La Valise mx City, an SLH Hotel

"Beautiful hotel, wonderful location"
We spent four nights at this charming luxury property in the Roma Norte neighborhood of Mexico City. With just eight rooms, each uniquely designed, the hotel offers an intimate and distinctive experience. Roma Norte itself is a wonderful area, full of cafés, tree-lined streets, ceramic shops, and a vibrant atmosphere, with many Michelin-rated restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. The rooms are beautifully appointed, blending modern design with elegant, historic details. Each room features a separate sitting area, and the overall standard easily meets expectations for a luxury hotel. There is also a small spa on the property, which adds to the appeal. The adjacent café, which belongs to the hotel, was a disappointment, serving lukewarm coffee and undercooked croissants. We were also disturbed late at night by a guest locked out around 3:30 a.m., which caused several hours of lost sleep. To their credit, the hotel tried to make amends by offering complimentary massages. The concierge team and the house manager were helpful, attentive, and genuinely eager to please, which helped balance the experience.
"A Flawless Stay in Mexico City’s Artistic Gem"
Our stay in the Moon Room at La Valise was simply perfect. The staff were exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely caring in every interaction. The hotel itself feels like living inside a work of art, with beautifully restored architecture, curated décor, and thoughtful details in every corner. The in-house coffee shop and bakery were phenomenal, serving some of the best coffee and pastries we’ve experienced anywhere in Mexico City. Every morning felt like a special moment to savor. La Valise is truly a hidden gem, capturing the essence of Mexico City’s art and hospitality. Five stars without hesitation!
"Nice home away from home."
We stayed here for one night on the way back from Oaxaca to the States. The location is excellent. The service was excellent. The room service food was good. The driver was very professional and all in all our stay was pleasant. The rooms look a bit tired but the bed was comfortable and the bathrooms were spacious and had nice soaps etc and were clean. The floors are old so the place is a bit creaky if the people above you are moving around, but it's a beautiful old building and that's part of the
"An Unforgettable Stay – La Valise is Simply the Best"
Incredible hotel! The staff goes above and beyond, making you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. Everything is spotless, beautiful, and peaceful, creating a truly relaxing atmosphere. The location is fantastic, close to all the best spots in Mexico City. We travel extensively around the world, and La Valise has become our #1 hotel stay ever. Thank you to the entire team for making our trip extraordinary! If we could, we’d give you 10 stars!
"Mexico City Oasis"
The location is wonderful, and the people truly make the experience special. The ambiance is excellent, with several outstanding restaurants just steps away. We arrived at 1 a.m., and the concierge immediately asked if we were hungry and went out to bring back the best street tacos we’ve ever had—an unforgettable gesture. The hotel offers a very personalized and discreet experience, making you feel genuinely well cared for. The only minor drawback was road construction over two nights, which was not related to the hotel itself. Overall, a charming stay defined by exceptional service and a fantastic location.
"Stylish Suite and Exceptional Service at La Valise"
My wife and I stayed in the Gravity Suite from Friday to Tuesday, and we loved it. The suite, located on the 2nd floor, features a Juliet balcony overlooking the street and a separate outdoor area that feels like a private courtyard. The layout of the room is fantastic, combining style and comfort perfectly. The staff were outstanding—special thanks to Adrianna and Eric for their attentive and friendly service. We also enjoyed a couple’s massage, which was absolutely epic. While the hotel does have a pool, it’s not a typical hotel pool and was not in use during our stay. Overall, we highly recommend La Valise for its combination of stylish accommodations, exceptional service, and thoughtful touches.
"Designer’s dream stay!"
La Terrazzo is a visually stunning and spacious suite, with a roll-out bed that’s incredibly Instagram-worthy. The open bathroom layout has no main door, though the shower and toilet are enclosed, which is something to keep in mind. The staff were very accommodating and friendly, adding to the overall comfort of the stay. Breakfast was lovely, and the location is excellent, with plenty of great restaurants within easy walking distance.
"One of the best boutique hotel experiences I’ve ever had!"
Everything about La Valise was fantastic. The rooms are incredibly cool, with unique and thoughtful décor that makes the stay feel special. The location is perfect, and the coffee shop is absolutely adorable—breakfast there was wonderful. A special shout-out to Eric, the manager, who is truly one of the best we’ve ever met and made the experience even more memorable. Thank you, La Valise, for an unforgettable and fun 50th birthday weekend!
"Wonderful respite in Mexico City"
What a fantastic stay at La Valise during a recent weekend trip to Mexico City. The experience was outstanding even before arrival—the staff were incredibly responsive to emails, offered great recommendations, and handled all requests exactly as specified. The hotel driver was waiting for us just outside customs and expertly guided us through the airport, which made arriving completely stress-free. The hotel is perfectly situated in the trendy Roma neighborhood, within easy walking distance of boutiques, restaurants, and bars. We stayed in the beautiful Terrazza room on the third floor, which features a private outdoor terrace. The space is tastefully decorated, with lovely flower arrangements, and the room was spacious and immaculately clean. The large bathroom, especially the tub, was a highlight, and the small kitchen area with an espresso machine was a thoughtful touch. Breakfast was Western-style and delivered to our room, and we also enjoyed ordering from the nearby Panadería Rosetta, which is a gem. It would be great to see some Mexican breakfast options added in the future, given the hotel’s incredible surroundings. Above all, the staff truly made this stay special. The team was attentive, warm, and genuinely focused on our comfort throughout the visit. La Valise is a true gem, and this wonderful experience already has me looking forward to returning.
"Charming Boutique Luxury in Roma Norte"
La Valise is a stunning boutique hotel located in the vibrant Roma Norte neighborhood. From arrival to departure, the service was impeccable, with Adriana, Erick, and Daniela going above and beyond to make our stay truly special. Every interaction was warm, attentive, and friendly. We stayed in the Gravity Suite, which is spacious, beautifully appointed, and so comfortable that I could have happily stayed in bed the entire visit. The thoughtful design details throughout the hotel create a luxurious yet inviting atmosphere. My husband and I also enjoyed spa treatments that left us in a state of utter bliss, adding to the overall sense of relaxation and indulgence. We left with wonderful memories and are already looking forward to returning to both Mexico City and La Valise!
