"Host hotel for our wedding… A+"

Although our wedding wasn’t held at the hotel, we chose Intercontinental Presidente to host our stay and welcome our guests—and it was exceptional. The events staff were meticulous, attentive, and catered to every detail, keeping us in constant communication throughout the planning process. Our bridal suite was simply stunning. Spacious and beautifully designed, it included a half bathroom by the entrance, a dining and living area, and a huge bedroom with a central shower, a massive walk-in closet, and a large bathroom. Floor-to-ceiling windows offered breathtaking views of Auditorio Nacional, Campo Marte, Chapultepec, and much of Mexico City. The suite also provided access to the Club Lounge, perfect for meeting family and coordinating celebrations. The hotel’s location in Polanco is ideal—just steps from Parque Lincoln, trendy restaurants, and bars, and close to Paseo de la Reforma for easy access to other parts of the city. The dining options are outstanding, with in-house restaurants such as Au Pied de Cochon, Alfredo di Roma, Chapulín, The Palm, Tokoya, Amaral, Lilou, and Café Urbano, complemented by the many premium options in the surrounding neighborhood. Every staff member we interacted with—from bellmen and concierge to housekeeping, servers, and management—was friendly, professional, and a pleasure to work with. Intercontinental Presidente perfectly combines luxurious accommodations, exceptional service, and world-class dining. We wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else in Mexico City.

"Well located typical intercontinental hotel"

Nothing really wrong with it well located hotel that does the job. My only criticism is that coffee and tea were often not refilled and had to ask for extra water. One piece of advice - DONT use hotel taxis use ubers . They are so so much cheaper and just as reliable. Room clean i paid for the breakfast which wasn’t bad all though cheeky if u want an expresso or cappacino they charge u extra

"A not so great experience …"

This Intercontinental is located in a pleasant, green area of Mexico City, but the hotel shows its age despite some renovations. The lobby is huge but feels outdated, and when we arrived around 9 PM, the music was very loud. As Intercontinental Ambassadors, we were promised an upgrade, but the room we received offered little advantage—mainly a view of the park and a busy road, which actually made the street noise more noticeable. The room itself was rather small, with an awkwardly positioned bathroom and poor acoustic insulation, so door slamming could be heard clearly. We had opted for lounge access, but found it crowded with children and noisy guests on phones, which made it hard to relax. Having stayed at many Intercontinental hotels worldwide, this location was disappointing and did not meet the high standards we’ve come to expect from the brand.

"Appreciate the early check-in for free. Did not like paying 18X for water"

We had a good stay at the Intercontinental Mexico City, though compared to other Intercontinentals we’ve visited, this one was the least impressive. On the positive side, the service was excellent. We arrived around 9 AM and were kindly granted early access to our room at no extra charge—a welcome relief after a less accommodating experience at a nearby hotel. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-designed, featuring quality bedding, blackout shades, and a spectacular city view. However, there were a few drawbacks. The breakfast buffet was smaller than expected for an Intercontinental, and the hotel charges 180 pesos for 1 liter of bottled water—far higher than the 10 pesos at a nearby store. This felt excessive, especially since tap water isn’t drinkable. The lounge was pleasant, with tasty evening desserts, though the noise from the kitchen door was noticeable, and self-service coffee, tea, or water would be a nice addition. Overall, while the hotel excels in service and comfort, the limited breakfast and water policy leave a less favorable impression. With some thoughtful adjustments, it could easily meet the high standards expected from the Intercontinental brand.

"Great overall experience and great concierge service"

We recently stayed for two nights and since we had a very short day, we wanted to make sure we maximized the opportunity for sightseeing, restaurants, etc. We worked very closely with the concierge, Alfredo Martinez who couldn’t have been more helpful and absolutely on target for what we needed to see and do . The restaurants he recommended were great, exactly as he described them. Beyond our experience with Alfredo, the hotel is clean, beautiful, has great views, restaurants, and service.

"Worst customer service and hospitality in a very long time for a “”5 stars” hotel"

The hotel’s location is perfect for shopping, walking, and dining, and it has undergone renovations since my stay over 30 years ago. While the restaurants are pleasant and enjoyable, the room layouts feel awkward—the arrangement of bathroom, shower, sink, and closet could be much more practical. Unfortunately, the service did not match the hotel’s surroundings. In our large family group of over 10 people, housekeeping was inconsistent—two of my siblings didn’t receive service on separate days, and when rooms were serviced, essentials like towels or bottled water were sometimes missing. The club lounge staff seemed either undertrained or understaffed, often unhelpful, in a bad mood, or even confrontational during requests, particularly around happy hour. The concierge was largely unhelpful, and requests to speak with a manager went unanswered for five days, despite follow-up assurances via WhatsApp. Despite these service challenges, we still had a wonderful time celebrating with family, and the location and family-friendly atmosphere were definite highlights.

"Average and overpriced."

Room could do with a refurb. Nice reception but definitely a 4 star feel. Breakfast busy and average. Polite staff. Not worth more than £250 per night and cost an outrageous amount more than double that.

Stylish 5‑star property in Polanco with polished service, luxurious rooms, and a great location near museums and gourmet spots.
