"Great Location"
We stayed here for five nights in October 2025. After arriving by train from Florence, we took a taxi to the hotel—an experience in itself! Rome driving is definitely an adventure. The driver dropped us on a nearby street, but we soon found the hotel entrance, which conveniently allows taxi drop-offs at the front door. The hotel is perfectly located in the Jewish Quarter, offering easy access to the Centro Storico and just a short stroll over the bridge to Trastevere, as well as nearby Campo de' Fiori. For our anniversary, the hotel surprised us with a lovely bubbly welcome, which was a charming touch. Our room was a little small, typical for Rome, but comfortable, and breakfast was enjoyable. Positioned on the first floor near reception, we were not disturbed by any noise. The staff were extremely helpful with taxi arrangements, making it easy to explore the city and return at our leisure. Overall, a delightful stay in a fantastic location.

I don’t often write reviews, but it is my pleasure to highlight the exemplary service, outstanding hospitality, and wonderful ambiance of Hotel Monte Cenci in Rome. Despite being labeled a “boutique” hotel, the rooms are modern, well-appointed, and thoughtfully designed with stylish Roman decor. The property is clean, meticulously maintained, and offers amenities that make your stay both comfortable and memorable. The rooftop area, serving as both the breakfast reception and evening bar, is a delightful space to start your day or unwind after exploring the city. The staff here provide service that goes beyond expectations. Special mention goes to the front desk team, supervised by Charlie, whose high standards ensure that every guest receives genuine, attentive care. We felt welcomed in a way that was never pretentious or insincere. Shoutouts to Paulo, Idye, and Ana, who were always ready with advice on dining, sightseeing, or even local fast-food options—they truly love sharing Rome with their guests. In my many years of travel for business and government service, I have stayed in numerous hotels, but none match the warmth, professionalism, and charm of Hotel Monte Cenci. This hotel delivers a uniquely personal experience that makes you feel genuinely at home.
"ROMA!"
The hotel is ideally located just a stone’s throw from the Tiber, with a supermarket conveniently opposite. The staff are very friendly and helpful, making for a welcoming stay. Major attractions are all within a 30-minute reach, making it a great base for sightseeing. Breakfast on the roof terrace was decent, though we had hoped for more evening activity on the terrace—it was quiet during our May visit, perhaps due to cooler evenings. Overall, it’s a very good choice for those seeking a safe, comfortable, and convenient starting point for exploring Rome.

During my third stay, I felt as though I was returning home—not to friends, but to family. Every interaction, from morning cappuccinos to shared glasses of wine in the evening, offers the chance to connect, reflect, and learn. The staff’s warmth, generosity, and knowledge of Rome transform a beautiful hotel stay into something profoundly personal. The hotel itself is exquisite. From the gleaming lobby with soaring ceilings and restored medieval arches, harmoniously blended with modern touches, to the carefully curated rooms with thoughtful furnishings and cozy touches, every detail is designed to delight. The rooftop terrace offers a serene space for breakfast while listening to the morning birds, and the lobby bar—framed by medieval arches and glass shelving—is perfect for an evening aperitivo. The location is ideal: just a block from the Tiber, in a quiet corner of the city, yet within walking distance of iconic landmarks like the Pantheon, the Vatican, and the Borghese Gallery. Rome is best explored on foot, and staying here allows you to immerse yourself fully in its streets, architecture, and hidden gems. Hotel Monte Cenci is more than a place to stay—it is an introduction to the heart and soul of Rome, where every detail, every interaction, and every moment invites you to return, again and again.
"Very central location with the kindest and most service oriented staff"
This hotel offers a very pleasant stay with service-oriented staff who are always ready to assist, ensuring guests have the best experience possible. While the air conditioning was a bit noisy and there was some nearby construction during our stay, the central location more than makes up for it, providing easy access to all of Rome’s main attractions.

What more could you want from a hotel? Hotel Monte Cenci offers the perfect combination of central location and peaceful surroundings. The rooms are clean, practical, and comfortable, while the staff are exceptionally helpful and genuinely kind. Breakfast provides everything you could wish for, and the rooftop bar is a highlight—ideal for a relaxing drink during the day or an evening aperitif after exploring Rome. Our five-day stay left us feeling completely at ease and well cared for. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Eternal City!
"Nice base fairly central"
We stayed here for three nights before our cruise and found the hotel to be nicely located, relatively central, and close to the Garibaldi Bridge, which leads to some lovely restaurants in Trastevere. The rooms were typical city-size and comfortable, though the electrical sockets were a bit concerning—only one worked reliably with our two-pin adapter. Breakfast on the terrace was delightful and a lovely way to start the day. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. A Coop supermarket is conveniently located on the opposite corner for essentials. Overall, it was a nice and convenient stay in Rome.

The hotel itself is beautiful, spotless, and well-maintained, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. This was the best hotel experience I have ever had. The staff were warm, professional, and incredibly accommodating—they even picked up breakfast for us that met our dietary needs without any request. The hotel itself was beautiful, immaculate, and perfectly maintained. Truly an unforgettable stay!
