"Great relaxation destination!"
The Hacienda at Krystal Grand is a wonderful destination if you’re looking to truly relax. We stayed in a pool room, which gave us our own private pool and lounge area. The water was so warm that we could even enjoy our morning coffee while sitting in the pool—such a peaceful way to start the day. There were so many lovely staff members, and I truly wish I could remember all their names. The gentleman who checked us in was incredibly helpful and set the tone for a fantastic stay right from the beginning. The buffet staff were consistently friendly and attentive, and a special thank you to the team at La Talavera who made sure we got our ice cream every day at lunch! The wonderful woman who prepared our coffee each morning was so sweet and welcoming. Housekeeping and the bar cart staff took great care of our room, keeping everything clean and comfortable. Alejandro, who assisted us on our last day, was especially courteous and helpful. I also love that guests have access to both sides of the property, which gives you more options for pools, dining, and atmosphere. My only complaint would be that the à la carte restaurants were a bit disappointing, as the food did not meet our expectations. However, the buffet food was enjoyable and offered a nice variety. Overall, we highly recommend the Hacienda at Krystal Grand for a relaxing getaway, and we are very grateful to everyone who made our stay so special.
"The Hacienda Krystal Grand PV"
We just spent another fantastic two weeks at the Hacienda at Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta! This was our third year in a row staying here, and we will definitely be returning again. The location is excellent and continues to be one of the reasons we love coming back. The buffet offered a great variety of food, and the à la carte restaurants also featured numerous menu options, giving us plenty of choices throughout our stay. The service truly stands out—pool servers Cesar, Carlos, Antonio, and Miguel, along with the bartenders, were all exceptional. Marissa, Rubin, Fernando, and Miguel also provided outstanding service during the breakfast and lunch buffets. Their friendliness and attentiveness made our experience even more enjoyable. We stayed in a pool-view king room. While the room is a bit dated and could benefit from some updates, housekeeping did an excellent job keeping everything clean and tidy. Overall, we had a wonderfully relaxing vacation, even with the construction noise from the condo building next door. If there is one area that needs more attention, it would be the pool bathrooms. All stalls should be fully functional and available for use, rather than having only one working stall in the ladies’ restroom. This is something management should monitor more closely. That said, we truly enjoyed our stay once again and look forward to coming back next year.

Karla from reception was absolutely amazing and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. She was understanding, attentive, and truly went above and beyond to make our trip meaningful and memorable. Her professionalism and warm personality made a lasting impression, and she definitely deserves five stars. We look forward to coming back to this beautiful, clean, and peaceful resort again soon!
"The treatment of their staff is very remarkable, they are truly friendly at all times"
The check-in process was quick and friendly, and the staff took the time to clearly explain every question we had. Overall, the facilities are in good condition. In our case, we had access to both hotels and noticed the same high level of cleanliness in each. Personally, I prefer staying at the Treasury section because it is adults-only, which creates a more peaceful atmosphere. Our room (408) was spacious and very clean. I especially want to highlight the second-floor terrace with a jacuzzi—it was a fantastic feature. The bathroom door was not functioning properly at first, but once we reported it, the issue was promptly addressed and repaired. The cleanliness was genuine; on one occasion, I returned just after housekeeping had finished, and the floor was still slightly wet, which showed that it had truly been cleaned—not just the bed made, as I’ve seen in other hotels. The towels and linens were excellent quality. The buffet food service is very good. I did not try any protein (tuna, beef, pork, fish, salmon) that I disliked. While the presentation may not be at a “gourmet” level, it is more than adequate for the hotel category, and there were no long waiting times. The gym was also very clean and functional, with machines in good condition, along with benches and dumbbells—more than enough for a proper workout. I must especially commend the staff. As a Mexican guest in a hotel with predominantly foreign visitors, I never once felt overlooked or treated differently. The service was ALWAYS EXCELLENT—professional, respectful, and warm at all times. There are a few areas of opportunity that could help the hotel improve even further. First, the in-room minibar was only refilled once during our stay and was quite limited. I would suggest adding simple snacks like peanuts, as other hotel chains do—some even include small liquor bottles. I’m not sure if someone is specifically assigned to this, but it seemed somewhat neglected. Second, the room had minor aesthetic details (such as door finishes and a bathroom mirror that, while functional, was in poor condition) that did not look bad but slightly reduced the overall category feel. Third, at the Hacienda hotel pool, there was a noticeable issue with guests reserving lounge chairs as early as 5 a.m. by placing towels on them. Many of these chairs remained empty for hours while other guests had to leave their belongings on the grass or floor. This practice does not align with the type of hotel experience one would expect. In my opinion, the positive aspects far outweigh these areas of improvement. The hotel is already very good and has strong potential to become truly excellent.
"Under construction"
This is a genuine and honest review. There is construction happening everywhere around the resort, which definitely affects the overall atmosphere and relaxation factor. Because of this, we would currently recommend choosing a different resort until the renovations and building projects are completed. That being said, the staff are absolutely wonderful—friendly, hardworking, and always doing their best to provide excellent service despite the ongoing disruptions. Unfortunately, the food is only about a 3-star level at most and could use improvement in both quality and consistency. We believe the resort has strong potential, and once all renovations and construction are finished, it will likely be a much nicer place to stay. We look forward to seeing the improvements next year.
"Happy we came"
The location is excellent, offering a beautiful setting with a relaxed and calm atmosphere in one section, while other areas have more of a lively, party vibe. Our room was comfortable and met our expectations. Although our friends experienced some issues, including a temporary power outage and a few inconveniences, the staff handled everything promptly and made sure their concerns were resolved. The food offers great value for the price, and the service from the staff was truly outstanding—they were attentive, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay. Despite being an older property, the place was impressively clean. We could see that renovations and updates are currently underway, which is a positive sign. Overall, we are very happy with our experience.

The food was about a 6/10 overall. While there was decent variety, around 80% of the time the food was not hot enough, which was a bit disappointing. That being said, the staff truly made a positive impact on our stay. Sandra at the coffee bar provided the best service with an amazing personality—always friendly and welcoming. On the Hacienda side, pool staff Miguel and Cesar worked incredibly hard to keep everyone hydrated and well taken care of. At the Hacienda breakfast bar, Manuel did an excellent job making sure all our needs were met. A special mention goes to Christian at the Italian restaurant, who was not only a great waiter but also an entertainer. His energy and attentiveness made dining there a fun and memorable experience.

From the warm welcome to the attentive care throughout our meal, everything was handled with kindness, patience, and sincerity. The staff made us feel valued and comfortable, going the extra mile to ensure we enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. It was more than just dining out—it was a heartfelt experience marked by grace, respect, and exceptional service.
