not greeting us in person at the start. We were guided to our table by the kind and professional host team, and from that moment, it truly felt like being part of a grand performance — every detail meticulously choreographed. We chose the “Don’t Look from Noon to 2 p.m.” menu with wine pairing, complemented by a glass of champagne and a digestif. The entire meal was a revelation — an experience of grace, precision, and pure joy. The service was impeccable, the staff radiant with smiles and genuine warmth. The sommelier, when I asked for a digestif, offered me an Orne — sheer class. The wines were divine, each dish a masterpiece. The truffle artichoke soup — what a moment! It wasn’t just food; it was emotion on a spoon. My wife was delighted, and I was moved beyond words. Since that day, I still find myself lost in memories, my head full of golden images from that afternoon. Thank you, Mr. Guy Savoy. You gave us not just a meal, but a memory for life. From the bottom of my heart — I love you.

"Great cuisine but lacks audacity"

Dinner at Guy Savoy was, for our group of four gastronomy enthusiasts, a pursuit of the holy grail of French cuisine. On one hand, we left deeply satisfied: the chef’s creations are truly sublime. The porcini mushrooms, simply prepared, were flawless; the artichoke and truffle soup is a masterpiece that will remain a classic of French gastronomy; and the sweetbreads were both crispy and tender, a true delight. Every dish was elevated by the sommelier’s thoughtful and attentive guidance, which perfectly complemented the meal. Yet, despite this excellence, a sense of disappointment lingered. While technically perfect, the cuisine lacked the audacity to surprise or evoke deeper emotions, leaving us wishing for a touch of boldness — a little “rock and roll” to lift the experience even higher. Ultimately, it was a wonderful moment of sharing and homage to the great French culinary tradition, executed at the highest level. As for the pricing, it is certainly commensurate with this high caliber of cuisine.

"Impeccable"

Rare. Exceptional. Words fall short of what we experienced. From the exquisite setting to the flawless service, from the unforgettable food to the perfectly paired wines — everything came together to create a moment suspended in time. We left with flavors and emotions that will remain etched in our memories for life. Bravo and thank you to the entire team — a truly remarkable experience.

"Special experience, almost a great meal"

Our experience at the restaurant was unforgettable, largely thanks to the amazing service. It was clear that the staff genuinely enjoyed their work, making the evening fun and engaging. The chef even came out to offer a photo in the kitchen, and the presentation of the food was nothing short of art — truly spectacular. That said, I gave the experience four out of five for two reasons. First, a group of younger servers lingered near the front, chatting when we arrived, which made us feel a little like we were interrupting their conversation. On leaving, one of them made a comment in French, including the word “American,” which felt slightly out of place and uncomfortable. Second, while some dishes were outstanding, others didn’t quite hit the mark; the recipes could use a bit more refinement. My husband, with a more discerning palate, felt the same way. Despite this, the atmosphere, décor, artwork, and attentive staff created a first-class, unique dining experience. The desserts, in particular, were exceptional — even surpassing some of the main courses. Overall, an incredible evening with just a few minor areas for improvement.

"The Himalayas are in Savoy …"

Everything was absolutely perfect — from the impeccable service and the elegant ease of the staff to the refined sophistication of each dish. The discreet presence of Monsieur Guy Savoy added a touch of grace to an already enchanting experience at the Monnaie de Paris. Gastronomy elevated to pure art — a masterful symphony of taste, elegance, and emotion.

"Good ritual upscale Paris restaurant."

Our visit offered a true “designer” experience, with many engaged and highly knowledgeable staff who were helpful throughout the meal. The ritual of this upscale Parisian restaurant was impressive, creating an atmosphere of refinement and attention to detail. The food was generally very good, with one dish standing out as truly extraordinary — the oyster preparation was a highlight. Other dishes, such as the artichoke soup with truffles and the perfectly cooked ris de veau with girolles, were enjoyable, though the sauce on the latter was a bit too salty. The pintade was perfectly prepared, accompanied by a delightful sauce and salad with liver. However, the amuse-bouche fell flat, lacking flavor, and the initial bread was burnt on the bottom, requiring a request for more. The wine steward was exceptional, adding a great touch to the experience. Overall, a sophisticated dining experience with superb service, memorable wine, and at least one dish that will remain unforgettable.

"Magic moment"

An extraordinary meal — taste, taste, and more taste. Everything was both beautiful and delicious. We chose the €260 “7 Discoveries” menu, but in truth, there were even more delightful surprises throughout the experience. A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Guy Savoy and his remarkable brigade, who personally welcomed us — a rare and memorable gesture. Not a single false note, only pure appreciation for a moment forever engraved in our memories, shared between my daughter and me.

"Enjoyed the exquisite food but felt a bit left out…."

We absolutely loved the atmosphere, the food, and the service — each course was exceptional and beautifully presented. We would definitely return for another meal. The only downside was that we don’t speak French, and it seemed that the staff naturally gravitated toward tables with French speakers, so we didn’t receive quite the same extra attention as we experienced the night before at Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant at Trianon Palace Hotel. That said, the overall experience here was still excellent and very much worth it.
