"Great stay"

The hotel boasts a fantastic location right on the water, making it perfect for a relaxing stay. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, adding to a positive experience. While the facilities are a bit older, it didn’t bother us and didn’t take away from the enjoyment of our stay.

"El Pescador Served Me Well"

El Pescador was my choice for a short off-season getaway, and having stayed here before, I enjoyed it even more this time. As a solo female traveler, safety is a priority, and this well-run, Mexican-owned hotel does an excellent job keeping non-guests out. The rooms are simple but comfortable, with AC, a refrigerator, ample hot water, and a clear ocean view that more than makes up for the plain décor. The complimentary breakfast is basic—two pieces of toasted baguette, a small side of fruit, juice, and coffee—but the buffet upgrade for around $7 CAD was very worthwhile, offering unlimited fresh fruit, chilaquiles, beans, and an egg dish. The pool is clean and surrounded by well-maintained foliage and palms, creating a peaceful environment. El Pescador isn’t a luxury hotel like a Hyatt, but it doesn’t need to be. Its location is a pleasant alternative to the busier Zona Romantica, with many excellent restaurants within walking distance. Overall, I had a very enjoyable and relaxing mini vacation at El Pescador.

"I do not return to the Fisherman"

Our stay was marred by several issues. We found a cockroach in the bathroom (room 355), and the bed was missing pillows or cushions, with the provided pillows being very thin. There were also not enough outlets to charge cell phones, and the lamp next to the mirror was inadequate. On top of that, we were told our rate didn’t include breakfast, so we had to pay full price for the buffet. Overall, the stay was disappointing due to these comfort and maintenance concerns.

"LOVELY HOTEL PESCADOR"

Hotel Pescador is a true hidden gem—just don’t tell anyone! The staff are fantastic, creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The location is excellent, making it easy to explore the area. Overall, it’s a great place to stay with wonderful staff and a charming vibe.

"Good place to stay"

The hotel offers a good location and clean, comfortable rooms. However, the breakfast service was disappointing—food trays were often empty, and simple items like eggs took a long time to arrive. With some improvement in breakfast service, this could be an even better stay.

"Loved It!"

We absolutely loved this hotel! Our sea-view room was quiet, with only the sound of the ocean—though next time I’d prefer not to overlook the pool. The location is perfect, close to everything, and the staff were lovely and attentive. Breakfast was more than adequate, with a small buffet each day and delicious coffee—much more than just bread and fruit as some reviews suggested. We even saw whales from our patio, which was incredible! Nearby, there’s a great bar just two blocks away and an art studio where I took glass mosaic and anklet classes—highly recommended if you enjoy creative activities. Overall, we loved our stay and would return in a heartbeat. Sightsee830012

"No simple supplies."

The room was clean upon arrival, and the pool area and beachfront location were fantastic. Breakfast was good, and the air conditioning worked well for cooling. However, there were a few drawbacks: no face cloths or hand towels initially, and when we requested them, they weren’t replaced with fresh ones the next day. The room also lacked a hairdryer and a fridge, and the heat function on the air conditioner didn’t work, making the first night uncomfortably cold. Overall, a great location and clean room, but some basic amenities need improvement.

"Pleasant, clean and worked for me"

The hotel offers clean and comfortable rooms with friendly, attentive service. Breakfast starts at 8 a.m., though an earlier start or a coffee maker in the room would be appreciated for early risers. The quiet location on the northern edge of the tourist area is a plus. Not fancy, but clean, functional, and convenient—definitely a hotel I would use again.
