"An unmissable experience in Mexico City"
We had a very nice experience at this hotel. The property itself is lovely, and the attention from Alejandro and Marcelo was excellent—they were attentive and ensured that the service throughout our stay was seamless and enjoyable.
"Wedding in the great hotel"
I went to a wedding at the hotel and it was a wonderful experience. Amazing facilities and service
"Good view on the terrace"
The rooms were comfortable and well-maintained, providing a pleasant stay. However, the food was disappointing—more focused on presentation than quality. The salted soup was overly thick, the creams heavy, and the stuffed turkey was hard and dry, making for a poor dining experience.
"Dream wedding"
We stayed at the hotel for a wedding celebration, and everything was excellent. From arrival, we were treated wonderfully and felt well taken care of throughout the event. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and beautifully appointed. The staff were friendly and attentive, making our stay effortless. The next day, we enjoyed the terrace brunch, which was amazing. Emmanuel Guerrero went above and beyond, personally assisting us with our luggage as we departed.
"Good stay"
Nice historic place, good treatment from Emanuel Guerrero, food could improve
"Wonderful experience !!!"
We knew we wanted a historic “old Mexico” experience, and the Gran Hotel Ciudad de México exceeded all expectations. From check-in to check-out, every aspect was exceptional. The doormen, especially Abraham, greeted us with friendly smiles while assisting with luggage, and the front desk staff, including Adrian and Cynthia, were always helpful—answering questions, exchanging currency, and arranging transportation. The hotel itself is breathtaking: the stained-glass ceiling is stunning, and the vintage elevator adds to the charm. We stayed in suite 204, overlooking the Zócalo, and enjoyed seeing the daily activities, the presidential palace, and even the evening flag ceremony. Our room was quiet, comfortable, with excellent air conditioning and a cozy electric fireplace. Breakfast in the open-air buffet was incredible, with attentive service from Maria, and we loved watching the falcons being trained—a unique and fascinating touch. The hotel’s central location made it easy to walk or take a taxi/Uber to the city’s main sights, and the nearby Hop-On Hop-Off red bus was perfect for exploring at night. This stay was unforgettable, and we will definitely choose Gran Hotel Ciudad de México again on our next trip.
"Historic hotel on the Zocalo"
This hotel, set in a historic palace on Mexico City’s central square, offers an enviable location for sightseeing and exploring the city center. The fourth-floor terrace provides stunning views of the square and the cathedral. While the rooms are a bit dated, they remain comfortable, and ours on the fourth floor, facing a side street, was quiet at night. The breakfast buffet was varied and well-served. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and we would definitely recommend it.
"A very special hotel experience"
This hotel provided a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The historic building is stunning, the on-site restaurant is excellent, and the location on the Zócalo is unbeatable. The staff were helpful and gracious, with Emmanuel in particular taking wonderful care of us. Despite travel advisories for other parts of Mexico, we felt completely safe. This stay was undoubtedly the most special part of our trip to Mexico City.
