Hotel Condesa DF

"Hip property in a great location but not an overall great value."
This is a visually striking property with a modern, well-thought-out design. The courtyard and rooftop deck truly stand out and are perfect for relaxing, especially at sunset. However, the room itself and the overall value felt underwhelming for the price. At this rate, I expected better-quality beds and bedding—the mattress was quite firm. I also prefer having the option to open a window for fresh air; while my room had a beautiful window, it didn’t open. This wouldn’t be an issue if you book a higher-priced room with a balcony. The breakfast buffet included with the stay was delicious, although the coffee left something to be desired. If the rooms were more affordable, these drawbacks would be easier to overlook, but at the current price point, the value just didn’t feel justified. That said, I would absolutely return for the breakfast and a sunset drink on the rooftop.
"Lovely hotel but the rooms are too small for the price."
The hotel is in a great neighborhood with a convenient location and above-average service. However, the rooms are far smaller than represented on the website. The biggest disappointment was that what is advertised as a “suite” is actually just a very small hotel room, with a closet barely large enough for one person. If you’re looking for space, this can be a real letdown. Aside from that, the stay was pleasant, and the food—including breakfast—was quite good.
"Overall a nice experience depending on rate"
he location and service are outstanding and truly a highlight of the stay. The rooms, while very well appointed, are extremely small. The complimentary breakfast is great; however, the restaurant and first-floor areas are uncomfortably cold in the mornings. Additionally, the hotel feels quite dark in the stairwells, which can be a bit off-putting.
"Wanted to like it more"
This hotel boasts a fantastic location in Condesa, with plenty of things to recommend. The rooms are interesting and some feature lovely terraces, and the breakfast is terrific. Juan provided outstanding service, and when we had a mishap with our first room, the manager and Carlos were understanding and upgraded us. While the area is generally quiet, there was some noise from the rooftop bar and barking dogs outside. We also experienced a few plumbing and heating issues—our room was cold, and despite reassurances from the front desk, the heating didn’t really help. Despite these minor drawbacks, we still loved the boutique charm and prime location of the property.
"Bar"
We had an amazing time in such an international and welcoming place. The atmosphere was incredibly friendly, and we kept meeting adorable pets that we instantly fell in love with every few seconds. There are countless cafés, bars, and great places to eat, and we even caught a comedy show, which we absolutely loved. The parks were beautiful, and the city consistently felt clean and well maintained. Without a doubt, this is a destination you absolutely have to visit.
"Would definitely stay here again"
The hotel is situated in a wonderful, lively, and safe neighborhood, making it easy to walk to nearby museums, restaurants, and shops. The staff were truly delightful—always helpful and gracious, even though we only spoke English. The included breakfast was fresh and delicious, and the wait staff welcomed us each morning as if we were long-lost friends, which added a very personal touch to our stay. The only areas for improvement were the occasional power outages, the coffee at breakfast, which could be better, and the very high prices at the rooftop bar. Overall, it was a memorable stay thanks to the location and exceptional service.
"Condesa Roof Top Lounge"
We didn’t stay at the hotel, but we spent plenty of time at the rooftop lounge, and it’s truly a gem. Located across from a beautiful park, sitting in the open-air lounge feels like being in a treehouse, making it the perfect spot for sunset cocktails. The service was excellent—Giovanny, our waiter, went above and beyond, even helping us take photos. If you’re visiting Mexico City, I highly recommend stopping by this rooftop lounge—and if you’re lucky, Giovanny will be there to make your experience even better.
"Very Special Hotel, with Rooms in Need of Updating"
I stayed at CondesaDF for six nights while exploring Mexico City, seeking a solid 4-star, full-service hotel convenient to both Condesa and Roma Norte. Having visited CDMX two months earlier and stayed at the Four Seasons—which felt tired and in need of renovation—I was excited to try something fresher and more vibrant. The hotel has many strengths. Its location is excellent, within walking distance of fantastic restaurants and bars like Contramar, Lardo, Blanco Colima, and Maximo. The staff were exceptionally warm, personable, and clearly proud of their work. Breakfast was lovely, with a good selection and quality offerings, and the rooftop bar lives up to its reputation for food, drinks, and setting. The overall design of the hotel is unique and stylish, maintaining a cool, boutique charm that newer hotels often lack. I stayed in a courtyard patio room, likely an entry-level category, which featured an original and interesting design. Most importantly, the property and rooms are kept very clean, with daily linen service—a nice touch that even some 5-star hotels skimp on these days. On the downside, the rooms are showing signs of heavy wear after 15+ years, with furniture, walls, bathrooms, and details all needing a serious refresh. My first room’s A/C didn’t work at all, though I was thankfully moved to a replacement room with excellent cooling. Many lights were non-functional, and the replacement bathroom was poorly lit, making daily routines awkward. Overall, the room condition felt a bit beat-up, giving the impression that maintenance and updates have been deferred despite the rates being charged. It’s a shame, because the hotel itself is truly special, and with a proper refresh, it could easily match its exceptional location and service.
"Preferred Location in Mexico City"
When a friend asked me for a hotel recommendation in Mexico City, this property immediately came to mind. It’s located on a quiet yet green and character-filled street in Condesa, one of the best areas to stay, with easy access to many must-visit restaurants and bars. My room overlooked the street and offered a lovely view of the greenery, which I really enjoyed. Although I didn’t spend much time at the hotel, it does have a rooftop that’s popular with locals as well. While I usually like to try new places on each trip, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again—especially for the comfortable, cozy beds and a great night’s sleep.
"Disappointingly Average"
This hotel is beautifully designed, and its location is fantastic, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, though the service from the restaurant and rooftop staff was less impressive. While the property has a lot of charm, it is in need of a refresh, and overall, the cost-to-performance ratio felt disappointing—rooms felt overpriced for what is offered.
