La Bodega 138

"Tasty Pizza and Great Garlic Bread Starter"
This spot offers good pizza at a fair price—definitely a solid choice if you're craving something casual and satisfying. A highlight was the small pieces of garlic bread served with a flavorful dip, which were surprisingly delicious and a great way to start the meal.
"Hearty Lunch with Generous Portions and Friendly Service"
We stopped by for lunch on the recommendation of our Airbnb host and had a pretty good experience overall. The food was decent with generous portion sizes—perfect for a filling meal. Service was friendly, and the staff made an effort to speak English with us, which we appreciated. We were welcomed with free garlic bread, a nice touch. For our meal, we ordered the Ravioli Asado, meat lasagna, La 10 Del Diego pasta, and the La Bodega 138 pizza. The standout for me was the Del Diego pasta—the parmesan chicken was moist and flavorful, and the creamy fettuccine was rich and satisfying. A solid choice for a casual, hearty lunch.
"Overrated Experience with Disappointing Service"
Despite the restaurant’s high ratings, our visit fell short of expectations. I ordered the carbonara, which lacked flavor, and my friend’s chicken ravioli was unfortunately quite bad. When we requested to replace the dish, the staff initially refused and only agreed after we insisted—making for a frustrating service experience. On a positive note, the pasta served with the schnitzel was good, but overall, the visit was underwhelming and not what we had hoped for.
"Charming Spot Near Cusco’s Plaza with Great Food and Warm Service"
Just a few meters from Cusco’s main plaza, this beautiful restaurant is an excellent choice for lunch or dinner. The service is warm and friendly, and we were welcomed with complimentary garlic bread. The menu is simple yet varied, offering delicious options to suit all tastes. The restaurant’s artistic decor adds to the inviting atmosphere, and everything—from the spotless facilities to the clean bathrooms—reflects great attention to detail. The dishes were generous in portion and served hot. I’d gladly return here on my next visit to Cusco.
"Friendly Service but Underwhelming Food"
The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and the staff are friendly, which made for a nice overall vibe. However, the food didn’t quite meet expectations. The pizza was very simple and lacked the flavor or quality I was hoping for. The lasagna and calzone were just okay—nothing particularly memorable. While the experience wasn’t bad, I wouldn’t go out of my way to return.
"Great Service, Generous Flavors, and a Lovely Street View"
The service here is excellent—the staff are attentive and always available. While the plates may look small at first, they’re actually quite filling and perfect for lunch. We tried three dishes: the 10 de Maradona (a Milanese Neapolitan dish) was delicious, the meat lasagna was also very satisfying, and the ají de gallina sorentino had a spicy kick—not quite to our taste, but ideal if you enjoy bold, spicy flavors. We also ordered lemon verbena and mint lemonades, which were super refreshing. The restaurant space itself offers a nice view of the street, adding to the pleasant dining experience.
"Excellent Food and Atmosphere, But Disappointing Service"
The food and ambiance at this restaurant were truly impressive—delicious dishes served in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the quality of the rest of the experience. I had to ask for someone to take my order as no staff approached my table initially, and the waiter who eventually served us was noticeably apathetic. What was particularly frustrating was seeing the stark contrast in service at a nearby table of tourists, who received much more attentive care. It’s a shame, because everything else was excellent, but the poor service left a disappointing impression.
"Excellent Food and Service, Though the Music Was a Bit Loud"
Overall, this was a fantastic dining experience. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere, and the service was excellent—our waitresses were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. There was an English menu available, which was very helpful. We ordered the calzone, which was large and delicious, and the house-recommended gnocchi with fillet, which was absolutely amazing. The quality of the food was outstanding, especially considering the reasonable prices. The only downside was the loud music, which made conversation a bit difficult at times. Still, this place is definitely worth visiting at least once during your time in the city. Highly recommended.
"Disappointing Lunch—Lacking Flavor and Execution"
We visited this restaurant for lunch and, unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming. We ordered the Calm Fusion drink, which was nearly undrinkable due to an overpowering clove flavor—even after trying to balance it with pineapple juice, it remained unpleasant and was left untouched. The Margherita pizza was another letdown. The dough lacked flavor and tasted like store-bought, and it was inexplicably topped with tomatoes, which aren’t typically part of a traditional Margherita. The tagliatelle pomodoro was overcooked, and the sauce tasted more like it belonged to a lomo saltado than a fresh tomato-based pasta. Service was just average—not particularly attentive or memorable. The only highlight was the complimentary starter: garlic bread served with a mildly spicy tomato-based dip, which was quite good. That evening, we dined at La Osteria instead—and it was a far superior experience. If you’re deciding between the two, we highly recommend going to La Osteria.
"Delicious Food, Great Service, and a Warm Atmosphere"
We had a very good experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was impressively fast. The waitresses were kind and attentive, making the meal even more enjoyable. The atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming—perfect for a relaxed lunch or dinner. One standout was the complimentary garlic bread—it was incredibly tasty and a great start to the meal. I would definitely return and 100% recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.
