"All in all is to be recommended"
The Garance Hotel benefits from an excellent location—close to the metro and just a short walk from the historic rue Mouffetard. The room is reasonably spacious for Parisian standards, with a comfortable bed, good mattress, and great pillows. The bathroom is modern, the shower efficient, and the heating very comfortable. Some areas fall short: cleanliness could be better, with dust on the bathroom aerator and towel radiator. The free Wi-Fi is slow, and breakfast is very minimal, leaving room for improvement. Overall, a convenient and pleasant stay, especially for exploring the neighborhood.
"Budget hotel off the beaten track"
Hotel Garance offers affordable accommodation in a quieter, less touristy area of Paris, on the edge of the 13th arrondissement, just a few hundred meters from Les Gobelins metro station (Line 7). Our room was a bit smaller than shown on the website and the décor less polished, with some wallpaper peeling and black stains on the bathroom ceiling. Despite this, the bed was comfortable, and the room remained fairly quiet on the third floor facing Avenue des Gobelins. Breakfast on the first floor was a continental buffet with a good variety of cereals, ham, cheese, fruit, yogurt, croissants, jam, and brown or white bread—sufficient to start the day well.

The apartment itself is good, though it could benefit from added comforts such as a bar fridge. Breakfast is enjoyable, but offering a wider selection of fresh bread, pastries, and cakes alongside the fruit would enhance the experience. Overall, a convenient and pleasant stay with minor areas for improvement.

"Decent hotel, great location but small room and black bits in the shower"
The hotel is in a decent location, within walking distance or a short cab ride to many attractions. However, the room was smaller than expected and the bathroom appeared less modern than advertised, with noticeable black marks. Breakfast was underwhelming and not worth the price, consisting only of croissants, rolled ham and cheese, and yogurt. Overall, the stay was somewhat disappointing compared to expectations.
"Very nice little hotel"
This small hotel in the 13th arrondissement is very nice and cozy, with a pleasant and welcoming staff. The breakfast is complete and served in a sunny room overlooking the street, making for a bright start to the day. The rooms are clean and well appointed, though ours had two single beds and one moved slightly during the night. Despite being compact, the room was comfortable. Highly recommended for a stay in Paris, with the metro just 2 minutes away.
"Perfect Location but should Have Been Cleaner"
Situated in the heart of the Latin Quarter, this hotel offers a wonderful location just steps from street-side restaurants and scenic walks. The lobby is small and somewhat dark but reasonably clean, and the staff was friendly and attentive, even assisting with luggage on arrival and bringing it to the room later—a thoughtful gesture. The hotel’s 22 rooms offer charm and comfort, with working air conditioning, plentiful hot water, quiet rooms, and comfortable beds. Two large doors open to a small balcony with a lovely view of the Parisian streets below. However, the hotel could benefit from deeper cleaning and minor repairs. Carpeted corners were thick with dust, and vinyl baseboards and wallpaper showed signs of wear. Cleaning service only entered once during the six-night stay, which, while typical in France, may disappoint some guests. Overall, a pleasant stay in a charming location, though some attention to detail could elevate the experience.

I chose this hotel at the last minute for a family trip, primarily for its convenient location, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of service. The staff was attentive and friendly, making our end-of-year holiday stay truly enjoyable. Their dedication and warmth contributed greatly to the success of our visit, exceeding our expectations.

"Dated but well located"
The hotel is well situated, making it convenient for exploring Paris, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Our “family room” was essentially a double with an extra bed placed along one wall—quite compact, but reasonable given the price. The room was clean, though somewhat dated, and overall provided decent value for a short stay.
