"Great airline"

I had a truly great experience—everything from check-in to luggage collection went smoothly. The service was impeccable. A friend had mentioned that the airline’s service wasn’t as good as it used to be, but that wasn’t my experience at all. The crew were incredibly friendly and attentive, always willing to help. It felt like they genuinely cared about the passengers. A really enjoyable flight overall!

"Come a long way!"

My last flight with Malaysian Airlines was in 2006, and I wasn’t impressed with the old 747s, especially due to the discomfort at take-off and landing. However, my 2019 experience was much better. The aircraft were newer and better equipped for long-haul flights. While the comfort and service had improved, there were some notable downsides. The most frustrating part was the delays. Both my outgoing and incoming flights were delayed by at least 30 minutes, which caused issues for connections. On the outbound flight, a fellow traveler had just one hour to transit, and with a 30-minute delay, it became impossible to make the connection. I advised him to request crew assistance to notify airport authorities in Kuala Lumpur about the delay. Not sure if he made it, but it would’ve been helpful if they had coordinated better for connecting passengers. On my return, I had a very unpleasant experience at Mumbai airport. The staff insisted that I could only carry my trolley bag as hand luggage, even though I also had a small backpack. I had been flying for years, but this was the first time I encountered such an issue. The airport staff were targeting solo travelers, while families seemed to have no problem with similar situations. After some back and forth, the manager allowed me to dispose of a couple of items from my backpack to comply with the weight restriction. However, I was charged an additional fee for a male traveler’s laptop bag, which seemed inconsistent and unfair. Despite the setbacks, this was the cheapest flight during a peak travel season, so I understand the value for money. But, the airport experience definitely needs improvement

"Cabin crew second to none"

I recently flew Business Class with Malaysia Airlines on the Kuala Lumpur–Beijing–Kuala Lumpur route. The A330 seats aren’t the latest, but they’re perfectly fine for a medium-haul journey. The cabin itself is clean and well-maintained. What truly stood out was the exceptional cabin crew—attentive, friendly, and addressing passengers by name, always ready to assist. Food & Beverage: For a 6-hour flight, the food quantity was impressive—one full meal and a snack featuring their signature satay, which remains unmatched despite other Southeast Asian airlines trying to replicate it. While the satay was a highlight, the rest of the meal offerings were fairly average. There’s no printed wine list, but don’t let that stop you. Just ask—they offer a full selection of alcoholic beverages, including champagne and three types of red wine. Once they know you're a wine drinker, expect generous top-ups! Entertainment & Wi-Fi: The in-flight entertainment is decent, though not extensive. As for the much-advertised complimentary Wi-Fi—it never worked for me. Not a huge loss, though, when you’re comfortably reclined, enjoying food, drinks, and movies. Lounge Experience: Kuala Lumpur (Flagship Lounge): Spacious in theory, but way too crowded during peak hours. It hasn't grown since KLIA opened, so good luck finding a seat. The food and service were mediocre, and the “napping area” is useless—located next to the nursery and a service corridor. Noise, even with earplugs, made it impossible to rest. Beijing Daxing (China Southern Lounge): Modern and elegant, but quite small. The staff don’t speak English, which could be challenging for some travelers.

"Tea/Coffee on Malaysia Airlines flight"

Malaysia Airlines does not serve tea or coffee, citing the “fasten seatbelt” sign as the reason. Oddly enough, on all three flights I took with them, the seatbelt sign was never turned off—not once. To add to the confusion, during minor turbulence the pilot would announce a temporary stop to hot drink service... but there wasn’t any hot drink service happening in the first place! If you’re someone who enjoys a warm cup of tea or coffee in-flight, you’ll likely be disappointed here. I certainly was.

"Worst service"

I am writing to share my extremely disappointing experience with [Airline Name], which turned out to be the worst airline experience I’ve ever had. The staff was not only rude to my elderly mother but also provided terrible service throughout the entire process. From the moment we checked in, the staff displayed a lack of patience and were extremely short-tempered. They were not willing to listen to our concerns and were uncooperative, making the experience even more stressful. To make matters worse, one of the staff members caused a problem during check-in, which significantly affected our overall experience. This issue created unnecessary complications and frustration for my mother, which could have easily been avoided with a little more professionalism and courtesy. The attitude of the staff was utterly uncalled for, and it made an already stressful situation even worse. It is incredibly disappointing to encounter such poor customer service, especially when traveling with a loved one. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that improvements are made to ensure future passengers do not have to go through such an unpleasant experience.

"Excellent service"

I want to take a moment to recognize the exceptional cabin crew on our recent 12-hour flight. A long-haul journey can be taxing, but thanks to Wai Sun, along with her incredible team—Nitahanid, Argenio, Nazirah, and Akhimulla—it was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. From the moment we boarded until we landed, we were greeted with warm smiles, genuine hospitality, and impeccable service. Their kindness, attentiveness, and professionalism truly made a difference and turned a long journey into a memorable experience. Thank you for going above and beyond—we genuinely appreciated every moment.

