"The team save the Day, the rest is disaster"

Our stay was a mix of positives and disappointments. The staff were very friendly, always willing to help, which was the highlight of our experience. However, the breakfast fell far short of a five-star standard, with a very limited selection, and room service only provided items if specifically requested. The room itself was problematic—bed sheets and towels were old, worn, and in some cases torn, with visible stains. There were also many bugs and some rotting matter that clearly needed daily attention, which was not addressed. The location is quite far from Fisherman’s Village, and every trip required a costly taxi (around 300 BAT), as the hotel does not provide a shuttle and charges for additional services such as movies. Overall, while the staff were excellent, the poor room conditions, lack of breakfast quality, and inconvenient location made the stay feel disappointing and not worth the time.

"Amazing hotel"

We were only at the hotel for one night, but I truly wish we could have stayed all week. The room was beautiful, as were the hotel and pool. The food in the restaurant was delicious, and the breakfast was of very high quality. I 100% recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again.

"Amazing!!"

We stayed at this magnificent hotel for 8 days and had stars in our eyes! Located high up with breathtaking views of the sea and right opposite the Big Buddha, the setting was simply spectacular. We made excellent use of the scooter rental service to easily explore the city. The catering service was perfect, meals were hearty and delicious, housekeepers were exceptional, and the reception staff were always responsive. Every member of the hotel team was friendly and smiling. A very special mention goes to Dean Boyall, the guest services manager, who gave us the most extraordinary welcome we have ever experienced. He went above and beyond by organizing our room for a marriage proposal and preparing an entire package. His care, kindness, and attention to detail made this special occasion truly unforgettable. We are incredibly grateful to him—thank you a thousand times for everything!

"Good, but there’s a lot to improve."

The Mantra Resort is beautifully situated in the hills above Bo Phut, offering spectacular sea views and a clear sight of the neighboring island, Ko Phangan—especially from the right rooms, pool, and restaurant. We stayed in the Wow Suite (1122), which features a bedroom, living room with kitchenette, two bathrooms, and two balconies. The suite is modernly decorated, though the décor feels sparse, and the kitchen is minimally equipped but sufficient for breakfast preparation. The large bed was slightly sagging and could use replacement, and the bathrooms could benefit from renovation. While breakfast was not included in our monthly rental, we dined several times at the resort restaurant with mixed experiences—the food ranged from good to mediocre, and service was often inattentive or listless, particularly when management was absent. The pool is adequately sized, but there are too few sun loungers and shaded areas. The parasols are small, sometimes broken, and dirty, and some pool towels were ragged and stained, which is disappointing for a hotel at this price point. At around €1,000 per month, the Mantra Resort was a very good choice for a monthly stay. We would have loved to return next year, but unfortunately, monthly rentals are no longer offered.

"Beautiful views, friendly staff"

This hotel offers truly breathtaking views, especially from the pool, which provides a stunning backdrop for relaxation. The hillside location, however, comes with a challenge—the trek to the pool is steep, and the stairs between rooms can be noisy, making foot traffic easy to hear at any hour. The staff are exceptionally friendly, giving a warm welcome upon arrival, and housekeeping does an excellent job maintaining spotless rooms each morning. The shuttle bus service could be more frequent, as the hotel is far from most attractions, and taxis become a necessity due to the steep terrain. Food is average; breakfast is pleasant, but the restaurant’s atmosphere feels a bit casual, with chalk signs giving it a hostel-like vibe. Some staff could benefit from additional training, particularly in coffee preparation. Overall, this hotel is ideal for guests seeking peace, privacy, and incredible views. Those comfortable with the steep hills and a more secluded setting will find it a lovely place to unwind and soak in the surroundings.

"Would recommend"

We had a wonderful stay at this resort, enjoying a lovely room with breathtaking views and exceptionally helpful staff. The food was excellent, and the breakfast served with a sea view was a perfect start to each day. Highlights included the relaxing complementary massage and the infinity pool, which added a touch of luxury to our stay. While the resort is slightly removed from the nearest town, taxis and a short walk make it easily accessible. Overall, an ideal choice for a peaceful couple’s getaway.

"Good and bad…."

The hotel sits on a hillside with fantastic views and a lovely pool, but the location is a bit challenging for walking, especially back from Fisherman’s Village in the heat. The shuttle service is helpful, though more frequent trips would be ideal. Staff were delightful and responsive, with WhatsApp communication working seamlessly. The room was clean, but the bed was very hard, and the pillows were flat and uncomfortable. Sheets and towels were adequate. The gym was disappointing—old equipment and an unpleasant smell. Breakfast was nice and the pool area, combined with the stunning views, made for a relaxing atmosphere. Overall, it’s a clean and pleasant hotel with great scenery, but the steep location, hard bedding, and outdated gym make it more of a 4-star experience than the advertised 5-star standard.

"It has everything you need"

This hotel, perched on a hill just a few kilometers from Fisherman’s Village, offers a unique layout with separate units connected by footpaths or golf carts. The rooms are modern, spacious, and well-appointed, with comfortable bathrooms and private sunbeds in our sea-view unit. The infinity pool is beautiful, and breakfast—both à la carte and buffet—was enjoyable. While the staff were friendly, occasional lapses in preparedness and minor missing amenities, like a courtesy kit in the bathroom, kept it from feeling like a full 5-star experience. Still, a relaxing and scenic stay with thoughtful touches, such as a spacious shower room after check-out, made our visit memorable.

"Amazing view from my room!!"

My stay at Mantra Samui was a truly wonderful experience. Perched on the hillside, the hotel offers breathtaking ocean views, and my suite was both spacious and beautifully designed. Waking up to watch the sunrise from the comfort of my bed was simply unforgettable. The only minor downside was the breakfast, which could be improved with a wider variety of choices. Overall, a serene and luxurious retreat perfect for relaxation and taking in the stunning surroundings.

"Definitely not thhe best birthday experience"

I booked the resort for my birthday directly through the hotel website, which advertised perks like early check-in and late check-out. Unfortunately, due to high occupancy, neither was honored. I had reserved a Garden View room but was initially given a room right above reception, next to the parking lot and a large electric pole—far from the special experience I had hoped for. When I requested a different room, the only option was an upgrade at 30% higher cost. The upgraded room itself was excellent—spacious, comfortable, with a bedroom, living room, terrace, and beautiful bathroom—but it overlooked the restaurant’s generator and employee smoking area, which was noisy and unappealing. The minibar, stocked with drinks and snacks, was included. I had also inquired about spa bookings in advance and was told I could reserve at reception, but upon arrival, all slots were fully booked, which was frustrating. The one highlight was breakfast, which offered a wide variety of tasty dishes both at the buffet and à la carte, making mornings enjoyable despite the earlier inconveniences.

"Can be done"

This is a beautiful hotel with well-maintained grounds and spacious, stylishly furnished rooms. Our only issue was the very saggy bed and the hard pillows, which affected our sleep quality. The hotel is situated in a remote hillside location, so having a car or scooter is essential for getting around. On the positive side, the on-site restaurant was excellent, offering delicious meals in a lovely setting. A perfect choice for those seeking tranquility and a stylish stay with breathtaking surroundings.

"Тhe good view. Boring if you stay more than a couple of days"

This hotel offers beautiful vistas from the pool, restaurant, and most rooms, making it a visually appealing stay. Fitness enthusiasts will also enjoy the well-equipped gym. That said, beyond relaxing by the pool or enjoying the views, there’s little else to do. For stays longer than one or two days, guests may find it quite monotonous, as the hotel provides minimal activities or entertainment options.
