"A beautiful bus ride to Riga"
My recent journey with Lux Express from Tallinn to Riga in business class was, for the most part, a wonderful experience. The comfort level exceeded expectations — spacious seating, a clean WC, coffee-making facilities, and individual video/audio screens made the 5-hour trip feel relaxing and even luxurious. I especially appreciated the kind and attentive driver who did his best to assist me, as I was traveling with a broken leg. His empathy and effort made a real difference, and I would gladly recommend paying the extra euros for the upgraded experience. Unfortunately, the positive impression was severely tarnished by the behavior of the driver on the return leg — the 1:40 PM Riga to Tallinn bus. Upon arrival in Riga, drivers switched, and I encountered someone who was the polar opposite of his predecessor. As a passenger with a visible disability, I waited to disembark safely from the front of the bus — a necessity given my crutches and injury. However, the new driver refused to open the front doors, insisting I exit via the steep back stairs, which would have been dangerous for me. After some pressure, he begrudgingly opened the front, only to verbally berate me as I exited. Despite remaining calm and polite, I felt deeply humiliated and unsafe, especially when he attempted to shut the doors before I had fully disembarked. To add insult to injury, the bus did not depart until five minutes after I got off — so the urgency was unnecessary. The contrast between the two drivers was stark, and sadly, the latter left me shaken. It's a reminder that traveling while injured or disabled gives you a unique perspective on human empathy — or the lack of it. Lux Express needs to ensure all its staff are trained in basic compassion and accessibility awareness. I would have preferred to give this feedback directly to Lux Express, but unfortunately, there is no clear online option for submitting complaints. I hope they take passenger safety and dignity more seriously going forward.
"Foreigner, be prepared."
When traveling between cities, Lux Express is a fantastic option. However, unlike regional buses within Tallinn, you must book your tickets online in advance for Lux Express services, just like you would for international bus travel. This booking requirement is something to keep in mind when planning your trip, but the service is worth it for a comfortable and reliable journey.
"Efficient and comfortable"
I recently took Lux Express from Riga to Vilnius, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. Booking online was simple and efficient. At departure, the driver was friendly and professional, tagging luggage for easy collection at the destination. The bus was clean and offered great amenities, including free coffee and a well-maintained toilet. I chose the ‘Relax’ seating option, which provided larger, more spacious seats—definitely worth the upgrade. The Wi-Fi worked flawlessly throughout the journey. Charging was available via a USB-A port on the monitor panel (not fast-charging, but adequate). There was also an indication of a 240V power socket under the seat, though I didn’t use it. The entertainment monitor had several features, but I mainly used the live map to track our progress. The driver maintained a calm and steady pace, and we arrived 30 minutes ahead of schedule. This was my first trip with Lux Express, and I’ll definitely be using them again. A well-organized, comfortable, and reliable travel option between cities.
"Excellent"
I used Gran Turismo on the Vilnius–Riga–Tallinn–Vilnius route, and I was thoroughly impressed. The seats were very comfortable, with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and even individual video screens for entertainment. They also provided small bottles of water, and there was a coffee maker on board offering cappuccinos and more — a really nice touch! All of this came at a very affordable price, making it an excellent value. Highly recommended for anyone traveling in the Baltics!
"Tallinn-Warsaw road segment"
Overall, the buses are comfortable, and most drivers are polite and attentive, which makes for a pleasant journey. However, on the Tallinn to Warsaw leg, the tablet at my child’s seat did not work, and unfortunately, the driver on that trip was not polite. This was disappointing compared to previous experiences. I hope the company can improve consistency across all routes, especially when it comes to onboard equipment and customer service.
"Great Experience crossing the estonian and russian border"
I traveled with my child and parents from Saint Petersburg to Tallinn and back, and we had a great experience both ways. The buses were very comfortable, making the long journey enjoyable for everyone. My child loved watching animated movies, while I appreciated the reliable internet that allowed me to get some work done. The drivers were very friendly and professional, which added to our comfort. One moment that really stood out was after we spent three hours at the border in the cold — once we crossed, the staff offered us warm and cold drinks, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture. The organization at the border crossing was also very efficient, which made a stressful part of international travel much smoother. I will definitely travel with Lux Express again and recommend it to others, especially families.
"Long live bus trips, assuming the risk of meeting a bawling brat!"
In my 76 years of travel, this journey between Vilnius and Riga stands out as one of the best. The bus respected the timetable perfectly, and the ride was extremely comfortable, with Wi-Fi and internet access throughout the trip. One feature I especially appreciated was the elevated seating, which offered great views of the surrounding landscapes — a real treat for anyone who enjoys scenic travel. The only downside, which was simply bad luck, was having a very loud child seated behind me, who screamed for a good portion of the trip. Of course, this wasn’t the company’s fault, just an unfortunate part of the experience. Overall, I highly recommend this route and Lux Express for its comfort, punctuality, and overall quality.
"Travelled from Tallinn to Riga and after some days from Riga to Tallinn"
The bus itself was very comfortable, with spacious seats, and the option to watch movies or use the internet if you don’t feel like watching the scenery. Overall, it’s a great setup for a relaxing journey. However, as with any form of public transport, the experience can depend on fellow passengers. Unfortunately, during my trip, two people seated behind me were speaking loudly in Russian for an extended period, which made it difficult to relax. One of them also kept pushing on the back of my seat quite hard, which made the ride uncomfortable at times. It’s worth noting that the bus company can’t control who you’re seated near, but it does remind you that good manners make a big difference in shared spaces. That said, the bus service itself was excellent, and I’d consider using it again — hopefully with more considerate neighbors next time.
"Relaxing journey between Tallinn and Riga"
Traveling between Riga and Tallinn with Lux Express was a truly pleasant experience. The service is highly convenient, with luxurious, comfortable seats and punctual departures that make the journey smooth and stress-free. The onboard amenities are excellent: each passenger has a personal screen with a wide range of entertainment, there’s a clean toilet, and free coffee-making facilities — a thoughtful touch that adds to the comfort. The staff were very helpful and professional, and the ride was so quiet and relaxing that it felt more like a premium experience than a standard bus trip. Honestly, unless you're speeding, you couldn’t make the journey faster by car. Highly recommended for anyone traveling between these two Baltic capitals!
"Not what I was waiting for"
I recently traveled on the Vilnius-Berlin route and was disappointed by the lack of legroom, poor Wi-Fi, and cramped seats. In contrast, the Vilnius-Riga route offered a much more comfortable experience — with spacious seating, reliable internet, and better overall amenities. How is it that such a big difference exists between routes run by the same company? It’s frustrating to see such inconsistency, especially on a longer international journey like Vilnius to Berlin, where comfort is even more essential. Lux Express should standardize the quality of their fleet to match the higher standards experienced on their Baltic routes. Otherwise, it feels like a gamble every time you book a ticket.
