"Disappointing & NOT 4 Star"

The location, service, and food and drink quality at this hotel were all average—more of a 2–3 star experience rather than 4-star. The main reason I’m rating it 2 stars is the state of the bathroom. The bath and shower screens have filthy edging strips that are clearly visible, and it seems hotel management doesn’t address these issues. If such problems are this obvious, one can only wonder what other issues might exist that aren’t immediately visible. For the price paid, there are certainly better options in Barcelona.

"Best hotel of my life"

We couldn’t have chosen a better place for our honeymoon! The rooms were beautiful and spotless, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. There’s a wonderful harmony among the team, which really shows in their excellent service. Highlights included the guided walk through the Gothic Quarter and the daily Catalan wine and cheese tasting—both absolutely superb. The breakfast was hearty and made with fresh produce, and the price was perfectly in line with the experience. Special thanks to the reception staff member who speaks Italian—you made us feel instantly at home! Thank you to all the staff for making our honeymoon even more memorable and sweet.

"Charming Central Hotel in the Heart of the Gothic Quarter"

The hotel is wonderful, situated right next to a cathedral and perfectly central for exploring the Gothic Quarter on foot. The only downside is that getting around by car can be a bit tricky due to its location. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast is excellent and plentiful. Overall, a very enjoyable stay in a prime location.

"Hotel well placed"

The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast costs €22 per person, but you can also enjoy a very complete brunch. The terrace is lovely, and the rooftop pool is a real highlight. Restaurant service wasn’t always perfect, but Jose took great care of us in the late afternoon with a friendly smile, and the morning staff were also nice. One small improvement would be providing a city map at check-in to show your location—it’s a minor detail, but very helpful for tourists.

"Great stay, would recommend!"

We stayed at this hotel for four days with our family and had a fantastic experience overall. The location is excellent, right next to the famous Kiss mural. Check-in was a little slow, but the staff managed to get us into our room before the standard time, which was greatly appreciated. We loved having a pool to cool off in each day, complete with bar service, though it could use a bit more attention. The staff were amazing, always greeting us warmly, and the pleasant hotel scent was a nice touch. The on-site restaurant was excellent, and we highly recommend it. Special thanks to the hotel manager, who quickly and kindly resolved a minor soap issue, even offering Cava glasses for our group as a gesture. Overall, it was a great stay, and we would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Misadvertised"

The staff at this hotel are lovely and very helpful. Unfortunately, if your room is on the first floor above the restaurant, you can hear almost everything happening around you. Conversations, music from the restaurant, and hallway noise are all very noticeable, which makes it difficult to enjoy the peace the hotel advertises. The TV options are limited, with only 6–7 local channels and no cable. While the hotel has many positive aspects, the noise on the first floor can significantly impact your stay.

"Great Location"

This hotel has a fabulous location, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and we especially enjoyed the daily wine and cheese—though it doesn’t last long, so be quick! The rooms are smaller, typical of a boutique hotel, but comfortable. Overall, we had a great stay with no complaints at all.

"Disappointed in Barcelona……."

The hotel is in a fantastic location, perfect for exploring all that Barcelona has to offer. However, the air conditioning is centrally controlled by the hotel, so if you prefer a cooler room, you may be out of luck. Opening the windows overnight to cool the room isn’t a solution either, as the central location brings a lot of street noise. While the hotel is ideally situated, the combination of limited temperature control and nighttime noise can leave you feeling tired.

"Awful old and uncomfortable bed for almost €400 a night"

We booked this hotel directly, hoping for a high-rated alternative since the neighboring hotel was full. On check-in, the staff were pleasant and accommodating, though we were assigned a room for mobility-challenged guests. The bathroom door didn’t close properly, and the room amplified lift noise throughout the day. The biggest issue, however, was the bed. It was old, lumpy, and had deep dents, offering no proper back support and causing discomfort. For a hotel, bed quality is essential, and this one failed completely. While the location and staff were good, the poor bed and excessive noise made our stay unpleasant. For nearly €400 a night, I would suggest booking elsewhere.

"Don’t hesitate when considering 4 star Barcelona!"

If you’re looking for a centrally located hotel in Barcelona, this is a fantastic choice. The staff are extremely friendly, and the facilities are well-appointed and comfortable. The restaurant, including breakfast, offers very good food. During my three-day stay, I felt this was the best 4-star hotel I’ve experienced. A special shout-out to Adine at the front desk—always smiling and incredibly helpful. Overall, all the staff were wonderful and made the stay even better.

"Good Pension, Ideally Located"

This was probably my 7th or 8th stay at this pension, and I find it perfect for visiting Barcelona. Its location is excellent—right opposite the Cathedral and in the city center, just 6–7 minutes’ walk from El Born, 8–10 minutes from La Rambla, and 15 minutes from Barceloneta beach. Check-in is quick, and the welcome is always warm and friendly. On the ground floor, there’s a lovely courtyard and a daily aperitif at 5 PM, with a glass of wine and small snacks. The rooms are well-arranged and clean, with comfortable bedding (even if two single beds form a double). Bathrooms with bathtubs are functional, and there’s a safe, a large storage cabinet, and a fridge with drinks (for a fee). The rooftop pool offers a nice view of the city. While prices have risen in recent years, it remains a very good pension, and I highly recommend it.

"Could Try Harder!"

First impressions were positive. This is a small hotel in an excellent location in the historic Gothic Quarter, featuring a rooftop pool with loungers and towels. Every evening from 5 PM, guests can enjoy a complimentary glass of wine with cheeses, olives, bread, and quince paste. Our room was very spacious, with a large bathroom, generous wardrobe, fridge, and electric kettle (though no liquid milk was provided). However, we were disappointed to learn that ironing services came with an extra charge, and some basic room details were lacking. The fridge ledges hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly, the curtain lining had cigarette burns, and the wardrobe used fixed hangers that were inconvenient. The air conditioning also made a regular noise every 15 minutes, which could be distracting. Overall, the hotel was okay, but I’ve stayed in better 4-star accommodations.
