"Highly Recommended"
The hotel offers great service, exceptional cleanliness, and a very good breakfast. Its location is excellent, making it convenient to explore the city. The staff are always ready to assist and ensure a comfortable stay.
"Good location but room quality a let down"
The hotel benefits from a fantastic location and very helpful staff. The rooms were clean, but they definitely need some investment and TLC. The rooftop terrace is only accessible for breakfast guests, and the in-room phone didn’t work, so we had to call the main number from our mobile. It isn’t exactly a 24-hour concierge service. Guests with walking difficulties should be cautious, as some rooms are not at the main entrance, requiring a short walk of about 100 meters down a cobbled street with luggage. Fortunately, the doormen and women were very friendly and helpful. Overall, a decent stay but some practical issues to consider.
"Good stay"
We stayed four nights midweek and were impressed by the reception team, who were friendly and professional, though one older gentleman on the first day was less welcoming. Support staff were polite, and daily cleaning was excellent with thoughtful special touches. The modern shower room had plenty of hot water, storage was ample, and the bed was comfy and clean. Air conditioning worked well, though the carpet was a bit worn and soundproofing could be improved.
"Definitely an eye opener!!!"
Our travel agent booked this hotel based on past recommendations, but unfortunately it did not live up to expectations. Check-in was difficult, with a very grumpy older man at the desk giving abrupt instructions to younger staff. We had to leave our bags at the hotel until 3 pm, and retrieving them was cumbersome as staff struggled with the tiny storage space. The room was located about 50–60 meters away, down a cobbled street and through a massive door into a grotto-style hall. The lift was tiny, barely fitting two people with luggage, requiring multiple trips to reach the 5th floor. The corridors to the room were like a rabbit warren. The loft-style room had a roof window that couldn’t open, so ventilation was poor. The air conditioning provided minimal relief, but the bed and pillows were surprisingly comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and newly retiled. Noise was an issue, with other guests in the corridors and birds nesting on the roof. Getting luggage out at checkout was similarly difficult. While the hotel served its basic purpose, the experience was stressful and inconvenient. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it.
"Central location"
This hotel is perfectly located just steps from the Trevi Fountain, with plenty of nearby restaurants. The staff were very helpful, and the rooms were functional, though the bathrooms were quite small (typical for Rome). Carpets were a bit dirty, and the beds were extremely firm, but overall it was a convenient and comfortable base for exploring the city.
"Staff is great. Helpful and friendly"
The hotel staff were excellent—friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout our stay. The location is fantastic, just half a block from the fountain, giving easy access to central Rome. However, the approach to the hotel is challenging as vehicles cannot reach the entrance. Guests must walk with luggage over cobblestones, which is short but difficult, especially for those with heavy bags. Some rooms are located a block away from the main building, which adds to the inconvenience. Our room was comfortable with a good bed and a well-appointed bathroom, but we did encounter a roach on the wall. Breakfast was disappointing, both in quality and service. Overall, while the hotel has its positives, there are some practical issues that affected our stay.
"Hotel Trevi but taken to sister hotel"
We booked Hotel Trevi for its central location near the Trevi Fountain, but upon arrival we were redirected to their sister property, Al Manthia Hotel, which is about an 8-minute walk instead of 2 minutes. The staff were pleasant, and the rooms were very clean, though quite small and lacking tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast offered plenty of options and was good. The main advantage is the location—close to transport, restaurants, and sightseeing. Our 3-night stay was enjoyable, but for longer visits, a larger room would be preferable. Overall, a nice stay, but I wouldn’t pay the same price again given the room size and the unexpected relocation.
"Adequate"
The hotel benefits from a fantastic location and staff who do their best to assist guests. However, the décor is somewhat dated, and the foyer feels cramped. The staircase is extremely steep—the steepest I’ve seen in Rome—but there is a small lift for convenience. The dining area on the top floor appeared pleasant, though we did not have the opportunity to try it. Overall, a functional stay with helpful service, but some facilities could use updating.
"Overall a nice place to stay but some improvements needed"
This hotel is just a 2-minute walk from the Trevi Fountain, restaurants, and shops, making the location excellent. The room was modern, quiet, and comfortable. However, small details could be improved: the fridge only had a single powdered milk sachet for tea/coffee, and the lift is tiny—barely fits two people with luggage. The reception staff felt a bit abrupt and less welcoming than at other hotels we’ve stayed in. On arrival, they initially had no record of our prepaid reservation, and we had to email it to gain check-in. Overall, a good stay, but there are a few areas that could be smoother.
"Mind the Step"
This hotel is in an excellent location—just a five-minute walk from the Spanish Steps and about ten minutes from the Trevi Fountain. It has a boutique feel, with compact rooms and a layout that winds through what seems like several buildings joined together. You may need a map to find your room at first! Expect a few ups and downs—literally—as you go up three steps just to go down two. The “mind the step” signs could definitely be larger 😆. One downside is the lack of in-room coffee or tea facilities, which is a bit disappointing if you rely on a caffeine boost first thing in the morning. However, the breakfast offers good value, and there’s plenty of torta available. Overall, a centrally located hotel with charm and quirks—ideal for travelers who prioritize convenience and character.
