"Mixed Experience with Septorhinoplasty in Istanbul"

I traveled from the UK to have a septorhinoplasty with Dr. Ergin Er, and while the final outcome of my nose is aesthetically pleasing and I can breathe better, the overall experience was far from smooth. There are several key issues that potential patients should be aware of. To start, there was no medical consultation before I arrived—just WhatsApp communication. For such a significant and costly procedure, it was disappointing not to have any medical checks or direct conversation with the surgeon ahead of time. Basic pre-operative evaluations were only done on the day of surgery, when the anesthesiologist suspected I might have a throat infection. Despite this concern, the surgery went ahead without much discussion. The hospital facilities were underwhelming and didn’t meet the standards I expected. On the day of the procedure, the focus seemed to be entirely on collecting payment. I felt isolated, especially with staff like Yasin, who spoke in their own language in front of me and seemed annoyed when I paid in two installments. It felt dismissive and unwelcoming. I met Dr. Ergin for only about 10 minutes before the surgery. While he seemed competent, the consultation was rushed, and I didn’t feel truly seen or heard. Post-op support was also lacking. There were no check-ins during the healing week or even in the two months since the surgery. The cast removal was particularly painful, and the staff’s lack of empathy during the process was disheartening. I was visibly in pain and crying, yet everything felt rushed and impersonal. That same morning, I fainted at the hotel due to bleeding and swelling, which finally prompted more attentive care at the hospital. I was given fluids, food, and medication, and Dr. Ergin did come to check on me. A kind male nurse stayed with me and was genuinely helpful—I regret not getting his name. Language barriers added to the stress. Most staff, including receptionists, spoke limited English, making communication difficult. I also felt a lack of warmth or hospitality, which made an already emotional and vulnerable situation harder. In summary, while I’m pleased with the physical results, the process was emotionally taxing and lacking in patient-centered care. I wouldn’t recommend this experience to others, particularly for those traveling from abroad without support. Pre-op transparency, empathy, and communication are crucial, and sadly, those were missing here.

"Poor Communication Raises Concerns"

Over the course of a week, I attempted to contact this clinic through every available channel—WhatsApp, Messenger, contact form, and email—but received no response. The complete lack of communication is extremely frustrating and unprofessional. It raises serious doubts about the reliability and credibility of the clinic. At this point, it feels like a dodgy operation, and I would advise others to proceed with caution.

"From SXM to Istanbul: A Life-Changing Experience at Istanbul Aesthetic Center"

Hi! I'm from the Caribbean island of St. Maarten (SXM), juggling life as a full-time student and worker. Undergoing surgery abroad was a huge step for me, and though I was scared at first, I took the leap—and I’m so glad I did! In February 2021, I had my first surgery: a rhinoplasty that cost €3,500. I fell in love with the results immediately. The care and support I received made all the difference. Mr. Yasin and Mrs. Sebnem are two of the kindest human beings I've ever met—genuinely compassionate and incredibly professional. Mrs. Sebnem, my translator, was helpful every step of the way. Mr. Yasin, the manager, went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect—from booking and follow-ups to making sure I got home safely. I honestly don’t know how they manage to give each client such personal attention, but they do it with heart and excellence. Thanks to them, the Istanbul Aesthetic Center, and of course the grace of God, my dream became a reality. I’ll be sharing my final results after my six-month mark, so stay tuned!
