"Overrated, not recommended"

Other than its proximity to the Guggenheim Museum, this hotel has very little to recommend. There was only one staff member at reception handling phones, check-ins, and concierge duties, resulting in a 20-minute wait to check in. The smell in the lobby was unpleasant, but in the room it was unbearable—I developed a headache within 30 minutes. The room itself was unclean, with a mattress on a chipped, dusty wooden base. Overall, the room was gross, and we had to check out immediately. To make matters worse, the hotel refused to refund the night.

"A hotel to enjoy"

Everything about this hotel was amazing, from reception to overall customer service. It’s truly a hotel designed for enjoyment. Our room overlooked the museum and was fantastic, with a very comfortable bed. Beyond the amenities, the staff’s warmth and attentiveness stood out—truly highlighting the human value of the hotel. I would rate the experience a perfect 10/10.

"Top location and top rooms at top price!"

We booked this hotel primarily for its location—just a 5-minute walk to the Guggenheim Museum—and were thrilled with the price-to-performance ratio. Situated opposite a garage, a 10-minute walk from the metro, and close to the old town, the location was ideal. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and comfortable. For anyone wanting to explore Bilbao independently, this hotel comes highly recommended!

"Paper Thin Walls"

The Miró is a chic, stylish hotel with thoughtful design touches. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, and the location near the Guggenheim is very convenient. The compact lobby opens into a cozy lounge with an honesty bar. Breakfast is available, though there is no in-house restaurant. My Privilege City View Room was relatively spacious, with a good-sized window, comfortable bed, marble bathroom, and upscale toiletries. Additional perks included ample charging points, a kettle, and a mini-fridge (empty). The room lacked a coffee machine and snacks, and the wooden stirrers instead of teaspoons felt a little cheap—but these were minor issues. Unfortunately, the walls are paper-thin. Noise from the street and neighboring rooms made it difficult to sleep, which was frustrating given the hotel’s otherwise appealing features. For a short stay, it’s manageable, but I would be cautious if planning a longer visit.

"Good location"

We stayed in room 83 on the top floor, which was very clean and offered a nice view with windows that could be opened. The hotel’s location, directly across from the Guggenheim, was excellent, and the surrounding neighborhood was perfect for walks. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was well-appointed. Breakfast was typical for a European hotel—nothing special but pleasant. We didn’t experience the traffic or noise mentioned in other reviews, likely because we were on the top floor. One minor drawback was the couch in the room, which was nearly unusable due to lack of nearby lighting for reading.

"Great location, teeny room"

The hotel is in a fabulous location—a quieter neighborhood than the old town, yet within walking distance, and right next to the Guggenheim. Service was friendly, and the honesty bar was a nice touch. I paid about €180 for an “Urban Room,” which was very small and rather bland in beige tones. It didn’t include breakfast, and the room design was impractical—for example, there was nowhere to hang coats or clothes. The black carpet also showed every hair, which was not ideal. The room is fine for a solo traveler for one night, and perhaps rooms with a view are better, but I would not stay here again.

"Urban, cozy and compact"

We booked a “Deluxe Room with Guggenheim Views” for five nights and stayed in room 52 on the 5th floor. The room faced the street, offering a nice view of the Guggenheim Museum and its iconic Puppy. The room was reasonably sized, furnished in a minimalistic style, with thick curtains cleverly dividing the space between the corridor/bathroom and the bedroom. The same curtains concealed the wardrobe, drawers, fridge, and safe. Our stay was comfortable, although over the weekend we experienced some noise due to poor soundproofing. The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was tasty, and overall service was good. The location along the river was excellent—close to the Guggenheim, Calatrava’s Bridge, and about 1 km from the old town. During our stay, we dined at Serrantes II, Victor Montes, Waman, and Eneko Basque, all within a 20–30 minute walk from the hotel. We were particularly impressed with Victor Montes for traditional cuisine and Waman for Peruvian cuisine.

"Verify your room first"

If you book a “Courtyard View” room, be aware that it is below ground level with no actual view. The rooms themselves are adequate but very spartan for the price. The staff were unfriendly, and the hotel seems to think and charge like the Ritz, yet it falls far short of that standard. For a better experience in Bilbao, I would recommend Hotel Tayko instead.

"Very poor value, very disappointing, mistake in the booking"

The staff at reception were relatively friendly and provided helpful information about the city and parking. However, the room itself was very disappointing. It had blind windows and felt very basic—comparable to a standard Accor hotel—yet came at a fairly high price, making it poor value for money. To make matters worse, we were given twin beds despite requesting a double. When we complained, the staff claimed we had booked twins, though my reservation clearly included a note requesting a large bed. They were unable to accommodate the correct bedding, which added to the frustration of an already disappointing stay.

"Great service"

We stayed here for one night on our way to San Sebastián. The location is excellent for visiting the Guggenheim, and our room offered a lovely view of the park and museum. The room was clean and nicely appointed. What truly stood out was the staff. When we had trouble finding an available bus to San Sebastián, the front desk’s knowledge and assistance were invaluable—they quickly helped us secure what we needed. Excellent service made our stay even better.

"The proximity to the Guggenheim Museum is interesting"

This pension is located directly opposite the Guggenheim Museum and close to underground parking, making it very convenient. The museum-facing rooms are a good size, with the shower separate from the main area. Rooms on the courtyard side are less appealing, lacking a view, but are more affordable. Breakfast is served by staff who bring hot drinks, eggs, and toast, though the service can feel a bit unfriendly.

"Hotel Miro, Bilbao- park with care"

We spent two nights at Hotel Miró, conveniently located across from the Guggenheim. Our stay was generally pleasant, though the rooms lacked amenities like a Nespresso-style coffee maker. The main issue occurred after we left the hotel: we received a parking fine for using a spot marked with an “H” in front of the hotel. Neither the valet nor the front desk warned us, and we were assured the car would be fine. Unfortunately, the hotel did not take any responsibility, which was disappointing. Breakfast was adequate but not as good as at other hotels we’ve stayed at. Overall, a nice stay with a caution regarding parking.
