Even just visiting, the Hassler Hotel feels truly legendary. Its elegance is palpable in every corner. The real highlight is the 7th-floor rooftop, offering mozzafiato views of Rome’s rooftops and domes that leave you spellbound. It’s the perfect spot to soak in the city and imagine its history unfolding below.

The Hassler is a historic and highly sought-after hotel, perched at the top of the Spanish Steps. Its location alone could deserve six stars if that were possible. As a true 5-star property, it offers all the luxury and amenities expected, and it’s not uncommon to encounter celebrities during your stay. While it may not always offer the best value for money, the experience and prestige of staying at the Hassler are truly unparalleled.
"Perfect – you would like to give more than 5 stars"
Every stay at the Hassler (this being our 10th) is another perfect experience. The service is impeccable, the staff highly professional, and the hotel itself is stunning—especially during Advent, when the decorations create a magical atmosphere. The rooms are spotless, but what truly sets the Hassler apart from other top hotels is its warm, welcoming atmosphere. As regular guests, we are always appreciated and cared for. For those who value the charm of a family-run establishment, this is exactly what you’ll find here. A definite 5-star plus recommendation!
"Beautiful Palace, ideally located"
I had visited this hotel years ago when it felt dark and dated, but now it has been beautifully restored into a sumptuous palace, still perfectly located just steps from the Spanish Steps. We stayed in a small suite at €1500—not overlooking the square, otherwise prices reach incredible heights—but it was still very pleasant. On our return in the evening, a lovely bouquet of roses, Prosecco, fruits, and chocolates awaited us. Service was impeccable, both in-room and from the concierge, with staff who were extremely dedicated and always smiling. The 7th-floor terrace offers breathtaking sunset views, and the adjoining bar is as elegant and comfortable as the hotel itself. An outdoor terrace, still closed during our stay, promises delightful brunches and Sunday buffets when open. However, two aspects prevented a full five-star rating. First, breakfast in the room, charged €40, was a major letdown: fruits were acidic and flavorless, juices were pre-packaged, yogurts were bland, and jams were mass-produced and unappealing—truly unworthy of such a luxury hotel. Second, while the hotel advertises multilingual staff, in reality, aside from a kind concierge who spoke French two days during our five-day stay, staff only spoke English and Italian. Despite these issues, I rate the hotel four stars for the warmth and attentiveness of the staff and the beauty of the property, hoping management addresses the breakfast quality and updates the website to reflect language availability accurately.

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Every aspect of this hotel is exceptional—the location, the staff, the amenities, and the food are all top shelf. It’s very English-friendly, making your stay effortless and enjoyable. Seriously, do yourself a favor and stay here—you won’t be disappointed!
"Pleasant"
This hotel, perched at the top of the Spanish Steps, is simply beautiful. Our room offered lovely views of the square and was very comfortable, though it could have benefitted from a bit more warmth and a more personal touch from the staff. Unfortunately, the breakfast experience was disappointing. The breakfast room felt cold, staff were distant, and the selection was quite average for a hotel of this caliber. Such a contrast to the charm of the location and the room itself—truly a missed opportunity.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Hassler for our honeymoon, and it was simply unforgettable. As a frequent traveler and a very demanding hotel guest, I was searching for anything that might fall short—but I found nothing. The hotel exudes traditional, substantive luxury, impeccably maintained despite its long history since the early 1900s. The food is excellent, the location unbeatable, and the views are truly the best in Rome. Above all, the service is extraordinary. A genuine gem in the heart of the Eternal City.
"Gold Standard… with a few exceptions…"
We stayed in a deluxe king room, which offered more than ample space and a fantastic view overlooking the Spanish Steps. Being located next to the gym and spa was an added bonus. We even had the chance to meet some notable guests, which added to the experience. Overall, it’s hard to find fault with the hotel itself. The only drawbacks were minor: sightseeing tours booked through the hotel were overpriced and not worth it, and the concierge’s restaurant recommendation—Caffè Ciampini di Marco Ciampini—was disappointing. Otherwise, a truly memorable stay.
