"Great Food and Service, but Booking Issue Detracted from the Experience"

We visited for my cousin’s birthday as a group of ten, but unfortunately, due to a booking error, we were split into two tables of five — not what we had planned or booked. Despite this hiccup, the on-site staff were absolutely fantastic and went out of their way to make the evening feel special. The food was a definite highlight — the pie, in particular, was delicious! Special thanks to Magda, who was especially wonderful and helped make the night memorable. We’d definitely consider coming back, but perhaps as a smaller group next time to avoid any booking complications.

"Lively Atmosphere and Friendly Staff, But Overcooked Steaks Disappointed"

The restaurant had a great vibe and the staff were warm and welcoming. Unfortunately, both our steaks and the côte de boeuf were overcooked — far from the medium rare we had requested. Disappointingly, nothing was done to remedy the issue when we raised it. If you plan to dine here, make sure to clearly confirm your steak temperature and double-check when it arrives. The ambiance is enjoyable, but the kitchen consistency left us wanting.

"Mixed Dining Experience with Disappointing Service at the End"

Our dinner last night left us feeling underwhelmed overall. While the steak frites and desserts were both enjoyable, several of the starters fell short — the St. Jacques scallops and cheese soufflé were heavily oversalted, and the rabbit portion was surprisingly small, more akin to a child-sized chicken leg. The lamb chops were similarly tiny. We also had a discrepancy with the corkage fee, having been quoted one price but charged another. Thankfully, the issue was resolved quickly and professionally, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the evening ended on a sour note when, less than a minute after stepping outside and waiting for our Uber, a security staff member approached us aggressively and asked us to leave the premises. It was an unnecessary and unpleasant end to what should have been a relaxed evening.

"Charming Pre-Theatre Dining with Great Vibes and Wine Selection"

We visited the restaurant after a matinee of Macbeth and before seeing Mark Rylance in Juno & Paycock — and it was a lovely experience. The steak frites was perfectly cooked, and the wine menu offered plenty of great options. Between 5:00 and 6:30pm, the atmosphere struck a perfect balance — calm and cozy in the restaurant, while the bar area had a buzzy, chic vibe with people coming and going. The only slight letdown was the service. I specifically requested a whiskey with a single ice cube but was served it on the rocks instead. A small misstep in an otherwise delightful visit.

"Exceptional Stay at Kettner’s – Warm, Welcoming, and Truly Memorable"

What can I say — Kettner’s is simply an amazing place to stay. The entire team was incredibly kind and welcoming, with special thanks to Kine and Gabby who went above and beyond to support my family through some travel challenges. Their thoughtfulness and exceptional service made a real difference in our experience. I can’t wait to return in the New Year! I highly recommend Kettner’s to anyone visiting London — it’s a place where genuine hospitality shines.
