"Clean Hotel with Great Location but Poor Staff Attitude"

The hotel was clean, the rooms matched the photos, the location was perfect, and the breakfast was excellent. However, we were disappointed by the behavior of some female staff members on the evening of our check-in (July 24). Instead of welcoming guests and assisting with check-in, they spent time watching TikTok videos together. One staff member spoke very poor English and was unable to activate our room card, which was frustrating.

"I was excited POR the positive reviews… I was wrong! NO VOLVERIA!!!"

I chose this hotel based on positive reviews, but unfortunately, I was mistaken. I didn’t realize the rooms facing the front are right next to the train tracks, making them very noisy. The rest of the hotel looked basic and somewhat like a budget place for students. There was constant noise from portable equipment, which was unnecessary but loud. Check-out was at 10 AM, and breakfast was poor—what they called “sausage” was more like ham. Overall, it felt like a typical 3-star hotel but didn’t meet my expectations. I would not stay here again.

"Great customer service & accommodations"

Mayeli and Rosa were incredibly accommodating during our stay, helping us print our Machu Picchu tickets to avoid any issues before our early 5 a.m. bus departure. They also assisted us with a late check-out, which was much appreciated. The rooms were very clean and welcoming, and the staff showed great patience with our limited language skills. The hotel’s location is very convenient—just close to the train station and shopping areas. I highly recommend Inti Punku Machu Picchu Hotel & Suites for anyone visiting Machu Picchu.

"Correct but Improveable Hotel"

Overall, my stay was good, thanks largely to the hardworking and very friendly staff—especially Rosalinda at the front desk. However, a few issues kept it from being a great experience. At breakfast, most tables were left uncleared, and the food was often cold or unavailable. The owners clearly need more staff, as breakfast ends early at 8:30 a.m. On a positive note, they thoughtfully prepared a breakfast bag for us to take on our Machu Picchu bus trip. One important area for improvement is the front desk’s knowledge about the Machu Picchu trek. When I asked about the distance and time to the trailhead, they seemed unsure, and one incorrectly said walking was not allowed. Since this was my second visit, I knew better and walked the 20-25 minute downhill route myself, bringing a flashlight for the early morning start. I even shared detailed info and a map with the front desk, but they didn’t seem interested. Given that Machu Picchu is the main reason people visit Aguas Calientes, it seems crucial for staff to be well-informed. The room (708) was nice, featuring a separate shower and tub, air conditioning, and excellent TV options via Direct TV. Knowing what I know now, I would definitely stay here again, thanks to the genuinely kind staff.

"Great, friendly staff at 3 star facility with some perks."

The staff here are fantastic, which likely explains many of the five-star reviews. However, I believe no hotel without reliable air conditioning should earn five stars. Our room had a small portable AC unit that kept shutting off every two hours due to drainage problems. The furniture showed noticeable wear and tear. While the hotel advertises itself as a 3-star property, I’m not sure what some reviewers on TripAdvisor are expecting. Our family room didn’t resemble the pictures shown on the booking site. That said, Aguas Calientes is filled with hostels, and this hotel is definitely one of the higher-end options. Breakfast was very good, the internet was fast, and the location can’t be beat.

"A nice place to stay"

This hotel boasts a fantastic location and friendly, hardworking employees. However, the staff seemed understaffed—breakfast service ended at 8:30, and one lady was juggling both cleaning tables and assisting at the front desk, which felt unfair to both staff and guests. The room was clean, and I appreciated the thoughtful touch of finding a rose on my bed when I arrived. On the downside, the WiFi was very weak, and the refrigerator didn’t work. Check-out is at 10 a.m., but they kindly held our luggage for us when our train departed later, which was a great help. If I return to Machu Picchu, I would stay here again.

"Flora 5 stars. Best person at this hotel."

The hotel’s location near the train station is very convenient, though it means windows can’t be opened due to noise and fuel smells—but it’s manageable with them closed. Flora stood out with her excellent, friendly service; she was helpful and patient, making our stay better. Unfortunately, not all staff were as pleasant. A gentleman at the front desk during check-in was quite rude. While we waited patiently in line, he let guests who arrived after us check in ahead. When we asked about it, he brushed us off, saying he’d get to us eventually. Unlike the others, he didn’t provide any information about checkout times or breakfast unless prompted—and seemed annoyed when we asked for details. Overall, Flora’s kindness made a big difference despite the mixed experience with other staff.

"Great experience!"

This lovely hotel is centrally located and very clean. What made my stay truly pleasant was the warmth and kindness of Mayeli and Rosa. Mayeli even went the extra mile by picking me up from the station! Their friendly service made all the difference. Highly recommended!

"Good location, luggage storage and staff are friendly"

The room was small, and the breakfast offered was somewhat limited. However, the service was very good—especially from Estefani and the young man at the evening reception. They also provided convenient luggage storage. The hotel’s location is excellent, just a short walk from the train station, making it very convenient for travelers.

Inti Punku Machupicchu Hotel & Suites

About a 5-minute walk to the train and bus, offering quiet rooms with elevated views, strong breakfast, helpful concierge and free luggage storage. One reviewer called it a "perfect place" to stay.
