"Nice experience"
Our stay at Hansar Samui was absolutely amazing! The location is ideal—right on the beach and just steps from Fisherman’s Village. The rooms are spacious with stunning sea views, and the infinity pool is simply breathtaking. The staff were incredibly friendly and made our experience unforgettable. Breakfast was delicious, offering plenty of fresh options to start the day. The beach sand is a bit coarse, but it didn’t take away from the overall relaxing vibe. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Bophut—we can’t wait to return!
"Wonderful hotel"
My husband and I stayed here for four nights for our honeymoon, and we absolutely loved it! Everything was clean, beautiful, and perfectly maintained. We stayed in a Sea View XL room and really enjoyed it, especially the large shower and spacious balcony. The staff was wonderful—always greeting us with big smiles and making us feel truly welcome. A special thank you to Dear at the reception for going the extra mile to make our stay memorable!
"Great stay"
This hotel offers a lovely stay with stunning views and very friendly staff, making for a welcoming atmosphere. The room was comfortable, though the wooden bed frame’s edges made it easy to bump your ankles, as the mattress didn’t extend fully to the sides. For a 5-star property, a bathtub would have been a nice addition. A word of caution: the bottled water in the fridge is quite expensive, while free water is provided elsewhere—so be sure to check before drinking. Overall, a pleasant stay with only minor inconveniences.
"Check-in delay after long flight ruined our arrival, though hotel itself is very nice"
We chose this hotel for our first night on Koh Samui due to its strong reviews, good standards, and proximity to the airport, but our early arrival unfortunately soured our experience. Arriving at 8:30 AM after an overnight flight, we were told our room wouldn’t be ready until 2 PM. Waiting for several hours on almost no sleep was exhausting, and even by noon the room was still not prepared. While the staff remained polite and professional throughout, the strict check-in policy felt unreasonable for early arrivals, which are common on the island. On the positive side, the hotel offers a fantastic location just steps from Fisherman’s Village and the beach, comfortable sunbeds, a refreshing pool with fresh towels, excellent breakfast, and charming touches like a hammock between palm trees and a small working area near the pool. Some design choices, however, felt unusual, such as the lack of a proper shower door and minimal privacy for the toilet. Overall, it’s a lovely property, but early arrivals may struggle—unfortunately, this experience left a negative first impression for us, and we wouldn’t return.
"We were satisfied"
Hansar Samui enjoys a prime location at the start of Bo Phut’s lively corner, just a short five- to ten-minute walk along the promenade to numerous beachfront restaurants. Our sea-view room on the third floor was spacious but had some drawbacks. The bed felt low and a bit uncomfortable, and while the air conditioning worked well at the preset 23 degrees, storage space was limited for a two-week stay. The shower was generous but could have been slightly smaller to make room for a double sink, and there were no hooks for the medium and small towels provided. Noise was an issue, from slamming doors, scooters, construction across the street, and especially water pipes in adjoining rooms—though the latter was repaired after we reported it, and the hotel kindly offered a 60-minute spa voucher for the inconvenience. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea was pleasant, but evening dining at the hotel was underwhelming compared to nearby restaurants. Sun loungers were readily available by the pool and on the beach. Overall, the friendly and attentive staff were a highlight, making the stay enjoyable despite the minor room shortcomings.
"Nice."
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel for six days and five nights. The property features a large swimming pool, a private beach with water sports, and is conveniently located close to Fisherman’s Village, with plenty of restaurants, markets, and even fireworks in the area. Our room was comfortable, and housekeeping did an excellent job, cleaning daily and changing towels and sheets. Breakfast was enjoyable, and the staff were consistently kind and helpful, making our stay even more pleasant. The location is very convenient, with a 7-Eleven and McDonald’s nearby. Overall, it was a really nice experience, and we had a lot of fun.
