"Lovely hotel in Rome"
What truly sets this hotel apart is the outstanding customer service—the staff are simply amazing. We also enjoyed the included breakfast in the charming courtyard each morning. The rooms were comfortable and clean, but given the price, they don’t fully match the cost, and there are no irons available due to the historic nature of the building.

The staff at this hotel are exceptional, providing attentive and friendly service. The rooms are very comfortable and well-appointed, making for a relaxing stay. The location is excellent, and the Bar Locarno is a highlight that cannot be beaten.

This hotel is unmissable for its rich history and ultra-central location. It’s simple rather than flashy, but reliable, with a concierge who is always attentive and helpful. Our room had been beautifully renovated, making for a very comfortable stay, though the only downside was the bathroom toilet.
"Atmosphere and grace of yesteryear"
We stopped by mid-morning to try some dishes from the breakfast menu and were thoroughly impressed. The elegance of the setting, the warm and professional welcome from the staff, and the high quality of the food made the experience truly excellent. Absolutely recommended.
"Wonderful old-style hotel"
This hotel is far from a modern, flashy property. Converted from a private house in the 1920s, much of its original character remains—the uncarpeted marble floors, untouched bathrooms, and even a delightful old cage-style lift. Despite the dated features, I rate it highly because of the staff. They are incredibly helpful, friendly, and genuinely caring, offering a level of service that is hard to find anywhere else.
"Worth splurging on!"
My wife and I first stayed at Hotel Locarno 30 years ago, and our return this year showed us it has only improved. We splurged on their second-to-best room, which was lovely, but the standout feature was the incredibly friendly and attentive service. Marco, Valentina, Beatrice, Simone, Mariana, and Ricardo at the front desk were exceptional, while Serena and the breakfast and bar staff provided consistently warm and professional service. The hotel, celebrating its 100th anniversary this year since opening in 1925, exudes charm, particularly with its Art Deco bar. We could not have been happier with our stay and would return without hesitation.
"Over rated"
The room had a very sterile and dated feel, with nothing particularly special about it. On the positive side, the bar and breakfast were very good, and the staff were nice and helpful. While the location is excellent, I felt the room was overpriced for what was offered and would likely choose a different hotel next time.
"An enchantment"
I enjoyed a coffee in a truly wonderful setting—elegant, quiet, and reserved, completely removed from the noise of other nearby hotels. I returned to this place in memory of an unforgettable interview I had conducted there with the writer Dominique Lapierre. It was a charming and relaxing break in an otherwise busy day. At the cashier, I was welcomed warmly in recognition of that special memory, which spoke volumes about the extraordinary staff. With such care and hospitality, I wholeheartedly recommend everyone experience this superbly charming hotel just steps from Via del Corso.
"Love this hotel"
We stayed here for three nights last week and loved it! This was our second visit—the first was 15 years ago—and it was wonderful to return. The hotel is in a great location for tourists, within walking distance of many main sights and excellent restaurants, which the front desk staff are happy to recommend. The property exudes a grand early twentieth-century charm, with first-rate service throughout. The courtyard bar is pleasant, although the rooftop was closed due to poor weather. Breakfast was excellent, and the bedrooms were decent, very quiet, with comfortable beds. The only downside, preventing a full five-star rating, was the user-unfriendly showers. It was tricky to step over the high roll-top bath and maneuver into the shower curtain without flooding the bathroom. Otherwise, everything else was very good, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
"EXCELLENT"
Having visited Rome since 2008, we have finally found our new favorite hotel. The location is fantastic—situated on a quiet street just steps from Piazza del Popolo. Built in 1925, the hotel is meticulously maintained, preserving its historic charm. What truly makes this hotel special, however, is the staff. Whether enjoying breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a drink, the service is consistently wonderful. Housekeeping is excellent, and the front desk staff are kind and helpful. Staying here is an experience you will not regret.
