"Stunning Views, Timeless Vibes"
Even as a visitor, the Hassler exudes a sense of legend and timeless elegance at every turn. The highlight is undoubtedly the rooftop on the 7th floor, offering mozzafiato views of Rome’s rooftops and domes that leave you spellbound. It’s the perfect place to take in the city, pause, and imagine the rich history unfolding beneath you.
"Sweet Breakfast Lounge"
The breakfast at the Hassler is both a feast for the eyes and a delight for the taste buds. The beautifully presented selection of pastries and breads is impressive, offering a variety that satisfies every craving. The dining area exudes elegance and comfort, providing a serene and refined atmosphere—perfect for beginning the day in one of Rome’s most legendary hotels.
"History and America"
The Hassler is a historic and highly coveted hotel, perched atop the Spanish Steps at Trinità dei Monti. Its prime location alone could earn six stars if such a thing were possible. As a five-star establishment, it offers all the luxury and amenities one would expect, and it’s not uncommon to spot celebrities during your stay. While it’s a favorite among American travelers, I personally feel the value for money isn’t quite exceptional. But let’s be honest—it’s the Hassler, and its legendary reputation speaks for itself!
"Perfect – you would like to give more than 5 stars"
Every stay at the Hassler—this being our tenth—has been another flawless experience. The service is impeccable, the staff professional, and the hotel itself is stunning, especially during Advent with its festive decorations, while the rooms are always spotless. What truly sets the Hassler apart from other top-tier hotels is its warm, welcoming atmosphere. As regular guests, we always feel genuinely appreciated and cared for. I personally love family-run establishments, and that spirit is alive here. A truly five-star-plus recommendation!
"Beautiful Palace, ideally located"
A few years ago, I stayed at this historic hotel and discovered a sumptuous palace, beautifully restored and ideally situated just steps from the Spanish Steps. Our small suite, priced at €1,500, did not overlook the square, which would have increased the rate further, but it was still very pleasant. We were welcomed with a lovely bouquet of roses, and upon returning in the evening, Prosecco, fruits, and chocolates awaited us. The service was impeccable, both in-room and at the concierge, with staff who were exceptionally friendly and attentive. Though I didn’t have the chance to experience the Michelin one-star restaurant or the adjoining bar, the terrace on the 7th floor offered stunning sunset views, and the outdoor terrace promises delightful brunches and Sunday buffets when open. Despite the beauty and outstanding service, I was disappointed by two things. First, the in-room breakfast, priced at €40, was far below expectations: acidic and flavorless fruits, packaged juices, bland yogurts, mass-produced jams, and pastries that barely qualified as such. For a hotel of this caliber, this was inexcusable. Second, while the hotel claims to have a multilingual staff, in practice only English and Italian were spoken, aside from one kind concierge who used French briefly. I am giving four stars for the exceptional staff and the overall beauty of the property, with the hope that management addresses the misleading online descriptions and elevates the breakfast experience to match the hotel’s otherwise stellar standards.
"Noisy room"
We are currently staying at the Hassler, and while the location at the top of the Spanish Steps is fantastic, we experienced some issues during our stay. Despite paying extra for an upgraded room, we were placed next to the elevator and the housekeeping area, which meant constant noise from staff and hotel traffic. Additionally, the neighboring room was very noisy, making it difficult to get a restful night’s sleep. Unfortunately, due to these disturbances, we will likely not stay at the Hassler again.
"Pleasant"
A beautiful hotel perched at the top of the Spanish Steps, offering a very nice room with lovely views of the square. However, the warmth of human interaction was lacking—staff often felt distant and remote. The breakfast room was cold, both in atmosphere and service, and the breakfast itself was very average. A shame, given the hotel’s otherwise fantastic location and accommodations.
"Amazing Experience"
One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in! Every aspect of the Hassler is exceptional—the prime location, attentive staff, luxurious amenities, and outstanding food all make for an unforgettable experience. English-speaking guests will feel especially welcome. Seriously, treat yourself and stay here!
"Gold Standard… with a few exceptions…"
We stayed in a deluxe king room with more than ample space and a stunning view of the Spanish Steps. Being located next to the gym and spa was a nice bonus. During our stay, we even spotted some famous guests, which was a fun touch—after all, it’s easy to see why Tom Cruise might choose this hotel for a wedding! Overall, it’s hard to find many complaints, though a few things stood out. The sightseeing tours offered by the hotel were overpriced and not worth booking, and the concierge gave us a disappointing restaurant recommendation—Caffè Ciampini di Marco Ciampini—where we would have preferred a simple reheated pizza.
"This is, bar none, the best hotel in Rome."
My wife and I stayed at the Hassler for our honeymoon, and as a frequent traveler and demanding hotel guest, I was looking for anything that might fall short—I found nothing. The hotel exudes timeless luxury, impeccably maintained despite being open since the early 1900s. The food is excellent, the location unbeatable, and the views are truly the best in Rome. Above all, the service was extraordinary, attentive, and genuine. A true gem in the heart of the Eternal City.
