"Good Food, But Underwhelming Service and Expectations"
I visited based on the glowing reviews, but the experience didn’t quite live up to the hype. The service was disappointing — it took nearly 45 minutes before my server even took my order. While most of the food was enjoyable, the "crispy fried squid" was far from crispy, which was a letdown. On the bright side, the rice and ceviche were both tasty. Overall, this felt more like a casual, crowd-pleasing restaurant rather than an elevated dining experience.

We visited this restaurant back in April and even though it’s been a while, I had to make time to leave a review — it was hands down the best place we dined at during our week in Cusco! The food was authentic, rich in flavor, and the portions were generous. Our server, José, was incredibly kind and attentive. When it got chilly on the balcony, he brought us two rounds of muña tea on the house — such a thoughtful gesture. The entire experience offered great value for money, and we truly appreciated the warm hospitality. Highly recommended!

The presentation here is clearly a priority, but unfortunately, the taste doesn’t match the aesthetics. The ceviche was underwhelming, the trout was paired with an odd broccoli mash and an overly complex mix of flavors, and the burger simply didn’t hit the mark. There’s far too much emphasis on plating and not enough on delivering satisfying flavor. On a positive note, the drinks were well-crafted and enjoyable.

The service was generally very good, and the restaurant itself has a pleasant atmosphere. However, the food didn’t quite live up to expectations. The tallarín saltado was just okay, while the chicharrón was dry and chewy. Surprisingly, even when we mentioned our dissatisfaction with the dishes, it was met with a smile and no further response. In the end, the experience didn’t justify the price.

We had a lovely time dining at Kusykay. As two people, we shared one entrée and one main dish, which was more than enough and left us satisfied. Francisco, our server, was incredibly attentive and made the experience even better. Overall, a great meal and excellent service — definitely worth a visit!

It’s easy to see why this restaurant has such glowing reviews — it truly deserves a 5-star rating. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and our server, Fransisco, was incredibly attentive and helpful. He gave excellent recommendations, and every dish we tried was absolutely amazing. Highly recommended! Just a heads-up: it gets busy, so arriving early or making a reservation is a smart move.
