"A unique experience"

We dined at L’Ambroisie with my parents and a couple of their friends, eager to experience this landmark of French gastronomy following Bernard Pacaud’s recent departure. The kitchen was exceptional — every dish perfectly balanced in flavor, texture, and presentation. The service, slightly retro but entirely in tune with the restaurant’s emblematic charm, made it easy to fully enjoy this refined cuisine. Thanks to the entire team for an unforgettable meal — L’Ambroisie now ranks among the very best dining experiences of my life.

"Excellence without surprise"

The cuisine here is undeniably excellent, and the service is impeccable. That said, I personally felt that the dishes lacked a bit of daring or “madness” — I had hoped for more surprising flavors. However, it’s clear that the restaurant aims to reassure rather than shock, and in that sense, it succeeds beautifully. A memorable moment of refined gastronomy.

The service at L’Ambroisie is absolutely flawless. The staff is attentive, polite, and friendly, ensuring that every detail of the dining experience is thoughtfully considered. From start to finish, you feel valued and pampered, making the meal even more enjoyable. An unforgettable experience that truly stands out.

"Dinner in love"

This is a truly special and unique restaurant, living up to its prestigious reputation. Everything about the experience was exceptional, making it clear why it’s considered an institution. The atmosphere is quiet and discreet, with many Japanese diners, though many seemed absorbed in their cell phones.

"classic French cuisine."

The restaurant delivers absolutely classic French cuisine, executed with high quality. However, there were moments where attention to detail faltered — for example, I had to correct the sommelier when a red wine bottle was left standing in the sun. While the food is solid and well-prepared, it feels unimaginative. Three-star cuisine should be a revelation, not just reliably classic.

"Great experience"

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at L’Ambroisie. The decor exudes romantic 18th-century French charm, with parquet floors, authentic furniture, and beautiful tapestries. Menus are in French, but the attentive service happily explains each dish. The food was excellent, with my favorite being the seafood course with curry. A truly lovely place, and likely my favorite along with Guy Savoy.

"Disappointment"

As regular diners at starred establishments, we had high expectations for this dinner, but were ultimately disappointed. The setting felt old and lacked warmth, and while the dishes were good, none delivered the flavor explosion we’ve recently experienced at other 2-star restaurants. Compared to other 2- and 3-star venues in Paris, L’Ambroisie did not feel on par, and the 3-star rating seems unjustified.

"An elegant restaurant serving classical haute cuisine"

The food at this restaurant is excellent, and the setting is lovely and genteel. The Michelin 3-star experience earns a strong 4 rather than 5 because only a few dishes truly stood out. The room was quiet and beautifully decorated, with carpeted floors and walls adorned with tapestries or drapery, and tables spaced generously apart. The staff was professional, cordial, and attentive, and the sommelier provided excellent wine recommendations based on my preferences. Standout dishes included the Ile Flottant à la Truffe Blanche and sea bass on sliced artichoke hearts surrounded by a ring of caviar — both elegant, beautiful, and delicious. Desserts, including a chocolate tart and praline soufflé, were also excellent. Overall, a refined and memorable experience with some truly remarkable highlights.

"Maybe not like before."

L’Ambroisie is one of the most famous three-Michelin-star restaurants in Paris. I visit regularly and have noticed that, over time, the cuisine has subtly changed since the pandemic. While the quality remains high, the evolution is noticeable to regular diners.

L’Ambroisie

A bastion of traditional French haute cuisine, this three-Michelin-starred gem sits in the elegant Place des Vosges and delivers timeless dishes with flawless execution.
