"Not Worth The Hype"

This highly touted, “uniquely different” Indian restaurant was a total disappointment. The atmosphere was unbearably loud, and our server couldn’t explain the unique dishes or their preparation. The food arrived almost instantly—more like fast food than a fine dining experience, yet we paid $100 per person. The Chef Special shrimp appetizer, a riff on shrimp and grits encased in rice powder batter, looked interesting but was terrible in taste. The beef rib, surprisingly on the menu at an Indian restaurant, resembled Texas brisket rather than Indian cuisine. None of the unique dishes lived up to expectations. “Different” doesn’t automatically mean good, and in this case, it certainly wasn’t. I wouldn’t return for a single dish.

"Kanyakumari NYC – A Taste That Surpasses Borders 🇮🇳✨"

Absolutely blown away by the flavors at Kanyakumari in NYC! The food here rivals—and in some cases surpasses—what I’ve had in India. Each dish was perfectly spiced, incredibly fresh, and beautifully plated. Every bite transported me straight to the southern coast. Can’t wait to share the photos—these flavors truly deserve to be seen!

"Rude hostess"

We arrived 15 minutes early for our 5 PM reservation, after driving an hour in a rainstorm, only to be rudely told by the hostess, Amelia, “we’re not open yet, you need to leave.” When I asked to sit in a chair at the entrance without disturbing anyone, I was again told no. I requested to cancel the reservation without penalty, which was done immediately—but the lack of courtesy was shocking. We ended up at a Michelin-starred restaurant, where we were warmly welcomed. Despite emailing this restaurant twice, we received no response. A quick look into this mini restaurant “group” shows similar patterns of poor customer service and short-lived operations. Based on this experience, I expect this location will likely follow suit.

"Overrated noisy place with overpriced uninspiring food."

This “compact but contemporary” Indian restaurant is popular for its coastal South Indian cuisine. The single-door entrance feels a bit undersized, but inside, the bright ambiance, warm lighting, and charming umbrella-shaped table lamps add character. The staff were friendly, attentive, and professional. Unfortunately, the food was overpriced, overly oily, and lacked flavor—far from ideal for health-conscious diners. Vegetarian options were limited and uninspiring. The dining area was noisy, with closely packed tables making conversation difficult. If you’re seeking a relaxed, quiet meal or healthier and more varied vegetarian options, this may not be the best choice.

"Expensive and almost no food."

Ridiculously overpriced with almost no food. While the service was fine and the spice level was good, the portions were absurdly small. The vegetable stew, for example, had barely anything—just a handful of green beans, a few carrots and peas, and half a stalk of asparagus. I left hungry and won’t be returning.

"Awesome food with good service food is amazing it’s a wonderful place with authentic taste bit expensive but worth it"

This place serves some of the best South Indian food, and the staff is very courteous. The masala dosa is a must-have—absolutely stunning and outstanding. While the mocktails are also delicious, nothing quite matches the food. A must-visit spot, great for everyone!
