Hotel Le Clarisse al Pantheon

"Friendly, helpful, courteous staff, great location"
I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. Tucked away on a narrow street just behind a bustling part of Rome, it’s only a few minutes’ walk to the Pantheon, the Jewish Quarter, and the Trevi Fountain. The hotel has a wonderfully old-world charm while still offering modern comforts such as an updated bathroom, reliable Wi-Fi, and efficient air conditioning and heating. The staff are friendly, helpful, and very quick to respond to any requests, while the café staff in particular are absolutely delightful and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I had to smile at the canned fruit cocktail and peaches at breakfast—growing up Italian-American, it brought back fond memories. The rooms are fairly soundproof, and the fan provides good white noise, but if you’re sensitive to late-night restaurant chatter, motorbikes, or early-morning construction, it’s worth requesting a room away from the street if possible. There’s no shortage of great places to eat nearby, and a visit to the Jewish Quarter for artichokes is an absolute must.
"Average"
A well-located boutique hotel where the old-world charm truly shines, though it comes with a few compromises in comfort. The elevator is small and slow, and there are multiple staircases to navigate. It’s ideal for short stays focused on sightseeing, but guests should not expect luxury, complete quiet, or the seamless experience of a modern hotel.
"Nice 3-star hotel in the middle of Rome"
The hotel staff were very nice, and the breakfast was good, making for a pleasant start to the day. Despite being on a busy street, we slept well and found the rooms comfortable. The location is excellent—just two blocks behind the Pantheon—placing you in a charming area filled with historic sites. Nearby attractions include the Opera Lirica di Roma, situated between the hotel and the Pantheon, as well as the beautiful Basilica di Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, both well worth a visit.
"Wonderful"
Location, location, location—this hotel is unbeatable for exploring historic Rome. As expected in the city center, the rooms are small and the bathrooms tiny, but this did not bother us. Our stay was very pleasant; the room was clean, comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well. Breakfast was wonderful, and the lady serving it was incredibly sweet. The front desk staff, especially Daniele, was attentive and respectful, providing excellent service. We would definitely choose to stay here again on a future trip to Rome.
"Nice but quirky"
This is a nice budget hotel with a slightly unusual layout and access, but the staff were very professional and attentive. The transfer service from the airport was expensive at €65, but the experienced drivers and modern, luxury cars made it worthwhile. The rooms appear not to have been updated in over a decade, yet the air conditioning worked perfectly—essential given the 38-degree heat outside. Overall, the hotel’s location is ideal, making it a convenient base for exploring the city.
"Wonderful accommodations close to the Pantheon"
We were looking for a hotel for a short two-day trip to Rome to visit our favorite site, the Pantheon, and this hotel more than met our needs. The room was lovely, the building secure, and the staff helpful and accommodating. Its location is excellent—just a short walk to the Pantheon and a variety of great restaurants—making it perfect for a brief but enjoyable stay in the city.
"Nice hotel"
A very nice little hotel perfectly located next to the Pantheon. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was well-maintained, clean, and stocked with tea and coffee, with towels replaced every morning. The only drawback was the inconsistent hot water—it stayed warm for about 30 seconds before turning either freezing cold or scalding hot, making the shower tricky to use. Aside from that, it was a really pleasant stay in an excellent location.
"Beautiful old hotel close to everything!"
We loved our stay here—everything was within walking distance, including multiple visits to the Pantheon and the Colosseum. The area has great food options, and breakfast featured delicious warm croissants. Our room was airy with very high ceilings, adding to the charm. A couple of practical notes: the elevator is tiny, and room access requires connecting to the hotel’s Wi-Fi first. Despite these minor quirks, we would not hesitate to stay here again thanks to the prime location and overall pleasant experience.
"A lovely place"
I loved my stay at Hotel Le Clarisse. The hotel staff were welcoming, knowledgeable, and extremely patient, making it easy for someone not fluent in Italian to feel comfortable. The room was comfortable, air-conditioned, and relaxing. While the hotel doesn’t offer many modern amenities or electronics, this is due to the building’s historic character. It’s a quaint boutique hotel, ideal for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the history and charm of Italy.
"Wrong room"
A very charming, old-world hotel in an absolutely fantastic location—right behind the Pantheon and within walking distance of most attractions. The staff were friendly, and the hotel was clean and well-maintained. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and despite having the windows open, we were not bothered by noise. The only downside was being assigned a Comfort Room despite having booked and paid for a Supervisor Room, which was disappointing and is the reason for only giving three stars.
Hotel Le Clarisse al Pantheon
Cozy hotel just steps from the Pantheon with classic Italian charm and modern comforts.
