"Disappointing Experience with Jin Air – Poor Reliability and Customer Support"

This was my second time booking with Jin Air, and unfortunately, it will be my last. The first time, I booked three tickets for travel between Seoul and Sapporo. Since each fare class had only one seat left, I had to go through the hassle of booking three separate times to secure them. While inconvenient, I overlooked it back then. However, my recent experience was much worse. I booked their "Super Low" fare for a roundtrip between Seoul and Hong Kong. The flight was abruptly cancelled about 1.5 months before departure, citing vague reasons like "changes in the airline’s business plan." There was no automatic refund, no offer for a free rebooking, and certainly no compensation. I had already spent time queueing to buy that promotional fare, and now I was forced to waste even more time applying for a refund and searching for alternative flights. Clearly, the airline places little value on customers’ time or convenience. Update (29 May 2025): A flight I booked for 25 June 2025 was cancelled with less than a month’s notice—again under the same excuse of “changes in the airline’s business plan.” It’s clear they were aware of the cancellation well in advance but deliberately delayed informing passengers. The way Jin Air treats its customers and dodges responsibility is astonishing. I will be avoiding this airline moving forward.

"Great Experience with Jin Air – Smooth Check-In and Delicious In-Flight Meals"

So far, this has been one of the best airline experiences we've had! The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and the in-flight meals were surprisingly delicious. We really appreciated the convenience and overall service that Jin Air provided. Thank you, Jin Air, for the comfortable and pleasant flight. Wishing you continued success!

"Disappointed by Lack of Service Despite High Ticket Price"

I was quite disappointed with my experience. There was absolutely no complimentary food service on board, and even getting a cup of water felt like pulling teeth from the steward. This was especially frustrating given the relatively high cost of the ticket. For the price paid, I expected at least the basic comforts to be included.

"Jin Air Headquarters — What’s the Link with Korean Air?"

This location is literally the headquarters of Jin Air. If you're curious about their background: Jin Air is actually a low-cost subsidiary of Korean Air. That means Korean Air owns and operates Jin Air as part of its broader airline group, but Jin Air functions independently with its own branding and budget-friendly service model.

Jin Air

Jin Air Co., Ltd. (진에어) is a South Korean low-cost airline that operates both domestic and international flights. As of April 2018, Jin Air serves six domestic cities and 26 international destinations. The airline made its mark in the industry by launching its first long-haul route between Incheon and Honolulu in December 2015. Additionally, Jin Air has been offering cargo services since November 2013, expanding its operations. Notably, Jin Air is recognized as the first widebody low-cost carrier (LCC) in South Korea, and by 2018, it was South Korea's second-largest low-cost carrier. That year, the airline carried 3.5 million domestic passengers and 5.4 million international passengers, holding an 11% share of the domestic market and 6% share of the international market. Jin Air has increasingly focused on its international market while seeing a slight decline in its domestic traffic in recent years.
