"Best Rooftop Spot in Arequipa’s Main Square"
This is one of the top hotel-restaurants right in the main square, offering a beautiful rooftop with unbeatable views. Food prices range from 30 to 80 soles, drinks are around 12 soles, and desserts are typically 25–28 soles. It’s the perfect place to enjoy the sunset and capture stunning photos of the plaza. Highly recommended!

This hotel is set right on the central square of Arequipa, featuring a lovely rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the plaza. Its location makes it easy to walk everywhere in the city. However, the reception and public areas feel somewhat dated and could use a refresh.
"Disappointing Stay at Katari Hotel"
This hotel feels quite pretentious and unwelcoming, with staff that come across as almost judgmental upon arrival. Its central location is really the only positive. The rooftop, often advertised as one of the best, is actually small and underwhelming. Service seems to depend on what language you speak, and access upstairs is controlled by a gatekeeper, which makes the experience feel restrictive. Overall, the Katari lacks warmth and hospitality—you’ll find better options elsewhere.

Absolutely the best location in Arequipa! The front desk staff were fantastic and made everything run smoothly. The hotel was spotless—clean, clean, clean—and the ambiance was wonderful. The location couldn’t be better, right in the heart of the city. It was definitely one of our best stays while traveling through Peru. For airport pickup, it’s best to arrange with another service recommended by a very kind young man. Truly a memorable experience—thanks, Antonio Banderas!

We had a truly fantastic stay at this hotel. The staff were very professional, kind, and always courteous, offering assistance whenever needed—especially with laundry and transportation arrangements. We really appreciated the spacious rooms, the terrace restaurant with its magnificent view of Misti, and the attentive service throughout our stay. "Fantastic Location, But No Hot Water"
The hotel boasts a great location with stunning rooftop views. Unfortunately, our stay was overshadowed by the fact that we had no hot water in our room, despite having a beautiful bath. We couldn’t even take a proper shower. Although we reported the issue to the staff, it felt like the focus here is more on the location and view rather than ensuring guests’ comfort.
"Poorly Managed Breakfast Experience"
The breakfast service was very disappointing. Staff were inattentive, and the selection was minimal—just some dried fruit and leftover cheese. We only received the menu after waiting nearly 20 minutes, by which time we were almost ready to leave. Since we had to catch a bus, we asked if our order could be brought quickly, but instead were told it would take another 10 minutes, after we had already waited 5. Staff tried to excuse the delay by claiming breakfast started later than the time given at the front desk, which was simply untrue. Overall, the experience was poorly managed and unprofessional.

This was one of our favorite hotels in Lima. The staff were incredibly kind, and our room was charming with thoughtful touches for our honeymoon that made us feel truly special. The rooftop bar was another highlight—perfect for relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would happily return.

The rooftop is the perfect spot for a drink, offering breathtaking views of Misti volcano, the sunset, and the Plaza de Armas. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the pisco sour is excellent—highly recommended!
"Great Location, But Needs Serious Refurbishment"
The hotel is right on Arequipa’s main square, which is a fantastic location—but unfortunately, that’s about the only real highlight. Comfort and breakfast were average, amenities were poor, and both the entrance and rooms felt tired. We even found a dirty towel and noticed cello tape (!) holding the door lock in room 304. While the price was reasonable, the hotel could greatly improve its value with some much-needed refurbishment.