"Perfect location in a lovely part of Koh Samui"
This hotel boasts a fantastic location in the heart of Fisherman’s Village, within easy walking distance of bars, restaurants, shops, and the local market. The large infinity pool overlooking the sea is breathtaking, and there are plenty of comfortable sunbeds, making it easy to secure one every day. Breakfast offers a great variety, including lots of fresh fruit and delicious iced cappuccinos. The staff were friendly and attentive, particularly in the restaurants and bars, while the cleaners did a great job; reception staff tried their best, though English proficiency was limited. The room was spacious with beautiful traditional wooden decor, but felt a bit dark and lacked sufficient storage. The shower and bathroom were functional, though the room could benefit from an upgrade. WiFi was decent near reception but less reliable toward the far end of the pool. Overall, a lovely stay in a prime location with excellent amenities and service.
"OUTDATED"
We arrived at this resort with high hopes but were ultimately very disappointed. Check-in was quick, and the staff gave a brief explanation of the resort, but accessing our room required stairs, as there was no lift. At first glance, the room seemed fine, but a closer inspection revealed it was badly in need of renovation. The furniture was old, and the wardrobe was perhaps the worst I have ever seen. The bedroom was small, while the shower was huge but badly maintained, with dirty grout. Breakfast was underwhelming, served cold, and lacked fresh orange juice. Check-out with the reception staff was cold and unwelcoming. Considering the high price of the hotel, our experience fell far short of expectations, and we would definitely not return.
"Hansar Samui Hotel"
This hotel offers an excellent location right on the beach, just steps away from everything that Fisherman’s Village has to offer. The staff were exceptional, making our stay especially welcoming and enjoyable. Our room was lovely, featuring a great pool and sea view, and breakfast was truly outstanding. There were a few minor drawbacks: the bed was mounted on a wooden base larger than the mattress itself, which led to frequent toe stubs—a rather hazardous design. The bedroom lighting system was overly complicated, with 21 switches that we never fully figured out. WiFi coverage was generally good, but we had to frequently re-login, sometimes twice a day, which was unusual compared to other hotels in Thailand. Despite these small issues, it was a wonderful stay, thanks to the attentive staff and beautiful location.
"Koh samui 1 week"
The hotel boasts an amazing location with lovely facilities and a beautiful pool area. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, making for a welcoming atmosphere. However, the rooms have several issues that detract from the overall experience. Due to the island’s humidity, dehumidifiers are provided, yet dark mold spots still appeared in corners. Noise from neighboring rooms, including running taps and toilets, was easily audible. Additionally, we experienced intermittent loss of hot water, and the bed was very noisy, disturbing our sleep throughout the night. While the hotel is enjoyable and well-located, it may not fully live up to the advertised 5-star standard.
"Mediocre hotel but great location"
The hotel benefits from a fantastic location, just a short stroll to Fisherman’s Village, but it falls short in many other areas. While the staff were friendly and the pool was magnificent, the property feels a bit shabby and doesn’t live up to typical 5-star standards—more like a 4-star experience. Rooms were not thoroughly cleaned, towels provided were often worn or stained, and there was a strong musty smell suggesting ventilation or air conditioning issues. Coffee and tea facilities in the room were minimal, and the included breakfast was unremarkable. Overall, the hotel has potential due to its location and staff, but it clearly needs a major renovation to meet expectations.
"Ok stay"
This hotel, with three floors and no lift, may not be ideal for those with mobility issues. Our room on the third floor offered a lovely view of the pool and sea, and housekeeping kept it spotless every day. Breakfast staff were really friendly, though the poolside staff were less accommodating and even began removing parasols from the beach around 4 PM. The beach is beautiful but difficult to walk on as the sand sinks underfoot, and the sea isn’t the cleanest, so the pool was often preferred for cooling off. The pool area can get busy but quietens around mid-afternoon. A pleasant path leads to Fisherman’s Village in roughly five minutes, offering a variety of bars and restaurants. Overall, compared to the rest of Koh Samui, Fisherman’s Village stands out as a charming and more relaxed area, making this hotel a good choice for those wanting a quieter stay while avoiding the crowded beaches of Chaweng and Lamai.
