"A hotel to come back again and again."
This is a very nice hotel in a superbly central location, making it easy to explore Mexico City. The breakfast was excellent, and throughout our stay, we never felt that anything was lacking. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and we would especially like to thank Astrid, Zulma, and Ivan for their warm and cordial service. Their attentiveness made our experience even more enjoyable. We will definitely return in the future.
"Great location, even better service"
This hotel boasts an excellent location in the heart of the old city center, making it ideal for exploring Mexico City on foot. The standout feature is the quality of service—the concierges were incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and always ready to provide guidance. The hotel is housed in an older building, but the rooms are well-maintained and comfortable. The bed was cozy, and the room included a safe, though there was no refrigerator. The breakfast buffet was simple but sufficient for starting the day. Overall, the combination of location, service, and comfort made for a very pleasant stay.
"Great location, clean, and comfortable rooms"
The hotel enjoys a great location, making it easy to explore Mexico City. The staff were very helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. While our suite didn’t have a view, the overall experience remained enjoyable. The complimentary breakfast was excellent, offering a variety of options that changed daily. Overall, it was a very good stay with attentive service and convenience.
"Large comfortable rooms. Bring ear plugs"
We really enjoyed our stay at Hampton Inn & Suites Centro Histórico. We had two suites—a King and a Double—both very spacious and clean. Housekeeping and the food staff were exceptionally friendly, often greeting us in the elevators. The elevators were fast, though the stairs were also a convenient option. Our only minor complaints were that the beautiful balcony doors, possibly original, were thin and had gaps, allowing street noise to come through easily. During the holiday, police directing traffic from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. added to the sound, and one of our rooms had a slight musty smell. Some rooms, including our King, faced the hotel atrium rather than the street. While the atrium was large and bright with skylights, it could be a consideration for those preferring a street view. Breakfast was hearty and offered a good variety, and despite the crowds for Día de Muertos, there were plenty of seating options. The location couldn’t be better—just two short, safe blocks from the Zócalo—making it ideal for exploring downtown Mexico City. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.
"It’s a pleasant experience"
This hotel stands out from the rest, offering service and attention that truly impress. The hospitality is excellent, making every guest feel valued and well cared for. Whether traveling alone or with company, the experience is consistently pleasant in every aspect. I would gladly return, as the warmth and quality of service make it a memorable stay.
"Definitely a repeat"
One of the biggest advantages of this hotel is its unbeatable location in the Historic Downtown, just two blocks from the Zócalo, the city’s central plaza with the cathedral and the National Palace. While some travelers recommend staying in the more upscale, tree-lined neighborhoods, we chose to stay right in the heart of the city—and it was the perfect choice. The plaza is always alive with activity—people gathering, children playing, musicians performing, and vendors selling their goods. Despite the crowds, the area is surprisingly clean, safe, and well-patrolled by law enforcement. We explored downtown extensively on foot and occasionally used UBER to reach other neighborhoods, which worked flawlessly. We stayed in a comfortable suite on the 6th floor for our entire 10-night visit. The concierges, Edgar and Alejandro, provided invaluable assistance and delivered service that went above and beyond. Throughout our stay, the hotel staff was consistently welcoming, and Reception Supervisor Jocelyn Loo was attentive and readily available to address any concerns. We have already decided that when we return to Mexico City, we will stay here again—Hampton Inn & Suites Centro Histórico is our top choice for location, comfort, and outstanding service.
"Warm welcome …. Just not clean"
We arrived late at night, and the hotel staff were very attentive—porter Martin even crossed a busy road to help with our bags without being asked, and Zuma at reception was welcoming and helpful. We only stayed one night as planned. The room itself was damp-smelling and felt unaired. The bed was comfortable with clean linen, but the bed base was badly stained and a plastic packet behind it had not been removed. The bathroom cleanliness was lacking, with used toothpicks by the sink and floor, and the toilet cistern was cracked and required manual adjustment to stop running water. Breakfast was adequate, but the area at night did not feel safe. Overall, the hotel’s very reasonable price reflects these issues. Unfortunately, we would not recommend staying here despite the helpful staff.
"Great location and very good service"
The hotel is ideally located, making it very easy to explore different areas of Mexico City on foot. The rooms are spacious and include a separate sitting area, although the sofas could use a refresh. The bathroom was well-appointed, but the shower drained slowly, causing some water to pool at the back. We didn’t have the chance to try the breakfast as we were out early for excursions, but overall, it was an enjoyable stay. Depending on our plans in CDMX, we would consider staying here again.