"Unreliable Service and Poor Support"

I am extremely disappointed with Malaysia Airlines’ customer service. My return flight tickets were messed up, and despite making three lengthy phone calls to resolve the issue, the airline made no genuine effort to fix the problem. Rather than offering a solution, the only suggestion I received was to upgrade to business class, which felt like an attempt to distract from their inability to address the actual issue. In the end, I had no confidence that my fully paid tickets—booked three months in advance—would be secured, so I made the difficult decision to cancel my booking altogether. This experience has left me frustrated and dissatisfied, and I will think twice before booking with Malaysia Airlines again in the future.

"Don’t go business"

This was one of the poorest business class flights I’ve ever taken. The seats were uncomfortable, and the pillows were lumpy, offering little support. Even more frustrating was the lack of attentiveness from the crew—they seemed disinterested and disengaged throughout the flight. I had pre-ordered a special meal for the 13-hour journey, but the crew mistakenly gave it to another passenger, leaving me without a meal. There was no proper resolution offered. To make matters worse, after the lackluster meal service, the cabin was plunged into darkness, and passengers were forced to close window blinds, despite this being a daytime flight. The situation with the restrooms was appalling. The business class toilets were locked by the crew, forcing us to use those in other cabins. One economy toilet was even out of order due to a broken door lock. There was absolutely no business class experience or service to speak of. A truly unacceptable experience for the price paid.

"Worst service ever"

I can confidently say that Malaysia Airlines is one of the worst airlines I’ve ever dealt with. My partner and I booked two tickets to Sydney in April, but due to personal reasons, we had to cancel our flight. We were told we were entitled to a refund within 7 to 14 days. However, it’s been a frustrating and unclear process with no updates or communication from the airline. Every time I contacted customer service, the team seemed completely clueless and unhelpful. We’ve been left in limbo, with no answers and no resolution in sight. It’s incredibly disappointing, and we are now left waiting, hoping that the situation will resolve itself, but with no real confidence that it will. I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before booking with Malaysia Airlines.

"Good business class flight overall"

This flight was part of a Turkish Airlines itinerary returning to Australia, with a TK flight number, transferring from Istanbul to a Malaysia Airlines A330 in Kuala Lumpur. Despite the inbound Turkish flight arriving late, we still managed to make the connection through KLIA's slightly confusing terminal layout, though it meant no time for a lounge visit. The aircraft was an older A330, featuring traditional business class seats—a bit dated, but surprisingly comfortable. The cabin crew were pleasant and professional, and we especially appreciated the signature satay service before landing, which was a nice touch. The meal overall was enjoyable. Inflight entertainment was limited, but free Wi-Fi worked well, which helped pass the time. Upon arrival in Sydney, priority baggage arrived promptly, which was a welcome end to the journey. In summary, this was a solid, if not standout, business class experience—reliable service, decent comfort, and a few highlights like the satay and fast baggage delivery.

"TERRIBLE TIME TRYING TO RESOLVE A VERY SIMPLE PPROBLEM WITH MALAYSIAN AIR"

I am extremely frustrated with the service I received from Malaysia Airlines. There was a mistake with my wife’s frequent flyer name, and I’ve spent the entire day trying to correct it. Unfortunately, the website is full of errors and is practically impossible to use. When I reached out to the call center for assistance, it was just as bad. The staff was unhelpful, and I couldn’t get the issue resolved. It’s clear that their focus is solely on selling flights, not providing actual customer service. This whole experience has been incredibly disappointing, and I strongly feel that Malaysia Airlines needs to significantly improve their customer service if they want to maintain any level of trust with passengers.

"Best airline Good service spirit of Malaysia!"

The airline was good overall. While it might not be quite on the same level as Singapore Airlines (though I haven’t flown with them yet to compare directly), I still think it’s definitely worth flying with. I’d recommend giving them a try!

"Extremely rude Ground staff"

I have never received such poor service in my life. The staff in Kuala Lumpur were exceptionally rude, and the level of service was absolutely atrocious. It was incredibly disappointing, and I would never recommend flying with them again based on this experience.

"Service review."

Flying out from Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur, I had a disappointing experience. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch the name of the stewardess, but she was unwilling to help me place my case in the overhead compartment, and overall, the crew seemed uninterested. One flight attendant, in particular, had a visibly grumpy demeanor the entire journey. However, the return flight (14/03/23 at 23:45) was a completely different experience—impeccable service! A special shout-out to Saw Howie Keng, who went above and beyond to be helpful. There was also a stewardess wearing pink eyeshadow whose care and attentiveness truly stood out. For this return crew, I give a full 5 stars!

"Good meal and spacious seat on economy class"

Pros: The meal was a highlight—especially the chicken curry rice, which was absolutely perfect! The cabin crew were very polite and had great interactions with passengers, making the experience feel warm and welcoming. Also, the seat size was surprisingly spacious for economy class—definitely more comfortable than expected. Cons: The inflight entertainment could use improvement. There weren't enough music and movie options to choose from, and the touchscreen was not very responsive.
