JW Marriott Hotel Mexico City Polanco

"Great views from the hallway"
As we headed to our room, the views from the hallway over Mexico City were stunning—you could see both the city and the surrounding mountains. However, the room itself faced the other wing of the hotel, which felt like an odd design choice. Otherwise, the hotel was very nice, with comfortable beds and friendly staff. The Concierge Lounge offered a good breakfast, though we found it closed in the afternoons and after dinner, which limited its use. Overall, a pleasant stay with minor layout and accessibility quirks.
"Excellent hotel"
Our stay at this hotel was wonderful overall—the views were breathtaking, the room service exceptional, and the pool amenities, including the palettes, were excellent. One hiccup occurred during our spa visit on Saturday, March 1st. We had booked a massage with an external company and arrived 10 minutes early, but our session was delayed. Miss Melina at the spa reception explained a previous appointment had run late and asked us to wait about 10 minutes—but the wait extended to over 40 minutes. During this time, she repeatedly insisted we accept a discount for extra massage time, pressuring us despite our polite refusals. The delay and the repeated insistence caused discomfort and even made us miss the hotel’s last dinner, leaving only time for room service that night. Once the massage began, however, the experience was excellent. The therapists were attentive and professional—Paulina worked on my back and legs and was very effective, while Miss Nadia helped my husband with neck pain. We truly appreciated their care and sympathy. Despite the spa delay, we had a wonderful stay and will definitely return.
"Bar hopping in Polanco"
This hotel offers a fantastic location, good service, and overall high-quality accommodations. The bar at the steakhouse is lively and enjoyable, adding to the experience. Having been recently renovated, the property feels fresh and well-maintained, making for a comfortable and pleasant stay.
"4 stars is more accurate"
The staff at this hotel were absolutely wonderful, providing friendly and attentive service throughout our stay. The property itself is fine, but it didn’t quite feel like a true 5-star hotel. I expect a higher level of luxury, attention to detail, and stylish touches in a 5-star property, which were largely missing here. For example, there was no bathrobe, bathroom lighting was minimal, there was no business lounge, and the room itself was fairly average. The pricing felt quite high for what was offered, though I would still rate the hotel 4 stars based on the excellent staff, convenient location, cleanliness, and the quality of dining at Corsi Restaurant.
"I miss the old JW"
I have stayed at this hotel on all my trips to Mexico City since it first opened. After its renovations, I initially chose other hotels, but I’ve returned twice in the past two months. The service remains great, with attentive and friendly staff, which is a major plus. However, the new lounge feels like a downgrade compared to the original, and with the higher rates, there are now better options in the city, such as the Kimpton Virgilio or Las Alcobas. While Las Alcobas is pricier, it offers significantly more value for the money.
"Excellent hotel in THE BEST neighborhood!"
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the JW Marriott Hotel Mexico City. After researching extensively and debating between The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, and Four Seasons, we’re thrilled we chose this hotel—mainly for its unbeatable location. Unlike the other options, which are in busier, more business-focused areas, the JW is just a 5–7 minute walk to the charming Polanco main area, full of delightful restaurants, bars, and shops, and about a 10-minute stroll to high-end designer stores like Hermès, LV, and Gucci. Ubers are very affordable, making it easy to explore Roma or the city center. The recently renovated property is lovely and modern. The M Club offered a great selection of food, beds were comfortable, and the shower had excellent water pressure. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating. We would absolutely stay here again on a future trip to Mexico City.
"Perfect location and amazing service"
The JW Marriott Hotel Mexico City delivers a consistently high-quality experience. The recent renovations make both the rooms and common areas feel fresh, modern, and upscale. The bar and restaurant are excellent, offering convenient options for both drinks and meals. Service throughout our stay was attentive and professional, and the location is ideal—close to all that Polanco has to offer. Overall, a comfortable and well-positioned choice for both business and leisure travelers in Mexico City.
"Great stay!"
Wonderful stay. Large comfortable rooms. Great location & service. We will definitely stay here again. Great views of the city as well.
